Is this some kind of a bad joke?
The White House said today’s dismal jobs report was “further evidence the US economy is continuing to recover.”
Another successful month.

The civilian labor force participation rate is now at its lowest level since September 1981. (AEIdeas)
368,000 people dropped out of the labor force in August while U.S. employers added only 96,000 jobs.
CBS reported:
The White House says that the August jobs report shows that the nation is continuing to recover, despite more Americans giving up their job search.
Alan Krueger, chairman for the White House Council of Economic Advisers, writes in The White House Blog that it is “important to not read too much into” just one monthly jobs report.
“While there is more work that remains to be done, today’s employment report provides further evidence that the U.S. economy is continuing to recover from the worst downturn since the Great Depression,” Krueger explained.

Oh Dear God! It’s like a broken record “it is “important to not read too much into” just one monthly jobs report.” How many months, years have they been saying this same pathetic line. Does anyone still belive this clown has a clue?

You folks don’t get it, do you?
What Obama and his staff is counting on is the public being a bunch of headline readers. The headlines that I’ve been seeing is, “unemployment rate drops to 8.1%” or “unemployment rate drops from 8.3% to 8.1%”.
They’re counting on the public that has a short attention span, the headline readers, to see that, then see the White House saying “The U.S. Economy is Continuing to Recover” and come to the conclusion that things are getting better.
They know the media won’t go into details since they work with the media on what will or won’t be covered, and the know the media won’t do anything to make Obama look bad.
Over the weekend, watch for Obama’s staffers to be on the talking head shows using the phase, “we’re entering a slow recovery”.
In the next 60 days Obama and company will run on nothing but full blown lies since they know we have a lot of headline readers, and Obama has a compliant media.

Alan Krueger must be some real piece of work to spout that C R A P with a straight face.
Granny commented:
Of course it is important not to read too much into just one month’s jobs report. But this is NOT just one month’s jobs report. It is 43 straight months of crappy jobs reports, with less jobs generated than even needed to account for our increase in population. With every report the previous couple of months are revised – invariably down. And none of them account for the millions of people who are underemployed.
Just how stupid do they think we are?
mcashc commented:
Everything is ass backwards. How do we let them get away with this? If you drop out of the work force because you cannot find a job, that lowers the unemployment rate. Commie math.

They have every reason to have full confidence in that assessment.

It’s an Obama Orwellian World where you are completely crazy if you think 2 + 2 = 4.
All Americans who care about are nation simply must read Orwell’s novel 1984.
We’re living in the climate that gave birth to Orwell’s Big Brother. We ought to understand what Big Brother really means.
Check the book out of the library. It will be good for your American patriot soul.
Not a big reader – just check out the SparksNote version or Wikipedia article. Educate yourself America (because maybe your teachers never did make you really read a friggin book after four years of high school!)

Google 2 + 2 = 4 for this Wikipedia entry (the top hit):
2 + 2 = 5

This article is about the phrase (or the statement in mathematics). For the song by Radiohead, see 2 + 2 = 5 (song).
The phrase “two plus two equals five” (“2 + 2 = 5″) is a slogan used in George Orwell’s Nineteen Eighty-Four[1] as an example of an obviously false dogma one must believe, similar to other obviously false slogans by the Party in the novel. It is contrasted with the phrase “two plus two makes four”, the obvious—but politically inexpedient—truth. Orwell’s protagonist, Winston Smith, uses the phrase to wonder if the State might declare “two plus two equals five” as a fact; he ponders whether, if everybody believes it, does that make it true? The Inner Party interrogator of thought-criminals, O’Brien, says of the mathematically false statement that control over physical reality is unimportant; so long as one controls their own perceptions to what the Party wills, then any corporeal act is possible, in accordance with the principles of doublethink (“Sometimes they are five. Sometimes they are three. Sometimes they are all of them at once”).[2]

A democrat spokesperson on The Neil Cavuto Fox cable news show today explained that a lot of the people who stopped looking for work were baby boomers who simply decided to retire. You got that? It’s all good. That’s the “beyond the headline” takeaway propaganda, folks.

How about real qualifications to be president of the free world! To be president of the UNITED STATES you should have experience across the board, including military experience. How this child got elected is beyond belief.

It’s worth noting that when a person suffers an injury and it takes a very long time to heal, it’s generally accepted that there’s something not quite right.
