Former Amalgamated Transit Union local 689 president Mike Golash, now an “Occupy” movement organizer, was caught on tape Sunday revealing his political goals: overthrowing capitalism in the United States and instituting a communist government.

It’s not the first time Mike Golash called for the redistribution of wealth to the masses.
Back in December 2011 he was calling for socialist change.

    if you keep repeating the lie that socialism redistributes wealth to the masses, people are going to be for it. socialism redistributes wealth from the worker to the ruling class. if this guy was really concerned about wealth disparity the last thing he would be for is socialism. socialism creates the greatest concentration in the hands of the few of any economic system. what makes you think if you give all the wealth to the politicans they are going to give it to anybody. has that ever happened in any communist country yet. stop repeating the bullsh*t you were fed in college by your communist professors.

    I only remember bits and fragments of the actual conversation. I remember that he was particularly good at arguing the perspective of Frantz Fanon’s anti-colonial revolutionary thought. I had read Fanon, but his writing was not authoritative to me the way it seemed to be for Boss and Obama.

    FP: Tell us why this is significant today.

    Drew: I think it is significant, in part, because it helps demonstrate the impact that Frank Marshall Davis had on young Obama. It was very unusual for such a young student at Occidental College to be such an intense believer in Marxist ideology. It turns out Obama last met with Davis only about four months prior to Obama first meeting with me.
