Governor Mitch Daniels (R-IN) on Obama’s failed energy policy:

“Let’s give the president credit for one domestic policy that worked. He wanted higher gas prices and he got ‘em. He said it. Secretary Chu said $8, about what they pay in Europe, would be great. Secretary Salazar said if it went to $10 he still wouldn’t be for allowing drilling in many of the places where we know there is an awful lot of domestic production. And, so they’ve gotten the doubling of gas prices and perhaps worse is a conscious policy of this administration.”

Governor Daniels was on FOX News Sunday with Chris Wallace this morning.

  1. Maybe we can draft Daniels or Demint to run, the rest of the R candidates suck.

  2. FWIW, high gas prices are primarily due to Central Banks printing trillions of dollars worth of money the last three years, this lie about an “improving economy” Barry tells is BS.

  3. Thank you Mitch Daniels for the truth. At least there are a few republicans willing to speak up.

  4. Stated brilliantly and succinctly. Easy indictment of the One We Have Been Waiting For,

  5. Obama’s plan all along. The high gas prices should surprise no one. Now what are we going to do about it? November is right around the corner…

  6. Obama is influence by our enemies hatred so he apologizes. He is influence on the fact we pay so little and Europe is paying more so we should too.

Obama doesn’t have on thinking and great thought in his head unless influence by the far left or what he has learn from Alinsky.

He used the model Romney Care for Obama care, he has used some of the Policies of Bush then takes credit for it. This is the pattern and for the Green, Gore. See what that idiot has done.

  7. Obama Admits Mistakes, Says He Wants Second Term ‘Badly’

This was a very odd statement. Who says this. Someone who really believes the dumb down Americans will think, GEE, He deserves a second chance.

Then a few weeks later say, I will have another 5(?) years.

The guy is either a mastermind (no) or influenced by his mentors. This is a way to create Chaos, in a small way or he really thinks he will get sympathy, I think Chaos.

  8. Ouch! Good comment by Mitch.

  9. High Gas Prices: Obama’s Half-Truths vs. Reality

President Obama addressed these issues Thursday, February 23, in a speech on gas prices[3] in which he continued to take many facts out of context. While the President said that there is no quick fix to high gas prices and the nation cannot drill its way out of the problem, he creates a false dichotomy that suggests that micromanaging the solution from Washington by subsidizing uneconomical technologies and sources of energy would work. This approach would do little to provide America with new, reliable, and economical sources of energy and in fact would cause more harm than good to the consumer and taxpayer. America knows what works to effectively combat high gas prices: allowing the market to work by opening access to the country’s own oil and gas reserves, reducing onerous regulations, and allowing producers and consumers to respond to energy prices without Washington’s interference. Here are five half-truths that one continually hears about gas prices and five actions that Congress and the Administration can take to effectively combat high gas prices.

  10. Democrats to Obama: Open up our strategic oil reserves.

  11. The keystone cancellation was pure folly, it was just Obama catering to far-left environmentalists. Even the Unions favored building the pipeline, since it would have created 10s of 1000s of jobs. Obama doesn’t want wide spread anger at him, of course, but rising gas prices are the only way to get him to his dream of an alternative energy economy, which just doesn’t make economic sense now or for at least another 10 years.

  12. And just think had Palin’s words and Boone Pickens words had been heard. We would be have been that much closer to less dependency on other nations.

And Americans would have more jobs.

What does he do, No, to xl pipeline. He is creating Chaos and it gives the Media more talking Points and take our attention off his many other failures, also.

OMG the people who voted for these people I pray that KARMA gets them. WH are millionaires like Hollywood liberals. Now they are imposing sharia law in the states. Its a constant fight, fight with these communists.
We put a IRANIAN (Jarrett) and Islamic in the office (Sortoero) and look its constant chaos every friggin day. Look at the liberals in congress they bankrupted SS and we STILL don’t have a budget–and he wants to destroy all our 401ks and pension funds. great no wonder people are leaving America.

  16. Quotes from an article “Democrats blaming Bush for gas prices”;Tuesday, April 25, 2006.

“The same Bush administration that so tragically bungled the response to Hurricanes Katrina and Rita has now bungled its way to $3-per-gallon gasoline,” Sen. Ron Wyden, Oregon Democrat, said yesterday. “Now it’s clear to anyone who fills up at a gas pump that this administration is also failing in its approach to energy.”

    and

“I’m all for Americans having retirement security, but does anyone think it’s fair to have consumers pay $100 a week to fill their fuel tanks and the big energy bosses fill their bank tanks with hundreds of millions of dollars?” Mr. Reid said.

    http://www.washingtontimes.com/news/2006/apr/25/20060425-123202-9285r/?page=all

They were saying this about the Bush administration at $3.00 per gallon. They aren’t saying a word against Obama at $5.00 per gallon.

