The Obama 2012 Campaign sent out this email recently inviting Democrats to the DNC Convention in Charlotte at “Panthers Stadium.”

This email may have surprised their host city since there is no Panthers Stadium. There never was a Panthers Stadium.
The DNC Convention will be held at Bank of America stadium… But Democrats currently have a war against the rich, business owners, doctors, white men, stay at home moms, bankers so they switched the stadium name to Panthers.
It’s one of the drawbacks to running a campaign based on the politics of division.
The Politico reported, via JWF:
National Democrats have repeatedly touted their stand against taking corporate money for their convention in September, and so it was striking to see two emails from the DNC host committee referring to the Charlotte venue where President Obama will speak as “Panthers Stadium.”
It’s the place where the Panthers play, but it’s actually called Bank of America stadium.
A recent email from the host committee signed by former Al Gore campaign manager Donna Brazile urged people to win a trip to Charlotte for the event, which will wrap “Thursday night at Panthers Stadium with President Obama.”
Another email in June made the same pitch about the stadium.
A host committee spokeswoman didn’t respond to an email. But it’s not like the stadium was ever called Panthers Stadium – first opened in 1996, it was Carolinas Stadium, and later Ericsson Stadium. Then the current corporate iteration.

Given all the no-shows, I recommend we start calling it PUMA Stadium.

Fake name for a fake party

Why do they hate Warren Buffet ?

I think Panthers is an appropriate name for the dems to give the stadium, since the Dems illegally back the criminal Black Panthers by perverting the law to defend the group in their racist voter intimidation quest. Naming it Panthers Stadium should have the Black Panthers and how the Dems spiked the case against them that was already won talked about. Then people can talk about how Bank of America really paid for the name of the stadium, too. Win-win!
Stonedome commented:
Should be easy to tell if the networks go in the tank for Obama on this one, since it is an apparent lie. Imagine how they manipulate information when it isn’t so obvious. BTW, are the Panthers and the NFL going to allow them to use their name without permission or compensation?
Stonedome commented:
Wait, Black Panther Stadium…

Robert Hersey, it’s nothing personal against Buffet. The Dems are banking–pardon the pun– on a “LIBOR/Banksters” attack on Romney, probably around the time of their Charlottan convention, to follow up on their “Secret Offshore Banking” attack , and it’s unhelpful to be associated in any other way with the word “Bank” right now.

Reminds me of the time years ago when SMU was tearing it up with Craig James and Eric Dickerson. ABC did a SMU game and I was puzzled when Keith jackson kept calling SMU The Ponies. Everyone knows SMU is The Mustangs. Then I realized that ABC’s NCAA FB had been sponsored forever by Chevrolet and the GM people didn’t want a constant reminder of the competition. The sportswriters were highly critical, unlike today’s political media who will not even mention this bit of ledgerdemain.

Hmmmm. Is the name of a stadium trademarked or copyrighted? If it is should the Bank of America which paid good money to name the building litigate to recoup losses?

If BoA litigated, guess who would pay the settlement? The taxpayers.
So, yeah, that’s probably the screwing we’ll get out of this.

This should be a real campaign issue to be exploited immediately by Romney team to illustrate what totalitarianism looks like.
A sports stadium is where the heart of America lives. It is as common coinage as sex. It is emotionally attaching to exactly the voters Romney needs. And Obama’s treatment of this stadium as a pawn in his self-god image can and should personify the reality of his philosophical and psychological issues in a way nothing else can.
If this story is as it seems to be then Romney can use it to show regular folks they are on the wrong end of class warfare, and they are nothing but pawns in one man’s over-bounding ambition.

Obama owes banks. So, what else is NEW!
Ripped commented:
Barry sure seems to like Bank Of America when they are donating to his campaign, just like he likes all the rest of the big corporate donors. As a matter of fact he and Romney have a lot of the same big corporate campaign contributors.
The bigger problem is Romney and 0bama agree on too many issues.
NO SIGNIFICANT DIFFERENCE!!!

Yeah, right.
Why not call it the Toilet Bowl, since that seems to be the predominant source of and home to much of the Dem campaign strategy, vocabulary, attacks and “essence”?
