Hmmm – I have been boycotting Citgo since 2006….am I the only one? I really don’t care.

If September 11, 2001 taught me anything other than “things will never be the same in America” – it gave me a firm resolve to join a chorus of other Americans who will say till they die “We will Remember”.

Venezuela’s America hating President Victor Chavez is in charge of Citgo – read this 2006 USA Today article for a refresher:

“The only difference between Citgo and other companies is that Citgo has only one shareholder,” he said, referring to the Venezuelan president.

    Another excerpt:

Bush was elected president the following month, but relations didn’t completely sour until after Sept. 11, 2001, when Chávez likened the U.S. war in Afghanistan to the terror attacks in New York.

    Another excerpt:

In November, two weeks after leading anti-American protests at a hemispheric summit in Argentina, Chávez told a business group in Caracas: “The planet’s most serious danger is the government of the United States. … The people of the United States are being governed by a killer, a genocidal murderer and a madman.”

Like I need to get my gasoline from such a loudmouth America hater.

I won’t let my kids fill up at Citgo either. It’s a small world we all live in – right? But we vote with our dollars as consumers all the time.

Someone should get Glenn Beck to organize us all to add Citgo to our boycott list .

For example, I have not bought Sargento’s Cheese Products since they were one of the many sponsors that tried to kill Glenn Beck’s show on Fox. It happened a while ago – I know – but I am so lucky to live in America where I have so many other cheese choices .

Sometimes when I have to buy like 12 pounds of mozzarella cheese to make lasagna for the high school football team, I shoot Sargento’s an email letting them know how much pleasure it gave me to NOT pick their product.

Same goes for gas stations. I will probably never patronize a Citgo station for the rest of my life.

Try it – it feels good 🙂

Hah! Like I could afford Sargento’s anyway in this obama economy. Glad to know that they’re not worth purchasing anyway. The owner’s insistance on putting himself in their commercials with his Kermit-the-frog voice is off-putting too.

I hope Citgo feels the pain.

Joe Bozo may be an Idiot – but he is my Idiot!

I understand! I have made that mistake before! It gets confusing when there are 57 states to visit and so little intelligence to remember each state!

“The sign outside of a gas station near the fairgrounds read: “Welcome back to North Carolina Joe,” a reference to Biden’s Aug. 14 visit to Danville [VA], where he urged the audience to help the Democrats win — North Carolina.” [Biden had the wrong state]

“The other is Virginia Beach, where President Barack Obama will campaign Thursday. Four years ago, GOP presidential nominee John McCain carried Chesterfield by 12,000 votes and won Virginia Beach by 1,400.” [Ouch!]

Learn something new every day. I thought Kathteach was wrong because I once knew a guy who had a Cities Service gas station in the fifties. I wondered what happened to all the stockholders with that company. I went to Citgo home page and lo and behold. it was true. Citgo has been sold many times but is now owned by a Venezuela company. I don’t ever buy from these people anyway. I have always considered it cheap under par gas and wasn’t confident their gas would not ruin my motor.

As far as Sargento goes, I only buy Great Value at Wallmart. I find most of their products as good or better than name brands.

OMG, I live 10 minutes from this sign and saw this the other night as I was running errands and didn’t realize what it meant–I didn’t see the JOE at the bottom. The owners regularly put up Happy Birthday announcements to members of the community.
