Israel Disappointed In Meeting With Obama; US Will Do Nothing Because Of Election Year

According to ynetnews.com, Israel is very dissapointed after the meeting about Iran with President Obama. It seems, not surprisingly, that Obama doesn’t want to have anything to do with forceably shutting down Iran’s Nuclear program because it’s an election year:
“Israeli state officials were disappointed Tuesday with the results of the Netanyahu-Obama meeting at the White House on Monday. “There were no surprises,” a senior state official said. “It was clear from recent months that there are differences between ourselves and the Americans. We have different perspectives when it comes to the question of time and red lines.”
It was claimed that the Americans view the Iranian issue in the context of the upcoming presidential elections. “It’s a bad message for the issue and a good message for the Iranians,” a state official said.”
…”As of yet, there is no decision to attack but we’ll see what tomorrow brings,” a senior official close to the talks with the Americans said. “Right now we are certain the Americans won’t do anything and we need to decide what to do.”

Iran needs to be smacked down, and it needed to be smacked down yesterday. The State of Israel will be going it alone, but it will not be a war they will fight alone in the end. If the State of Israel attacks Iran before the election, Obama will make a political influenced choice to go to war. If the State of Israel is in need of support militarily, the outcry in America may mean he will go to war, but if the State of Israel has the upper hand, Obama will stand down and use this inaction to his benefit.
I suggest to the Iranian people, to those who want out of the Islamic-mullah rule, they have a plan to be no where need any strategic militarily targets….and to be able to move at a moments notice.

Many of us who comment on Mr. Hoft’s site are veterans or currently serving this country. I hold to John Kennedy’s description of the Navy:

Obama will attack Israel, only if it benefits him in the election. Timing is also the issue. A strike v. Iran in August, Sept., Oct is when Obama would send US forces because that is when he could use that attack to rally support for the war and himself.
However, if Obama wins a 2nd term, God forbid, then what you’ll see is an all out effort by Obama to abandon Israel with Obama using the ‘we’ve tried and tried and tried to be reasonable with the Israeli’s but THEY just won’t work with us’-excuse. Obama doesn’t need to attack Israel ala Samantha Power’s plan, he just needs to ‘wash his hands’ of them. He can withdraw diplomatic, economic, and military support and set Israel up to be attacked by its neighbors.
I hope and pray this doesn’t happen, but I fear the wretched independents will vote for Obama and give him a 2nd term.

Obama supposedly promised Iran that the U.S. would say that Iran doesn’t have any nukes and then Iran was supposed to reciprocate by handing over its uranium. U.S. generals have since come out and said that Iran doesn’t have any nuclear weapons but Iran has thus far failed to reciprocate on the deal at which point the Muslim Brotherhood sitting in the oval office says that he’s not bluffing. http://obamalies.net/

I to have served. I served in the U.S. Army! I loved every minute of it, but got out because the Army was pushing out anyone who had to much combat training, and to much combat time, like me on both counts. The Army said I would not be compatible in a “peace time Army”. So I was “let” out. I call it being “let loose” onto American society to be used at a later date to defend the Constitutional Republic from it’s enemies both foreign and DOMESTIC!!!
But I agree with you and #11 and #13 when it comes to how we should deal with Iran. But I disagree in context with the rest of you who think Obama will go to war with Iran if it attacks Isreal. If, and I don’t use that word loosely, IF, Iran attacks Israel with nukes will have the rest of the world to deal with, not just us. The one thing you have to look at is, go to the weather channel or some weather site and look at prevailing winds that blow across Israel. Which direction do they blow? That’s right. Right across Russia and China. There would be radioactive fallout falling on all those countries, including Iraq, Iran, Afghanistan, Pakistan, and the whole region would be getting it. That would suck!
Israel is positioned in a zone like no other where there are four distinct regions of wind circulation. Each one taking radioactive fallout across every corner of the world. You want all that stuff going everywhere at one time? Obama doesn’t and neither does Iran. That is if either one knows what the weather is over Israel. It would be better to just go there and bomb it with iron bombs, but who has the guts to go up against the Israeli Air Force? They go through our “Top Gun” training, but then again Iran did to, didn’t they? Or was it just regular training. I do know for a fact that only one Iranian was a science officer on board one of our Space Shuttle missions, I’ve got the patch from that mission. Iran has a Air Force but I don’t think there is anyone who has the expertise to go up against F-16′s who are as good as our Navy pilots!
The whole damn thing would be a blood bath for somebody, and I think it would be Iran. And we don’t need to be sending our troops to any Iran, unless we want to see a 98% killing of our troops because it would be like our soldiers going to Japan during WWII. Every kid who could pick up a AK would be shooting at our troops from the very first second. This is one war we need to stay out of. Maybe we could send F-117′s or B-52′s, I would be for that. Let the Iranian’s eat thousand pounders. I have been on location when those damn things went off. One of the jobs my company did in Vietnam was what was called, “bomb assessment” missions where we would be put into some isolated place in the jungle to look at damage from B-52 strikes to look for bodies, clothing, equipment, trucks, etc.. They were always exciting because of the possibility of the enemy doing the same thing to try to pick up anything that wasn’t destroyed.
Obama had better think about disappointing his big time supporters from the anti-war groups. Also to, we don’t have that many soldiers left after he’s done all this cutting and slashing. We also don’t have any money left in our military either. Don’t you remember he took a half a trillion dollars from it a few weeks ago? What can we do with a couple of thousand left to buy some bullets with?
