Biden to DC Youths: Romney’s Going After Granny’s Medicare

When you can’t run on your record you fear monger.
Joe Biden told a crowd of young people that Mitt Romney is going after their grandparent’s Medicare and Medicaid… And he’s going to throw sick children under the bus.
The Politico reported, via Weasel Zippers:

Vice President Joe Biden rallied a standing-room-only crowd of young people in a DC theater on Tuesday night by inviting the audience to envision what the country would look like with Republicans in charge.

“Does anybody in this audience think that had the other team won, the war in Iraq would be over right now?” Biden said. “Does anybody think had the other team won, Don’t Ask Don’t Tell would have been repealed?” He followed with similar questions about instituting stricter fuel efficiency standards, installing two female Supreme Court Justices and signing the Lilly Ledbetter Fair Pay Act for women.

Each time the crowd responded with a resounding “No!”

Biden then invited them to envision what will happen if Mitt Romney is elected.

He noted that he never thought the country would be revisiting the debate over contraception in 2012.

“What else will we be revisiting if there’s a Romney presidency and a Republican Congress?” he asked. “Who do you think they’ll put on the Supreme Court? What do you think will happen to your grandparents’ Medicare and Medicaid? How about children and pre-existing conditions, what do you think will happen to them?”

Of course, it was Democrats who cut $500 billion from Medicare with their partisan health care plan.
But, since when have facts mattered to this administration?

This is the dictionary definition of demagogue and demagoguery. They have no record that they can run (at least no successful record) therefore they they use lies to generate fearful “emotions, passions, and prejudices of the people.”

  • I wonder if these students even know what an uncharitable tightwad is.

If they read a dictionary it would be under “B” as in Biden

But, since when have facts mattered to this administration?

    Ain’t that the truth…

Michelle Obama, the nation’s pre-eminent childhood nutritionist, has been arguing that much of the childhood obesity problem is due to the fact that too many urban children live in “food deserts,” lacking access to fresh fruits and vegetables, etc. But, as the New York Times’ Gina Kolata reports today, it isn’t true:

But two new studies have found something unexpected. Such neighborhoods not only have more fast food restaurants and convenience stores than more affluent ones, but more grocery stores, supermarkets and full-service restaurants, too. And there is no relationship between the type of food being sold in a neighborhood and obesity among its children and adolescents. . .

Uncle Joe is a freaking pig, a liar and a traitor. Yeah, Joe, you turd, the war in Iraq is over, and Obama lost.

  • Last year in Indianapolis, he warned students that if Obama’s job-bill did not pass there would be no money for police, they could end up be sodomized like Gaddafi………..……

Re #8 — You may have heard Mooch is telling everyone,

“Barack has taken us from the darkness into the light.”

Egad…She’s really embraced the big, fat fib thing…

Remember the good old days when she’d let the truth out every now and then?

“…she told audiences that her husband is “snore-y and stinky” in the morning…”

That’s the Mooch we fell in love with.

    Oh, boy. More lies:

As the presidential campaign swirls around a war for the allegiance of American women, the Obama campaign is relying on an explosive — and highly questionable — charge to draw pro-choice women into the President’s camp: That Mitt Romney would “outlaw abortion” if elected.

The claim first surfaced in a document posted to the campaign’s website Wednesday titled, “5 Things You Need To Know About Mitt Romney.” The last bullet point — which has been retweeted by Barack Obama and his campaign staffers over the past 24 hours— says, “He’d get rid of Planned Parenthood and outlaw abortion.”

tsk! tsk! There they go again!

Joe forget to tell them that they now owe the U.S. treasury $117,000 each. So thanks for that, too Joe.

    you lie biden you BF!

Everybody receiving medicare will stay on it. Only newbie’s will have to opt for the health care voucher plan. In which this plan is similar to the congressional plan.

  • FurryGuy

So this administration signs a fair pay for women act and still WH staff women are paid LESS than the men? You mention that Un’ca Joe?

And the last time I looked the war in Iraq is still not over yet, despite the best efforts of the Left to declare defeat and retreat.

like #1 pointed out demagoguery to the max, something american tass will never point out.

#19…630 people well murdered in iraq this week, but that isnt the hell of war, its the glory of revolution.

  • Formerly known as Skeptic

MY Answers to some of his rhetorical questions:

War in Iraq: Yes, per the same timeline Bush agreed to and Obama followed, and since the message would have been “we’ll stay longer if necessary” instead of “we’re leaving no matter what” I think there would be less violence there today.

Contraception: Aren’t they the ones who started “revisiting the debate.”

Supreme Court: Judges who rule per the Constitution and aren’t selected for their demographics and partisan leanings, isn’t that who we’re SUPPOSED to be putting on the court?

Medicare and Medicaid: Redesigned to put them on a sound financial footing instead of raided for funds and left to collapse catastrophically in the future.

But, thoughtful answers aren’t what he was looking for, just reflexive talking point responses.

if Obama et al plans for the future oneness goes well (and so far
they have), there won’t be any debt, as the brave new scientific
world order is all about Elitism and serfdom (they acquire all the
wealth, and dole it out as they deem fit)..
