It Begins… Sandra Fluke & Obama Use Todd Akin to Trash Romney-Ryan & Raise Cash

Thank you Todd Akin for bringing down the Republican Party with you.
From the DNC website

Thank You Todd Akin.
Thank You Akin campaign media consultant, Rex Elsass.

The Obama Campaign used radical activist Sandra Fluke tonight to tie the Romney-Ryan ticket to Todd Akin and their “war on women.”
Let’s pray Todd Akin reads this and has a change of heart. We all appreciate Todd Akin’s service but now he it taking down the Romney-Ryan ticket and the country with him.

From the Barack Obama website:

Here is the Obama Campaign letter:

In a recent statement that was both factually inaccurate and horribly offensive, Republican Missouri Senate candidate Rep. Todd Akin said that victims of “legitimate rape” don’t get pregnant because “the female body has ways to try to shut that whole thing down.”

Mitt Romney and Paul Ryan tried to distance themselves from the remark—but the fact is they’re in lockstep with Akin on the major women’s health issues of our time. Just this morning, the Republican Party voted to include the “Human Life Amendment” in their platform, calling for a constitutional ban on abortions nationwide, even for rape victims. Several Romney supporters and advisers stood silently by while this vote took place, and the Los Angeles Times reports that the platform “was written at the direction of Romney’s campaign.”

President Obama spoke out yesterday in response to Akin’s comments: “What I think these comments do underscore is why we shouldn’t have a bunch of politicians, a majority of whom are men, making health care decisions on behalf of women.”

This controversy is not an accident, or a mistake, or an isolated incident. It’s a reflection of a Republican Party whose policies are dangerous for women.

There is a clear choice for women in this election.

I entered this national debate on women’s rights in February, when, as a Georgetown Law student, I testified before members of Congress on the issue of contraception.

Without knowing me or my story, Rush Limbaugh called me a “slut” and a “prostitute” on his radio show.

Many Americans stepped forward to tell me they agreed with me, and supported my right to speak out without being verbally attacked. President Obama stood with us.

Mitt Romney, on the other hand? He didn’t even condemn the remark, instead saying only: “It’s not the language I would have used.”

Since that moment, I’m even more resolved to continue the fight to make sure every single woman—and every man who cares about the women in his life—knows exactly what’s at stake in this election. The Republicans are frighteningly clear on these issues.

The party platform itself includes a “salute” to states that have pushed “informed consent” laws, such as those that force women seeking an abortion to first undergo an invasive and medically unnecessary ultrasound.

Just last year, Paul Ryan joined Todd Akin and more than 200 other Republicans in co-sponsoring legislation that would have narrowed the definition of rape, limiting which victims of rape were “legitimate” enough to receive financial assistance for access to abortion care.

Mitt Romney famously says he would “get rid of” Planned Parenthood if he had the chance. And both Romney and Ryan pledge to go back to a system where insurance companies can discriminate against women and charge us more than men for the same health insurance.

Akin’s comments shouldn’t be surprising. But this isn’t about him—just like it was never about me.

President Obama has told us what he’s fighting for: “I want women to control their own health choices, just like I want my daughters to have the same opportunities as your sons.”

Republicans, led by Romney and Ryan, have made it clear that they want to make our decisions for us.

President Obama trusts us to make our own.

It’s as simple as that.

It is time for Todd Akin to step down.

“This guy Akin is more selfish than Eliot Spitzer… There’s no rehabilitating this guy. It’s a waste of money. His comments are going to cost Republicans an easy Senate seat in a moment of crisis for the nation.”

it doesn’t really matter, at this point, if akin steps aside or not…the damage has been done. he’s handed the dems a huge diversion and become the poster-boy for all the stereotypes of woman-hating, sexually-ignorant, theology-thumping republicans. the dems have already parlayed this mess into an excuse to make a Big F’n Deal out of a couple of the party’s platforms that they may have, previously, only been able to capitalize on with some difficulty and blowback. but now they can paint the coming GOP convention as a festival of backwardness and bigotry and theirs as a hymn to womanhood.
economy? what economy? we don’t need no stinkin’ talk about the economy. my worst fears that my party would be bit in the butt by the ‘social issues’ would seem to have come to pass and we’ve got this moron, akin, to thank for really getting the ball rolling.

Sandra Fluke is this political season’s Cindy Sheehan.

Why do the Democrats prey on these mentally disturbed women?

  • dnb

Ms. Fluke is now an actual women’s health advocate? Is that her professional title?

I think Sarah and Michelle and the clinton victims need to all speak at the RNC. no reason not to have a change of plans.

What’s happening is that the Russians and Chinese are waiting in the wings to promote Obama to status of dictator.

    1. First they MUST demonize the opposition.

    2. Then they have to create a crisis.

    3. THEN they have to have more boots on the ground to control the population.

Obama is a Russian agent, trained and groomed by the Soviets way back when. Son of not the Kenyan, not Davis, but MalcolmX and white Jo Ann Newman. They tried to make him irresistible to Americans–a “chocolate baby” as they call mixed race children, and the “proof” through the vote that those who voted for him are not racists (an important issue for us). Still … YAWN.

The Ruskies did pretty well at covering their tracks, but back then there was no such thing as the “information highway” and so they were sloppy by today’s standards. Which is why they’re scrambling now to cover tracks and obfuscate.

