Senators Push Resolution to Bomb, Bomb, Bomb Iran

Remember this…
John McCain singing “Bomb, Bomb, Bomb Iran”

A bipartisan group of US senators today pushed legislation to declare it “unacceptable” for Iran to obtain nuclear capability.
ABC reported:

ABC News’ Sunlen Miller and Daniel Steinberger report:

Responding to the renewed threat of a nuclear Iran, a bipartisan group of senators today introduced a resolution that declares it “unacceptable” for Iran to obtain nuclear capability.

“This Congress needs to speak,” Sen. Lindsey Graham, R-S.C., said at a press conference today. “This resolution, we hope, will get almost unanimous support from Republicans and Democrats.”

So far, 32 Senators have signed the resolution and the senators hope to add more support soon.

The resolution is not an authorization for the use of military force but emphasizes the need to keep all options on the table.

Lady Lindsey will be pretty proud of himself when he is remembered in history as the jack@$$ who helped install Husseen as the dick-tater, on USA

Old white haired warmongers. Nuclear bomb is the new WMD, and Iran is the new Iraq. If you think about it, a decade ago we were doing the same thing with Iraq.

  • tj

WOW again.. that’s almost as many Senators as objected to the Kohmen foundation dropping funding for PP!

  • NeoKong

The media has been slowly floating this meme for weeks. Last week they were doing stories on the build up in the Straits of Hormuz. They are all over Syria too.
Couple that with the latest stories on an Iranian terror threat.

I wonder if Obama is going to start a campaign season war like Bill Clinton did to give him some CIC gravitas.
His media buddies absolutely love crowing over his military prowess and will eagerly play him up as the no nonsense Commander in Chief keeping us all safe.

    Just my opinion.

  • Um…… Senator Graham…… Sir….. Iran already has nuclear capability. The reactor at Bushehr has been operational for quite a while now. They’re building another one and hav…………

Why am I bothering……… These idiots in DC are gonna help get tens-of-millions of people killed.

  • NeoKong

    One more thing.
If we start hearing Nancy Pelosi and Harry Reid discussing attacking Iran then look out.

  • Damn twelve thumbs — hit ‘enter’ by accident.

By getting tens of millions killed, I mean Americans…… These morons don’t understand a damn thing about who and what they’re dealing with regarding the peace lovers.

Time to put these old timers out to pasture….

One word, “INVADE!”. Their resistance will collapse as fast as Saddam’s “Dreaded” Revolutionary Guards did. I say pull every conventional bomb we have in storage and drop everything on them (except nukes), and let the Iranian Resistance mop up the ones left standing. And no, I’m not running for President…

  • Mahdi Al-Dajjal

Lindsay Graham? The guy with testicles SO SMALL that his doctor couldn’t see them using the world’s most powerful microscope? THAT Lindsay Graham?

  • Lady Mondegreen

This is going nowhere. The nuclear sites in Iran are not out in the open. Bombing will only give Iran a PR advantage, which is exactly what these jokers are jockeying for in Washington.

The problem with this Congress is that for the most part, when it speaks, it sounds as if it’s populated by idiots.

    true, but repecfully disagree..

the problem is, they don’t have a SPEAKER!! 😡

Declaring war is the sole prerogative of the Congress. The president has no role in the decision.

Once war is declared, the president is directed, not asked, to act as commander in chief.

Tens of thousands of Americans have died in American wars since 12/08/41, the last time Congress used this unambiguous power.

Who exactly are we sending to Congress?

Democrats always want WAR.. however, if & when they come under
the jurisdiction of a REPUBLICAN president, they DON’T WANT WAR..

“The Clinton administration, echoing the view of George Bush and earlier
presidents, contends that it has no need for authorization from either
Congress or the [U.N.] Security Council.”

“are you still beating your wife?”

    Conspiracy time:

Is is a possibility that Obama could bring about an attack on Iran, say, the week of the election in November, and then, say, find a way to postpone it?

If Obama loses the election, somehow, could he bring us to war, say, the week of Inauguration in January? Maybe toss a nuke or three, then tell Santorum or whoever wins, “Okay, buddy! Here you go! Have fun with WW4, sucker! Oh, and I gave away every single solitary military and intelligence secret we had left to Russia, China, Egypt, Syria, Venezuela, Iran, Iraq, and anyone else that hates the United States! Sucker!”

