A far left activist went on a shooting rampage at the conservative Family Research Council today.

The suspect was a 28 year-old man from Virginia. He was shouting something about the FRC’s politics and marriage equality.

The Politico reported:

A security guard at the Family Research Council in Washington, D.C., was shot Wednesday morning.

The shooting occurred on the 800 block of G Street NW, inside the Christian lobbying organization’s headquarters, FRC president Tony Perkins confirmed in a statement.

“The police are investigating this incident. Our first concern is with our colleague who was shot today. Our concern is for him and his family,” he said.

Metropolitan Police Department spokesperson Officer Araz Alali confirmed to POLITICO that one security guard, an adult male, was shot in the arm at approximately 10:50 a.m. and was conscious and breathing after the shooting. He was transported to a local hospital.

Alali said one suspect is in custody in connection with the shooting and the investigation is ongoing. There is no motive in the case yet, Alali said.

The FRC released a statement on the shooting this afternoon.

Legal Insurrection has more on the shooting.

  1. This is what happens when our folks at Homeland Security put the focus on the wrong targets, and our executive branch embraces highly violent language that incites the unstable types.

Ms. Napolitano, soccer moms, professional middle class workers, and grandmas are not the enemy! Joe Biden, to what degree did your scare language yesterday about “putting people back in chains” stir up a bunch of deranged leftists?

  2. Sorry, Multitude, but you’ll never convince Big Sis of anything. Rush is “Talent on loan from God-uh”, and Big Sis IS God. In what passes for her ‘mind’ anyway…

  3. Glad no one was seriously hurt.

I guess maybe there is a culture of hate on the part of Democrats.

  4. But we know, if the MSM comments at all, it will be that the shooter has Tea Party ties.

  5. I have nothing but praise for the Police these days. They come under fire from the criminals on a daily basis. They place their life on the line each day they walk out the door.

The spouses are worried that there may come a day that their love one won’t come back home or will be severely wounded. Yes, there are some bad apples in every bunch but they are few and far between.

All our first responders deserve the best and they deserve are respect.

Just needed to get that out of my system.

  6. Because nothing says “equality” like shooting people who have a different opinion.

  7. As the Obamunists increasingly lose the support of the voters expect them including Ovomit, Plugs, Stretch, & Dingy to incite violence against the opposition from their unhinged bse. It is going to get a lot worse before November 6th.
We have tyrant thugs in power and they & their media praetorian propagandists are not going to be civil about their impending humiliation & defeat at the polls. The Romney campaign bus went through the town where we live Monday and my yard sign was destroyed by the next morning. Too bad for the neighborhood obamunists I put up the second one that my wife got.

  8. @patty: to a great extent that’s true.

You still need to remember that these first responders have no compulsion to do this. Any first responder can stand by, watch anything bad happen and not be held liable for it. That’s been upheld time and time again in court.

First and foremost each individual is still responsible for themselves.

  9. Leftist shooter didn’t attack a ‘Gun Free Zone’… it would have been much worse.

Of course we all need to take responsibility for our safety and many even take it upon themselves to save others around them.

Courage under fire. And every day the officer must face the fact that this day could be their last.

….in my professional and personal opinion, THIS is EXACTLY what Obama, Eric and Janet WANT to happen.

[Don't you just LOVE IT when a 'Plan' comes together?]

  12. I have read the follow up reports. The guard confronted the shooter, was shot in the arm and then, with other staff, tackeled the shooter and held him until police arrived. The shooter was reported to have multiple guns and lots of ammo. Sounds like a real tragedy was averted today.

  13. It is about time someone took matters into their own hands to stand up for the right to marry their lovely sheep!!

What do you think the news would be like if this was a pro-lifer at an abortion clinic…oh we don’t have to imagine do we?

  14. One other thing….it is set that all men/women will die. After that there is either nothing, or as I believe there is an accounting for actions, thoughts, deeds, and the lack of each.

  15. A quibble: A bullet wound to a shoulder can be very serious especially if it hits nerves and bone and/or major blood vessels. If death doesn’t result there can often be major disability for the use of the arm. That security guard may not be able to work as a security guard after this.

  16. DC ?

    Evil scary-looking guns ?

    Naaaaaaaah.

Citizens are not allowed to carry toys that go bang in DC, so this latest episode of typically bitter and clinging Democrat/Leftist behavior did not actually occur.

    There’s nothing to see here.

    Move along.