What they NEVER figure in is the American spirit–the PEOPLE, because their systems are essentially systems that serve a small elite (despite the talk which they use to fool the people in their countries). Americans already are at the bottom of this little conspiracy and it’s become a race: who will win first–the American people (enough of them) armed with the truth? Or the Soviets and Chinese via their robot Obama.

    We will see . . .

Ok. I admit it. I was wrong about this guy. His apology was lame and he’s become unhinged in ways that I could not even dream of. Someone get him off the stage please.

Every time I pass a car with a woman driver and a 2012 Obama sticker, and look inside, it is whoa…. bad bad energy. Off. Those are the diehards.

I think some Dem women just don’t know better–but they’re usually not very politically active. Just coasting. The operatives though. I totally agree.

A mountain has been made from a mole hill. It’s time the media just stop, it’s the media who is fanning the flames. Should have been a 24 news than over.

“Todd Akin said that victims of “legitimate rape” don’t get pregnant because “the female body has ways to try to shut that whole thing down.””
an utter lie. He said no such thing, but at this point I guess it doesn’t matter, because even a lot of right leaning people are repeating it. Its one of those popular culture things that people buy without question even though its complete crap.

Sandra Fluke, really? I just haven’t the words to describe this Obama campaign. What are they thinking? and where is the mind set?

We are in a time, a serious time in this nation’s economy, growth and the direction we need to on. This isn’t a Fluke or Biden moment.

What they both have said should be worse then Akin. They are created a distraction from our nation’s dire problems. Obama manipulated a war against the classes. Starting with Wall street and then the top earners in our nation.

Then when it seemed that this didn’t seem to have an affect he started on Religious freedoms and the we got one of the most have witted no body’s in America to stand up and tell a nation what Obama couldn’t, out loud, Republicans hate women.

Then the dumb witted Biden said racist things, a VICE PRESIDENT and calls for his resignation were nil.

What are the leaders doing really, we have some in the Republican party standing up but only massaging the comments made by irresponsible and irrational figures.

“For the third consecutive month, the Obama campaign spent more than it raised, assumed new debt and substantially depleted its cash-on-hand reserves, according to the organization’s Federal Election Commission filing for July.”

On deficits, Obama made it worse

Obama Sets Unemployment Record – 42 Consecutive Months Above 8%

Rep. Ryan: Obama Has No Plan for Debt Crisis

When must get back to the problems that we and our children are facing. It must be done and will take time and Obama and his distractions are reprehensible. Biden and Fluke are a distraction from all the above things I have mentioned.

Akin said what he did, apologized but I am waiting for an apology from Obama, Waters, Pelosi, Biden, Holder and too many to mention for much worse things than Akin. And now is the time for Fox News to stand up and let the liars have it. I have noticed that Hannity is doing this but all of America doesn’t watch him.

So, you and must stand up and tell everyone who will listen what is really going on in the Obama campaign and with Obama himself. Enough distractions we need to take our country back. This isn’t just words, we are looking the devil square in the face and we must stand up and denied him to enter.

This nation is our to take back, we can’t keep going down a path where our tradition are being destroyed each day. It is shameful how this government has gotten away with squandering well this:

President Obama: The Biggest Government Spender In World History

Recall, however, that in 2008 Congress was controlled by Democrat majorities, with Nancy Pelosi as Speaker of the House, and the restless Senator Obama already running for President, just four years removed from his glorious career as a state Senator in the Illinois legislature. As Hans Bader reported on May 26 for the Washington Examiner, the budget approved and implemented by Pelosi, Obama and the rest of the Congressional Democrat majorities provided for a 17.9 percent increase in spending for fiscal 2009!

Actually, President Obama and the Democrats were even more deeply involved in the fiscal 2009 spending explosion than that. As Bader also reports, “The Democrat Congress [in 2008], confident Obama was going to win in 2008, passed only three of fiscal 2009’s 12 appropriations bills (Defense, Military Construction and Veterans Affairs, and Homeland Security). The Democrat Congress passed the rest of them [in 2009], and [President] Obama signed them.” So Obama played a very direct role in the runaway fiscal 2009 spending explosion.

Experience is something that can’t be bestowed on a person, it’s something that must be earned over time. Hopefully, in the future, people won’t vote for someone who has never managed so much as a lemonade stand and expect them to be able to manage a government responsible to, and for, over three hundred million people.

This whole “War on Women” ploy was tried in Wisconsin.. Women were not fooled by this lie.. As we all know, Walker won.. I hope that the rest of the nation is wise enough to see through these tactics.. None the less this Akin fool should step down..

  • Patty

She says it without saying a word. I wouldn’t have my child do this but it certainly makes a statement.

i’m still awaiting the following Gateway Pundit post:

    August 20, 2012

[While Rep. Kerry Gauthier, 56, will lose support from fellow Democratic-
Farmer-Labor Party members if he continues with his campaign, party
leaders stopped short Monday of asking him to immediately resign

There is NO WAR ON WOMEN. A made up faction from the Axelrod Brain team.

There is NO WAR ON WOMEN. Distraction and Obama really believes that women of this great nation can be used and abused this way.

If you’re a true Christian you don’t believe in abortion.

Support your beliefs, vote Todd Akin for the Republican Missouri Senate seat.

If you want Obama out of office, vote Republican.

We have to stand firm and get the corrupt dems out of Washington.

This should be our main focus, because it’s harder to throw a dem out of office than it is to throw out a republican simply because the dems lock arms and stand together no matter what while the republicans seem to eerily ready to throw each other under the bus.
