Hill Poll: Only 40 Percent of Voters Say Obama Deserves Reelection

This number seems a little high…
Only 40 percent of voters say Obama deserves reelection.
The Hill reported:
A majority of voters believe the country is worse off today than it was four years ago and that President Obama does not deserve reelection, according to a new poll for The Hill.
Fifty-two percent of likely voters say the nation is in “worse condition” now than in September 2008, while 54 percent say Obama does not deserve reelection based solely on his job performance.
Only 31 percent of voters believe the nation is in “better condition,” while 15 percent say it is “about the same,” the poll found. Just 40 percent of voters said Obama deserves reelection.
The results highlight the depth of voter dissatisfaction confronting Obama as he makes his case for a second term at this week’s Democratic National Convention in Charlotte, N.C.

How can 31% of the population believe that we are better off today than we were 4 years ago? Do they live in a glass bubble? Do they not see how many homes are for sale/underwater/foreclosed upon? Do they not see their neighbors with no job/underemployed? Or is it just that their EBT card deposit went up this year, their Section 8 housing is paying their rent, that they get to talk for free on their government cell phone, and that they anticipate free birth control due to Obamacare?

That quote is so true even today. It’s not enough to be able to sign your name (or even write down an X). A voter should be able to tell what the issues are or at least name the vice president or speaker of the house or even their congressman or senator. This 40% being polled are like the people interviewed by that guy with bogus questions in 2008. They liked to sound knowledgable and with it but did’nt have a clue as to what they were talking about. Our country gave up on tests to weed out the incompetent years ago even in government. What’s the use of voting if you don’t know what you are voting for. Why bother to put forth the effort to go to the polls when you didn’t put forth the effort to educate yourself as to the issues.

I don’t really care about the mindset of these voters, I’m just thrilled that it is difficult to find the stories talking about Obama’s likely re-election. It’s not going to happen. The One is done.
He gave himself an incomplete as a grade on the economy. Kind of like voting “present.”
Leadership is not his thing. Oh and his approval rating is 45% today (that’s bad for the incumbent at this stage, especially seeing Mitt’s numbers approaching 50%).

The poll is skewed high. It includes all of the blacks and then the ‘others’ who were afraid to answer truthfully.

The reason that 31% think the country is in better condition is because THEY are. Within the past year or so, I took a minimum wage job at a grocery store to get over a rough time. I was ALARMED and disgusted by the number of young, perfectly healthy young people coming in with foodstamp cards.
I’m only human and the balance on the card is RIGHT THERE, it was HUGE. You could always tell the foodstamp card users: No concerns about cost, always namebrand stuff, steak, shrimp, whatever their little hearts desired (One even gleefully said, “I get MY stuff for FREE.” I tell you, if I hadn’t been representing the grocery store…it was hard to keep my mouth shut, I eventually just got too disgusted and had to quit).
Then after swiping their cards, they’d pull out their wallets with their recently manicured nails and buy lottery tickets, beer and smokes. And now they get free cell phones too! I can’t afford one and STILL don’t have one: To me, if you can afford a cell phone, you shouldn’t be on food stamps.
THESE PEOPLE SHOULD NOT BE ALLOWED TO RUN THIS COUNTRY. I know it sounds un-American, but it doesn’t seem fair. Those that don’t pay taxes and that are on the dole shouldn’t be allowed to vote. Of COURSE they’re going to vote for the party that allows them to wear jammies all day and not lift a lazy finger to help themselves.
