Rep. Keith Ellison (D-MN) called the GOP the “Party of Hate” for banning Shariah Law in their platform.
“It’s an expression of bigotry.”

The Hill Blog reported:

Rep. Keith Ellison (D-Minn.) blasted Republicans for including a plank in their convention platform targeting Shariah law in an interview with Mother Jones Wednesday, blasting the language as “an expression of bigotry.”

“There has never been any legislation offered to establish Shariah law — not at the federal level, not at the state level. There’s not been a municipal ordinance opposing this, there’s not been anything,” said Ellison, the nation’s first Muslim member of Congress.

The Republican platform included language demanding “no use of foreign law by U.S. courts in interpreting our Constitution and laws.”

“Nor should foreign sources of law be used in State courts; adjudication of criminal or civil matters,” the platform continues in a section championed by Kansas Secretary of State Kris Kobach, who has been outspoken in his concern that the moral code of Islam could be playing a greater role in the American justice system.

Ellison blasted Republicans as “the party of hate” for having “demonstrated hatred towards Muslims” in adopting the language.

Meanwhile, Democrats just banned and booed God.

  1. Rot in he’ll.

  2. Hopefully he will also be our last Muslim member of congress. Only the law of our country and constitution should be allowed! No slithering in of the UN control or any law like Sharia. This is the United States after all Mr. Ellison and we are to follow what was set up for our country and not have outside influences. FOLLOW our laws not some outside forces.

  3. Yeah Ellison, go ahead and try to win friends and influence people with the popularity of Sharia law. Good grief! Is there one sane person left in the democrat party?

  4. What Ellison fails to mention is that there are groups and political officials wanting to adopt Sharia in part or in whole. He is dishonest in his intent.

  5. Ellison blasted Republicans as “the party of hate” for having “demonstrated hatred towards Muslims” in adopting the language.

To see “hate” on full display, one only need to watch the parade of Democrats at their convention make outlandish claim after outlandish claim of Republicans.

I kind of wish that their convention would keep on going, so that the public can get their fill of seeing the Democrats for what they mostly are: envious, tyrannical, dishonest jerks.

  6. I’m confused… what party does Ellison belong to again? What party got caught removing all references to God in their platform, declaring that man is sovereign in the universe, not some higher power or creator?

    Was that the Republicans?

  7. Ellison blasted Republicans as “the party of hate” for having “demonstrated hatred towards Muslims” in adopting the language.

    *****

What Ellison aka the Congressional Mohammed meant to say is that Republicans s/b congratulated for having “understood exactly what Muslims” are trying to do, conquest through colonization including adopting Islamic ways and laws.

  8. How, exactly, is banning the use of foreign law “hate”? The Republican platform does not specify just sharia, it says “foreign law” – so courts cannot, for example, apply the laws of Indonesia or South Africa in the USA.

    Makes sense to me.

    Ellison is too thin-skinned.

  9. Hmmmmm, and here I thought the Dems were the party of Separation of Church and State, religion having NO place in the political marketplace.

Oh silly me, that applies only to Jews and Christians who are not knee-jerk Dems.

  10. Meanwhile, Democrats just banned and booed God.

For muslim demonrats, it’s worse than that. The resolution demon passed also said Jerusalem is the capital of Israel. Now that’s got to hurt those Palestinian Terrortory Owebama campaign phone banks this go around.

  11. It’s time to set the record straight about Islam. No other religion…Buddhism, Christianity, Hindu, comes with its’ own set of “laws.” The 10 commandments are ways to live, not laws which must be obeyed under penalty of death or mutilation. The Constitution guarantees freedom of religion, but it does not allow one to live under an alternate system of laws and still be American. Allowing Sharia in the US is like allowing another nation to set up shop within your borders

  12. #9 Multitude
    You nailed it

  13. What a clown.

  14. Look, it is more than enough to put up with the false claim that indigenous Moslems led Columbus to the new world. Dems apparently are all in with that stupidity. Sharia law is the epotomy of the War on Women. This toad needs to crawl back under that rock he came from. Take Barry with you…

  15. As best I know there are two Mahooundians in Congress, Ellison and Andre Carson (rep. Indianapolis),

And you say public schooling isn’t doing a good job producing really, top-notch, know-their-stuff voters?
