Muslim Activist Who Fought Against Islamophobia Arrested on Terrorism & Gun-Running Charges

A Canadian woman who spoke out against the horrors of Islamophobia was arrested on terrorism and gunrunning charges in Canada.

A Quebec woman who was once active in a youth group that fought stereotypes against Muslims has been charged with terrorism for allegedly trying to smuggle weapons to Hezbollah.

The RCMP said Friday Mouna Diab, 26, had been charged with a terrorism count after an investigation found she had bought firearms in the Montreal area to ship to the Iranian-sponsored terror group.

Ms. Diab is the first woman to be charged under provisions of the Anti-terrorism Act passed by Parliament in response to the 9/11 attacks.

The case also marks the first time Canadian police have laid criminal charges in connection with Hezbollah; previous cases all concerned pro-al-Qaeda groups or the Tamil Tigers of Sri Lanka….

Ms. Diab was vice-president of the Association of Young Lebanese Muslims and was part of a delegation that traveled to Herouxville, Que., in 2007 in an attempt to counter stereotypes of Muslims she said were “hurtful.”

Why would Hezbollah seek help from someone in anti-gun Canadia to send them two semi-auto AR-15s when they are supported by Iran and Syria?

Yeah, it appears she was apparently willing to help terrorists, but I’m skeptical it was actually Hezbollah that made the request.

Stereotypes are derived from actual behavior or physical attributes. Usually they represent the more flamboyant aspects of a people rather than just the common ones. It means that the stereotype may not really exist or that very few individuals would exhibit most of the attributes. For instance, white supremecists were stereotyped in the movie The Blues Brothers (the Blues Brothers were on a mission from God).

It was true, in that they are an organized hate group but larger than life for the nazi uniforms etc. in the movie. Real white supremecists might only have what’s in their hearts.

However the opposite is also true. A stereotype can be both flamboyant and common. In the case of radical islam the old adage is usually true: If it walks like a duck, looks like a duck and quacks like a duck, it’s a duck (however it’s actually said).

So yes case in point.
