LONDON OLYMPICS OPEN – Queen Parachutes Into Stadium James Bond Style (Video)

The London Olympics opened today in spectacular fashion-
The “Queen” Parachuted In–

Sir Steve Redgrave carries the Olympic torch into the Stadium, after David Beckham accompanied it into Stratford on a speedboat
Seven young athletes then light the cauldron
Breathtaking firework display lights up the sky above east London
Queen makes spectacular appearance in simulated helicopter arrival with James Bond star Daniel Craig
Monarch tells the world: ‘I declare open the Games of London, celebrating the 30th Olympiad of the modern era’
Tour de France champion Bradley Wiggins started the Opening Ceremony by ringing the giant Olympic Bell
Rowan Atkinson joins the orchestra as Mr Bean for a comedy skit
Sir Kenneth Branagh reads from Shakespeare’s The Tempest
Dizzee Rascal and Emeli Sande perform
The audience have been handed 3D glasses and every seat has a magic wand with it
Red Arrows fly past the stadium leaving trail of red, white and blue vapour at 20:12 exactly
Danny Boyle tweets ‘Proud to be British’

UPDATE: Not everyone was impressed with the production tonight.

The tribute to their National Healthcare Service was even more awful.

They over did it on paying tribute to British music.

I did enjoy the James Bond/Queen moment, I wasn’t expecting that.

The fireworks was impressive.

I watched the opening ceremonies on BBC online, because NBC sucks.

Also, I watched the opening ceremonies streaming live on BBC since NBC wanted people to pay for their streaming live coverage.

NBC didn’t show the opening ceremonies live on one of their networks, it was taped delayed.

If they’re going to show the games on a taped delayed basis, they’re going to have terrible rating. Couldn’t happen to a more bias network.

Too many scandals, too much rigging etc… Holyfield, Roy Jones, the 72 Basketball team. I hope the USA team does well and all but sorry, I’m still bitter.

Worst I have ever seen. Turned it off and I am usually a HUGE fan. A large high school with a field and a couple of cranes could have done the same or better. Just terrible, boring and mercilessly sloppy. Just UGH!!!

Until the NAZI’s and PLO sympathizers are removed from the IOC, there will be no televised Olympics in this household. Shame on all of them — They have a lot to regret.
