Wonderful.
The would-be First Lady has a moment when she’s greeted by thousands of supporters in her home state.
Politomix has the video:

Charles Krauthammer is right. They really need to change the schedule and get Ann Romney on television the night all of the networks are broadcasting the convention.

  1. Yes, I was very unhappy when I heard that her speech may not be covered by other Networks.

This is the Convention, I wonder if they will have a wide open time slot for Fluke.

  2. I put up my hand and everyone knows what that means…

I’m not from Michigan. What does that mean?

  3. Carl –

Michiganders put up their hands to show where in the state you are from. Traverse City – Tip of the fingers, Detroit below the thumb etc.

  4. #3- Thank you!

  5. I heard on the radio that because of a possible Isaac disturbance which may, or may not be a hurricane, Romney’s nomination has been moved to Monday night.

  6. Why are we supposed to care if she gets choked up?

  7. Wouldn’t that be a corker to pull the wool over the networks eyes by slipping Ann Romney in during prime time.

#3 – How far below the thumb is Detroit? Are you sure it doesn’t extend all the way up to the armpit?

BTW – I saw the documentary 2016: Obama’s America earlier today. You didn’t know Obama before the 2008 election and you may think you know what drives him now, but I believe you’ll have a real eye-opener when you see this movie. Armed with this, you will truly see what is at stake this coming election.

You can see which theaters it’s playing in here.

  8. I was not surprised when I heard ABC/NBC/CBS would not carry her speech – in 2008 they all let ol’ Mooch prattle on and loved every minute of it.

This is reason why I haven’t watched the networks in years – it’s FOX and the Military Channel for me.

Ann Romney would make a terrific role model and First Lady.

  9. OT and then there is this: Will networks have openings for them?

20,000 Muslims Warm-Up Act for Democratic National Convention

Will what Barack Obama calls “one of the prettiest sounds on earth at sunset”, the Muslim call to prayer end the first day of the kickoff to the Democratic National Convention (DNC) in Charlotte, NC?

According to the Charlotte DNC homepage, ‘The Jumah at the 2012 DNC’ will welcome some 20,000 Muslims to Charlotte, DEM-dubbed an “official event”.

‘Jumah at the 2012 DNC’ starts Friday afternoon, Aug. 31 jumah prayer followed by a myriad of other as yet unidentified programs and events, but leading up to the Islam Regal Banquet. (halal, of course).[.............]

  10. #6 “Why are we supposed to care if she gets choked up?”

If you need to ask you wouldn’t understand the answer.

  11. OT: http://www.nytimes.com/2012/08/25/world/asia/chinas-missile-advances-aimed-at-thwarting-us-defenses-analysts-say.html

This while Obama wants to dismantle our military might.
This while Iran is on the verge of becoming a nuclear power.
This while Islamofascism is infecting the entire globe.

  12. Networks would rather have fewer viewers than let a gold mine for hte GOP in.

What bet though that if Biden makes some noise they put some cameras on him?

  13. Maybe the reason they will not put Mrs Romney on during the convention is because the lib media is afraid she will put a big dent in Obies lock on his base of single voting women.
I believe if Ann’s speech is aired she will steal a lot of woman’s vote who are sitting on the ledge right now.
This is a wonderful women who could have a real effect on women voters, and the Liberal media is scared to death of her. Just as they were with Sarah Palin.

  14. And # 8……They will do the same thing this year. There is no way you think those networks will cut Moochies speech do you ?
As a matter of fact she will go on a sorrowful speech (lie) on how bad the GOP has treated women for all these years, and they will replay it 24/7 for 2 weeks.

Right after they blame Ann Romney’s horse for the pollution and unusual heatwave in Massachusetts.

  15. I live in the thumb of Michigan, and yes it is 160 miles north of Detroit. We are surrounded by water, lots of trees, farm land and one of the most beautiful areas in the states. We are mostly conservative and republican in the thumb. The unions and democrats are in the bigger population areas, and are the towns with the largest unemployement and crime. Sadly though as the big cities go, and the auto industry has left us, many smaller communities were left with high unemployment and many have left empty houses looking for work in North Dakota and many others have went south. Funny how years ago, many came from the south to here to work in the auto industry. Now it is just the reverse.

I have a picture of me and my older and younger brother standing in front of George Romney. My parents thought a lot of Gov. George Romney, and we are common small town folk, but he graciously stood for a young father to get a picture with the three eldest children of a family with seven kids. And, no we are not Mormons, we are Methodists. I know that even in the democrat county to the south of us, many are voting for Romney. Jobs and the economy are the reason, even as the new Republican Gov has turned many things around, we need a Romney in the Whitehouse.

  16. #18 Mj: What a lovely comment – thank you!

  17. And bit off topic, but for all the freaks and poopie heads out there. Romney talking about his and Ann’s birth place and no questions about his birth, YOU NUTS JOBS ON THE LEFT ARE WAY TO SICK AND DEPRESSING.
