China’s popular Olympian Lin Dan or “Super Dan” sports many tattoos including a Christian Cross on his left arm.

Nearly five million Chinese Internet users on Monday posted their praise of badminton player Lin Dan after his historic defense of his Olympic gold in London.
Super Dan also has a cross on his left arm. He has never publicly said what it means.

According to Chinese media, his cross tattoo is due to his grandmother being a
Christian. Super Dan says she prays for him before every match and he loves her very much.

Seriously. Badminton? Do they also have croquet at the Olympics?

Minty, what does God’s prohibition against the people of Israel getting tattoos in c. 1000 B.C. have to do with this guy?
Anything at all?
Is this guy a Chinese Jew who follows Mosaic Law?
Taqiyyotomist commented:
It’s kinda funny how all these anti-Christian commenters like Minty like to quote scripture that they think is a fairy tale.
Very Alinsky Rule 4.
And of course, we can’t do that back to Alinskyites. How can you “make someone live up to their own book of rules” when they have none?

Well, it looks like China has become the new land of the free and home of the brave. Entrepreneurship encouraged? check. Good education system? check. Chrstianity tolerated within reason as long as it doesn’t interfere with the state? Check. A national space agency with a PLAN besides muslim outreach? check. The downside? Only 1 party dominates the political system. Hmm. That sounds like here.
Score: China wins over America hands down. What’s wrong with this picture?

@ #7: Olympic level badminton is tremendously fast and physically draining, so don’t knock it.
I saw this tattoo on Lin Dan’s arm during the match and wondered about it. Thanks for getting the backstory on it. Christians in China are still persecuted by the government. It’s actually pretty awesome that Lin Dan has this tattoo and is allowed to show it.

#15 Warren, I’ve seen videos of whole Christian congregations being rolled over with a roller-packer (what people sometimes call a steamroller) — while the pastor is forced to watch before suffering the same.
China is what Obama, and many, many people in our government, media, arts, and academia want for America.
If Obama is re-elected, they’ll get their wish.