He could do either, I think. He probably would.

Then again, I’m probably not thinking GRAND enough, or evil enough, to accurately predict what insane actions he and his party are going to take these next few months.

    I’m probably not even close.

  • Ripped

Lets hope the other 68 Senators have the God given common sense not to go along with the other 32 warmongering fools.

Iran already announced the use of sucide vessels, so what makes you think Iran is not able to bomb the whole world and themselfs to death if any incident happens. Im not a fan of this freakin situation as we are the new nuclear buffer zone for the US security in germany. I’ve got no idea if they are able to stop any ICMB. The whole situation is naggin on me since month. So what is your idea, you think there is any chance for US to get diplomatic with Iran, i think no, cause they are fundamental US haters and they are not the only one. Since russia announce the use of nuclear weapons if national threats appear and China announced the WW3 in its national TV, the world is upside down…

    Why Haven’t We Seen This?

[We have a strategy drawn up for the destruction of Anglo-Saxon
civilization… we must make use of everything we have at hand to
strike at this front by means of our suicide operations or by means
of our missiles. There are 29 sensitive sites in the U.S. and in the
West. We have already spied on these sites and we know how we
    are going to attack them.

The Americans are not ready to send a million men (to defeat the
Islamic Republic),” Abbasi said. “Even economic sanctions against
the Islamic Republic will fail thanks to opposition from the Western
public opinion and the refusal of most countries to implement them.

Ahmadinejad seems to believe “that the hand of God is guiding him
to trigger a series of cataclysmic events which could precipitate the
    return of the 12th Imam.

    Iran’s Nuclear Program

[But a United Nations report released in November 2011 challenged that claim. The International Atomic Energy Agency released a trove of evidence that they said makes a “credible” case that “Iran has carried out activities relevant to the development of a nuclear device” and that the project may still be under way.

The report, the harshest judgment that United Nations weapons inspectors had ever issued in their decade-long struggle to pierce the secrecy surrounding the Iranian program, rekindled a debate among the Western allies and Israel about whether increased diplomatic pressure, sanctions, sabotage or military action could stop Iran’s program.]

Iran Banks Face Increasing Pressure From the West

[The Belgium-based organization central to the international banking system said it was preparing to ban blacklisted Iranian banks from using its financial communications and clearing systems, a move that will sharply intensify the West’s financial campaign against Tehran.

The announcement Friday by the Society for Worldwide International Financial Telecommunication, or Swift, is expected to drastically scale back Tehran’s ability to conduct global trade, said U.S. and European officials.

Virtually all of the world’s major banks use the Swift system to conduct financial wire transfers. And most of Iran’s major state and trade banks, as well as Tehran’s central bank, are …]

New York Resident and His Company Sentenced for
Conspiracy to Export Computer-Related Equipment to Iran

[Shih was arrested on a criminal complaint on April 6, 2011. He and his company were later indicted on April 21, 2011. According to court documents filed in the case, beginning as early as about 2007, Shih conspired with a company operating in Dubai, UAE, and Tehran, Iran, to procure U.S.-origin computers through Sunrise and export those computers from the United States to Iran, through Dubai, without first obtaining a license or authorization from OFAC.

Specifically, in April 2010, the defendants caused the illegal export of 368 units of computer-related goods to Dubai, which were later sent to Iran. Later that month, the defendants caused the illegal export of 158 additional units of computer-related goods to Dubai, which were later sent to Iran. The defendants subsequently caused an additional 185 units of computer-related goods to be illegally exported to Iran via Dubai.

This investigation was conducted by the ICE’s Homeland Security Investigations (HSI) field offices New York and San Diego, and the Department of Commerce Office of Export Enforcement field offices in New York and Los Angeles, with assistance from ICE-HSI offices in Chicago, Newark, N.J., Los Angeles and Orange County, Calif. The Department of Homeland Security’s U.S. Customs and Border Protection and OFAC’s Office of Enforcement also assisted in the investigation. ]
