OBAMA FLASHBACK:
Obama promises to cut taxes for the Middle Class:
(From an October 2008 campaign speech)
Today the Supreme Court ruled the Obamacare mandate was a tax.
Barack Obama now owns the largest tax in US history. Obamacare will cost over $1.76 trillion in ten years.
Take that, 99%ers!
Sarah Palin added:
Obama lied to the American people. Again. He said it wasn’t a tax. Obama lies; freedom dies.

“If once the people become inattentive to the public affairs, you and I, and Congress and Assemblies, Judges and Governors, shall all become wolves. It seems to be the law of our general nature, in spite of individual exceptions.”

Mekan commented:
“Experience hath shewn, that even under the best forms (of government) those entrusted with power have, in time, and by slow operations, perverted it into tyranny”
Thomas Jefferson
FurryGuy commented:
And that Barry did it in the swift span of less than 4 years shows how many Americans don’t care about being ruled by a tyrannical government. Less than 1/3 of colonists supported declaring independence from England.
Larkin commented:
This all semantics.
If obamacare is a “tax”, then the gov’t can force us to do ANYTHING, and just call it a tax.
It’s more like a POX.
Mad Hatter commented:
If for some reason Romney is not elected, I will not buy Government Run Healthcare.
I will go to jail.
Enough people refuse to comply, and the jails will be flooded with non violent offenders.
We can not allow this to stand.
Tom63010 commented:
The Obama Administration told American people the mandate was “not a tax”, the Federal lawyers argued before them that “the mandate is not a tax” and then the court said even though you argued before us that it is not a tax we are ruling that this law is Constitutional because the mandate can be changed to a tax!
FurryGuy commented:
There is the crux of the entire decision; the government now has the SCOTUS approved power to force us to do ANYTHING they want us to do, simply by declaring it a tax.

This does a few things for the Conservative cause:
No libtard can ever again say this court is extreme right.
The congress has been limited in Commerce Clause power.
Obama can now be called a liar on “no taxes for the middle class” for the rest of the election cycle, dragging the rest of the demsluts down with him. To say it isn’t a tax then send lawyers to court to call it taxes, then have the Supreme Court put TAX in bold, is a big talking point.
States can opt out, which will prevent the liberal dream “universal health care”.
Republicans are fired up, and hopefully the next congress will start impeaching some judges, and will more carefully scrutinize judicial appointments.
The bad news:
More confusion for employers, which means the economy doesn’t get the boost that defeating Obamacare would have provided. But if this causes Romney to surge, that will boost the stock market and economy.
bigL commented:
Since it wasn’t split outasa tax, and not created and voted on separately as a tax by the H of R, Wher money issues originate, perhaps it can be challenged a new.
Blue Hen commented:
I’m confused. Did SCOTUS do him a big favor, or did they wrap it in barbed wire and hand it on back?
Robodog7 commented:
This is a behavor tax, this court has just ruled that the federal government can force you to behave anyway they decide and tax you if we don’t comply. Freedom as we knew it died today.
It may be time for some states to suceed from the union if we are to be free.

The Social Security act passed because it was declared a tax. Justice Roberts demonstrated in today’s ruling that all you have to do to coerce the American people is to label something a tax.
At the founding of America Brutus [a pseudonym] wrote an article in which he pointed out a weakness in the Constitution. It has never been corrected. This weakness was very much in evidence when Justice Roberts and five others on the court said that Obama-care fees and fines could be called a tax. Judas has spoken! Roberts should do what Judas did. He should hang himself the turn coat bstard.

The schellacking is coming in November. Vote in Tea Party patriots, not progressives on either side. We need to repeal, and IMPEACH the lying person pretending to be president of all of us.
FurryGuy commented:
Social Security became a massive government slush fund for Congress to gain and retain power over people by the carrot and stick of “guaranteed” retirement for people. Congress now has virtual entire control over people’s lives by being able to deny medical care. And the influx of ready cash for Congress to waste has increased astronomically.
Larkin commented:
SCOTUS: “It’s a tax.”
TOTUS: “No, it’s not.”
POTUS: “What TOTUS said.”
Media: “No, it’s not.”
Republican Establishment: “…crickets…”
Case closed.

Were all doomed. I expect the Republican Pansies to fold on the contempt vote now to overcome their white guilt in an effort to show bipartisanship. All you people that think we have a chance in November get over it everyone talks tough but no one ever commits this clown wins by a land slide come November. All you sheep out there will still pretend we’re gonna get something done what good is dry powder when you’re afraid to use it. Nothing but a bunch of pansy a$$ sheep.
