Go Mitt!
The media hasn’t said much about Obama’s $716 billion cut to Medicare so Mitt today pledged to restore it.
Brilliant.
From his This Morning interview on CBS:

MITT ROMNEY:

“And my campaign has made it very clear: the President’s cuts of $716 billion to Medicare, those cuts are going to be restored if I become President and Paul Ryan becomes Vice President. The President, when he was campaigning in Denver, Colorado, four years ago, said that Medicare was on a pathway to become bankrupt. And yet, he’s taking $716 billion from the Medicare trust fund to finance Obamacare, a new risky federal takeover of healthcare. My commitment is, if I become President, I’m going to restore that $716 billion to the Medicare trust fund, so that current seniors can know that trust fund is not being raided and we’re going to make sure and get Medicare on track to be solvent long-term on a permanent basis.”

Obamacare Robs Medicare of $716 Billion to Fund Itself

[According to the CBO, the payment cuts in Medicare include:

A $260 billion payment cut for hospital services.
A $39 billion payment cut for skilled nursing services.
A $17 billion payment cut for hospice services.
A $66 billion payment cut for home health services.
A $33 billion payment cut for all other services.
A $156 billion cut in payment rates in Medicare Advantage (MA); $156 billion is before considering interactions with other provisions. The House Ways and Means Committee was able to include interactions with other provisions, estimating the cuts to MA to be even higher, coming in at $308 billion.
$56 billion in cuts for disproportionate share hospital (DSH) payments.* DSH payments go to hospitals that serve a large number of low-income patients.
$114 billion in other provisions pertaining to Medicare, Medicaid, and CHIP* (does not include coverage-related provisions).

*Subtract $25 billion total between DSH payments and other provisions for spending that was cut from Medicaid and CHIP.

In total, Obamacare raids Medicare by $716 billion from 2013 to 2022. Despite Medicare facing a 75-year unfunded obligation of $37 trillion, Obamacare uses the savings from the cuts to pay for other provisions in Obamacare, not to help shore up Medicare’s finances.

‘With a raid on Medicare of this magnitude, President Obama’s assertion that his new law is protecting seniors and Medicare is astonishing. The truth is that Obamacare does the opposite.’]

  6. Did you Google the Curse of Cain? Probably not.

Funny guy. One black guy joins the party and you think it’s the end of GOP racism.

    Clueless.

  7. BTW, what’s Romney’s plan to save Medicare? Oh, that’s right, vouchers.

    Pfffffffffffffft.

Obama’s cuts are to excess charges for services. The GOP used to be for that. Now they’re against it.

    Pffffffffffffft.

Heckufa job, bg, you keep living in your fantasy world. The voters are going to send your Mormon packing this fall and half of your obstructionist Congress with him. Your side started a war on the lower and middle class, a war that you will certainly lose at the ballot box.

It was interesting watching the GOP Presidential primary this year. The most interesting thing about it was that the process was filled with fatally flawed candidates. So it should not have come as a surprise that the GOP picked the candidate with the biggest fatal flaws… Mormon and his own public healthcare plan legacy.

The GOP used to be a worthy opposition party back in the day; today they are a reactionary party, working to preserve white America’s power in a time of changing demographics, and trying to push wealth up the food chain before its grip on the economic system breaks. Oh, the Democrats are no prize, that’s for sure. But the Dems’ biggest problem is that they haven’t been able to figure out how to counter the conservative media empire that pumps propaganda into the system, sometimes direct fundraising messages, for GOP candidates 24/7.

The common claim that Faux and Rush are what the people want, and this is proven by market economics, is false. Without the support of external money (money outside the marketplace) Rush would be off the air in many markets due to lack of advertisers. The same goes for the Murdoch empire. Faux has been hit hard by advertiser boycotts but as long as Murdoch is willing to bankroll the system the marketplace actually has little effect on it.

Once in a while Murdoch gets the message… as in Glenn Beck. The Krazy Train drove into the sunset with Beck at the throttle.

    Fun stuff.

  8. I would like to know what communist Obama’s plan is, too. Anyone?

    Also, define “communist”.
