Iowa Professor Claims Jesus Was a Muslim (Video)

Prof. Robert F. Shedinger, the head of the religion department at Luther College in Iowa, told ITCTV back in 2010 that Jesus was a Muslim.
(Mohammed was born six centuries after Christ!)
This crackpot is still pushing his nonsensical thesis that Jesus was a Muslim.

The head of the religion department at Luther College in Iowa recently argued that Jesus Christ, the central figure of Christianity, was in fact, a Muslim.
“‘Was Jesus a Muslim?” asks Prof. Robert F. Shedinger in the beginning of a book he published this year entitled Was Jesus a Muslim? ” I will answer with a very qualified yes.”
In a recent interview Shedinger also defended his controversial thesis explaining that a Muslim undergraduate student had sent him on academic odyssey that culminated with him asking himself “Was Jesus a Muslim?”
“Even as a Christian I have to answer yes to that,” said Shedinger, who is the head of the religion department at Luther College in Iowa.
Shedinger also argued that Islam is a better fit for Jesus since it is not a religion but a “social justice movement.”
“I had to rethink what Islam is… I came to the conclusion that it was a social justice movement and I think that’s who Jesus was in the first century so I conclude Jesus is more like a Muslim,” he said.
The vast majority of scholars, historians, Muslims, and Christians date the birth of Islam to 622 ADE when the Prophet Muhammad claimed to have received visions that were eventually compiled into the Koran. Jesus, on the other hand, is believed to have existed more than 600 years earlier, at around 0 BCE.

How does he explain that Jesus stopped the stoning of a woman accused of adultery while Mohammed joined right in tossing rocks when he got his chance.
The different actions of Jesus and Mohammed in that one situation explain everything one needs to know why Christianity is good and Islam is evil.

A ‘social justice system’? Sure. I bet if you ask any gay person, they would agree wholeheartedly. I bet if you ask any 10-year-old girl who’s been forced to marry a 50-year-old stranger, they’d agree too. And all those women who can’t drive or go outside without a male chaperone? The Anti-Christ lived 14 centuries ago. He planted his seed and we have been paying for it since. He has been beaten back several times, but his dominion is relentless. easy to prove, the bible never reports that jesus ever blew anything up. Also the bible doesnt talk of jesus leading other people in jihad or beheadings. Jesus would have never been allowed in a mosque because of his peaceful ways but also because he was jewish.

Jesus told us to love our enemies and do good to them. The Koran tells Muslims to kill, convert, or force dhimmi status upon all infidels (enemies). Also, Jesus stopped the Jews from stoning the woman caught in adultery. Muslims shoot, behead, and throw acid in the faces of women caught in adultery. And Jesus is the Son of God. Allah has no sons.
Jesus did not preach the tenets of the Koran. Jesus is not a Muslim. Allah is not God.

He follows the same path of “logic” as Roberts on ObamaCare: reasoning backward from what he wants to prove, deciding what points to argue (and which ones to leave out) in order to pretend that he’s making sense…

PS- Jesus was NOT a “social justice” kind of guy, Prof. Shedinger! He was into the “personal relationship with God” thing, where “what’s in your heart” is more important than the “outward signs of piety”. If Jesus had wanted “social justice” he would have denounced slavery, called capital punishment evil, and urged Caesar to “spread the wealth around”. Instead, Jesus took the view that the circumstances you were born into weren’t that important [again: NOT "social justice" in any way]. The IMPORTANT thing is that all men –slave, merchant, nobleman– are flawed, prideful, and easily led astray; our goal is to work on improving OURSELVES: on keeping God’s commandments, building our characters, and being mindful that on Judgment Day each of us will stand before our Creator and have to give an accounting of everything we did (or didn’t do, but should have).

The lie is always inserted with an element of truth. Indeed, Islam is more of a (expansionistic, tyrannical, violent and oppressive) political ideology than a religion. The word ‘Islam’ itself does not mean ‘peace’, it means ‘submission’. Remember that.
However, Christ brings salvation from sin. Salvation is not a political movement.
As Captain Carrol LeFon (Neptunus Lex, RIP) wrote: ‘All you need to know is this: Our guy [Christ] died for your sake. Their guy [Allah] will kill you for his sake.’
May Robert Shedinger come to repentance and return to Christ.
