Unbelievable.
The crew at KOB-FM interviewed Barack Obama this week. It was another one of those hard hitting media interviews asking the president about his record debt, record unemployment, failed stimulus, record deficits, broken promises… What’s your favorite song to workout to?

President Obama recorded an interview with the “Morning Mayhem” crew on KOB-FM in Albuquerque earlier this week.
Today (Friday, Aug. 17), they played the interview.
And man, was it bad.
Now, I know when somebody agrees to talk to morning DJs at a pop music station, you’re not going to get heavy policy questions — and that’s probably why the President agreed to it. Politicians of every stripe hope to get through interviews with the least amount of trouble. I’m not going to rap President Obama for doing the show.
But I will take the DJs to the woodshed.
Even by the standards of softball questions, the “mayhem” crew was particularly lame.
Among the questions:
If you had a super power, what would it be?
What’s your favorite New Mexican food?
What’s your favorite song to work out to?
The editors of Tiger Beat would ridicule this. C’mon. Even if you just wanted to ask questions about what makes the guy tick, this is the best you can up with?
What a disgrace our media has become.

The fact that they offered Obama an interview with a guy who’s face-first in the tank for him instead of asking him to sit with Todd, like Romney did, tells you everything you need to know about partisanship on cable news. Just to play devil’s advocate, though: What does O have to gain by chatting with major media figures right now, even one as friendly as Matthews? He’s trying to use these summer months to define Romney and Ryan; the more time he spends answering questions, the more the spotlight’s on him instead of them and the more opportunities Mitt has to take something he’s said and use it to go on offense. “You didn’t build that” is the perfect example, especially since O claims he was taken out of context on that. If you’re worried about inadvertently handing your opponent a hugely damaging soundbite, then yeah, you’re going to clam up. And as sycophantic as Matthews is, there’s no guarantee that he can prevent that. Imagine if he asked him a question as simple as “What are your plans for your second term?” No one knows the answer to that, Obama included, so the risk of a bad soundbite is high. Why chance it?

“So, the Egyptian Muslim Brotherhood haven’t the option to not include crucifixion within their legal code. It’s obligatory to comply with Shariah. And yes, it’s for shock value also to be sure,” Lopez said.
Lopez includes a warning for Egypt’s Christians and compares the coming treatment of the Christians to the Jews in Germany.
“The Copts must get out of Egypt as soon as possible – for the many millions who will not be able to get out, I expect things will continue to deteriorate – just as they did for Germany’s and Europe’s Jews from the 1930s onward,” Lopez said.

One would think in a dismal economy where unemployment is at 8.3 percent and 12.8 million Americans out of work, the President of the United States would be out and about, reassuring the American people that he’s serious about fixing this economy. But he’s recently been criticized for not meeting with his Jobs Council so far in 2012 and hasn’t been accountable to the media, failing to answer questions from the White House press corps for more than two months.
So what exactly has the president been up to? He’s been yukking it up with local pop music station radio DJs, fielding softball questions about New Mexican food and desirable superpowers. And the Republican National Committee has jumped all over the president’s egotistical misstep with a new ad titled “Serious Questions” hitting the president on his lack of accountability to the American people.

I never fell for the liberal media spinning how intelligent Obama was in 08, even some conservatives said this, I shook my head in disbelief. I actually felt that I must have missed something somewhere. How the talking heads could say this with a straight face.
Intelligent, no, I think Obama is one cagey and conning person. He seems to be getting by with just about anything and maybe now and then someone will come along and ask him an important question but what does Obama do, scolds or doesn’t answer.
A few journalists have tried to ask the tough questions but that was months ago. I believe in a few weeks this act Obama is pulling will implode because sooner or later he will have to answer the serious questions. His time is running out.

Someone clever should start a blog called “Obama Softball” or something and just collect all the many softball questions this American President has received……
I’d love to know how many actual press conferences without a teleprompter Obama has had so far as our Chief Executive (I know – he thinks he’s the King but that ain’t how it works in America -yet) has had compared to every American President since say…..Nixon. You know how we seem to agree that Nixon vs Kennedy brought the White House media into our homes on television.
That would be interesting.
