Michelle Obama preached to a conference of the African Methodist Episcopal church yesterday. She urged her black audience to vote.

Michelle also told athe conference attendees that Jesus was out there everyday speaking “truth to power.”
Yahoo-ABC reported:

First lady Michelle Obama Thursday offered a rare public reflection on her religious faith, telling a conference of the African Methodist Episcopal church that the life of Jesus Christ is a model for democratic organizing.

“It’s kind of like church,” Obama said. “Our faith journey isn’t just about showing up on Sunday for a good sermon and good music and a good meal. It’s about what we do Monday through Saturday as well, especially in those quiet moments, when the spotlight’s not on us, and we’re making those daily choices about how to live our lives.

“We see that in the life of Jesus Christ. Jesus didn’t limit his ministry to the four walls of the church,” she said. “He was out there fighting injustice and speaking truth to power every single day. He was out there spreading a message of grace and redemption to the least, the last, and the lost. And our charge is to find Him everywhere, every day by how we live our lives.”

  1. Fighting injustice every single day? Well, no. Not how she defines injustice. And He went willingly to the greatest UN-just act ever done by humanity: His crucifixion.

  2. In related news MO was quoted while attending a banquet after the Methodist Episcopal speech as saying “Pass the fries”

  3. Jeremiah 1:5 ” “Before I formed you in the womb I knew you, before you were born I set you apart; I appointed you as a prophet to the nations.”

  4. YUP – “Its in the bible – G** Damn America”

  5. I don’t know which version of the Bible the Obama’s are reading, but it’s not the one I’m familiar with.

  6. Jesus believed the book of Genesis was truth and quoted from it at length. What does Michele think about that?

  7. Get ready for this b*tch to do some major vacationing.

  8. She is hitting the road hard telling women FREE CONTRACEPTION FOR ALL.

    FREE DRUGS FOR SENIORS

    FREE VACCINATIONS

EVERY THING IS FREE, FREE AT LAST.

WELL, we are going to pay in one of the BIGGEST taxes IN THE HISTORY OF AMERICA.

How are those vacations working out for You, Mo.

  9. Words mean something. Twisting the words of the Lord for political gain sounds like blasphemy. But I she will be accountable if that is what she is up to.

Maybe on her next vacation, she can pay her children as spiritual advisors, rather than senior staffers. Just to coincide with the new found faith. Problem solved.

  10. How could she see the bible through the quoran?

  11. I started to wonder what idiot sent her out to sing the praises of “speaking truth to power” the DAY AFTER her husband, the President of the United FRICKIN’ States was simultaneously gloating AND telling people to learn their place and not contest obamatax. Then I realized; maybe it was the same genius who combined the so-called war on women with “take that mother******s”.

So will she be sending out manuals on when, where and to whom we can speak this truth? Will there be an approved list published by the Ministry of Truth?

  12. Truth to power?

What power is she talking about?

Her husband is the power…does she not even understand how stupid that statement makes her sound?
Is she fighting the injustice this government under her husband is doing?

    WTF is she talking about?

Obamacare: $1 monthly ‘abortion surcharge’ to be included in healthcare exchange plans

The biggest issue that many people had in the debate leading up to the passage of the Obamacare legislation was the fact that most Representatives and Senators who would be voting on the bill didn’t bother to read the legislation they would be voting on. Congressman John Conyer actually asked what good it would do to read the bill because the Congress still wouldn’t know what was in it unless they each hired two lawyers, and Nancy Pelosi famously quipped “we have to pass the bill to find out what’s in it.”

But what went underreported in my opinion was the fact that even if all the Congressmen had read the bill, and had enough lawyers to explain to them what was in the bill, they still wouldn’t know what was going to be in the final bill because the legislation tasked Health and Human Services Secretary Kathleen Sebelius with creating certain Obamacare guidelines AFTER the legislation was signed into law.

    This unelected official was given an extraordinary amount of power and it seems as if there is little we can do about it now. We saw the first results of this little known provision a couple of weeks ago with the contraception mandate, and today we are learning about another new guideline which Kathleen Sebelius is preparing to hand down; people who enroll in a healthcare exchange plan will be required to pay a $1 ‘abortion surcharge’ every month on their plans.{..}

  15. The people who write her speeches did an adequate and predictable job until they allowed themselves to invent a South Side interpretation of Scripture.

I’m sure “Truth to Power” and all of its entitlement trappings will soon be capped with a claim that Jesus Christ secretly greeted the Apostles with what has become known as a fist bump.

Today’s real truth is found in the comments of the People, when they proclaim that there is nothing sacred to Obama except for power – maybe that’s what she was trying to say.

  16. jesus was all about speaking to spriual principles. he was famous for saying giving to caesar what is his and God’s to God. he was not there as a political leader or military commander.
liar liar mooch, that piece of cloth hanging from your huge backside is one fire.

  17. Actually through eternal love God fought justice not injustice. For it is just for all man/woman to perish, but through His forgiveness He provided a way through death to life.

Six days before the Passover, Jesus arrived at Bethany, where Lazarus lived, whom Jesus had raised from the dead. 2Here a dinner was given in Jesus’ honor. Martha served, while Lazarus was among those reclining at the table with him. 3Then Mary took about a pinta of pure nard, an expensive perfume; she poured it on Jesus’ feet and wiped his feet with her hair. And the house was filled with the fragrance of the perfume.

4But one of his disciples, Judas Iscariot, who was later to betray him, objected, 5“Why wasn’t this perfume sold and the money given to the poor? It was worth a year’s wages.b” 6He did not say this because he cared about the poor but because he was a thief; as keeper of the money bag, he used to help himself to what was put into it.

7“Leave her alone,” Jesus replied. “[It was intended] that she should save this perfume for the day of my burial. 8You will always have the poor among you, but you will not always have me.”

He was saying that there was no stopping injustice in this world. It is the way of things.

  18. So did she speak “truth to African Methodists” about Gays? Or did that subject not…..arise? Or the disparate effect the ‘recovery summer III’ was having on the African American population of the US? I seem to remember the lovely leftists saying that different results were proof that some sort of evvvvvvvviiilll was going on.

  19. Funny, I must have missed that part about worshipping your government…