Please read the article for more. The hypocrisy is exactly what what you would expect.

  17. Half-truth #2: Increasing oil production takes too long and would not impact the market for at least a decade.

This has been the mantra of the anti-drilling crowd for years, and the longer politicians listen to the message, the longer the nation’s oil resources will remain undeveloped. If access to areas that are currently off limits is increased, it will take time to explore and extract that oil. But that does not change the fact that the nation needs it today and also in the future. Furthermore, some of this oil can reach the market in much less than a decade if the permitting process is streamlined and the Keystone XL pipeline—which could bring up to 830,000 barrels of oil per day from Canada to the Gulf Coast refineries—is built.

  22. The following are 20 ways that the U.S. economy has gotten even worse since Barack Obama became president….

#1 In January 2009, the official U.S. unemployment rate was 7.6 percent. Today it is 9.1 percent.

#2 When Barack Obama took office, the number of “long-term unemployed” in the United States was approximately 2.6 million. Today, that number is up to 6.2 million.

#3 When Barack Obama first became president, the average price of a gallon of gasoline in the United States was $1.83. Today it is $3.79. This also affects the price of almost everything else that we buy.

#4 In April 2009, the average U.S. household spent approximately $201 on gasoline. In April 2011, the average U.S. household spent approximately $369 on gasoline.

#5 According to an article in the Daily Mail, the cost of a Memorial Day cookout was 29 percent higher this year than it was last year.

#6 When Barack Obama was sworn in, there were nearly 32 million Americans on food stamps. Today, there are more than 44 million on food stamps.

#7 According to the U.S. Census, the number of children living in poverty has gone up by about 2 million in just the past 2 years.

#8 When Barack Obama took office, the U.S. national debt was 10.6 trillion dollars. Today it is 14.3 trillion dollars.

#9 The federal government has borrowed 29,660 more dollars per household since Barack Obama signed the economic stimulus law two years ago.

#10 During Barack Obama’s first two years in office, the U.S. government added more to the U.S. national debt than the first 100 U.S. Congresses combined.

#11 The combined debt of the major GSEs (Fannie Mae, Freddie Mac and Sallie Mae) has increased from 3.2 trillion in 2008 to 6.4 trillion in 2011. Thanks to George W. Bush, Barack Obama and the U.S. Congress, U.S. taxpayers are standing behind that debt.

#12 Under Obama, the U.S. trade deficit continues to grow. The trade deficit was about 33 percent larger in 2010 than it was in 2009, and the 2011 trade deficit is expected to be even bigger.

#13 Only 66.8% of American men had a job last year. That was the lowest level that has ever been recorded in all of U.S. history.

#14 Just since August, 2 million more Americans have left the labor force.

#15 In 2010, more than a million U.S. families lost their homes to foreclosure for the first time ever, and that number is expected to go even higher in 2011.

#16 The U.S. real estate crisis just continues to get worse. During the first three months of this year, less new homes were sold in the U.S. than in any three month period ever recorded.

#17 The U.S. dollar has fallen by 17 percent compared to other major national currencies since 2009.

#18 Faith in the U.S. dollar and in U.S. Treasuries is rapidly declining. The mainstream news is not reporting on it much, but right now the Chinese are rapidly dumping U.S. government debt. That is not a good sign.

#19 When Barack Obama first took office, an ounce of gold was going for about $850. Today an ounce of gold costs about $1500.

#20 Americans seem to be more pessimistic about the economy than ever. According to a brand new poll, 61 percent of Americans believe that they will not return to their “pre-recession” lifestyles until at least 2014.

The real crux of the matter will be what happens AFTER the election should Barry lose the election, if there is one. If there is no election then we are a dictatorship, if Barry refuses to step down if he loses we are a dictatorship. If he steps down expect the Left to IMMEDIATELY start blaming the GOP President for everything wrong, real or perceived.

Either way we truly are going to be living in interesting times.

  26. Barack in Sarah clothing
February 26, 2012 by Don Surber

Republicans have President Obama on the run. He has had to disguise himself and his stupid policies again — this time by donning the political garb of his arch rival. President Barack Obama looks pretty nice in Sarah Palin’s dress. And by dress, I mean her energy policy. He is now mouthing the very words he mocked 4 years ago when he said we don’t need to drill for oil. In 2008, Candidate Obama preached that if everyone just needs to check the air pressure in their tires, we’ll be fine.

    Ah, the mocker-in-chief boo-hooing about being mocked…

Now that the economy is in the toilet, President Obama is all drill, baby, drill.

First, here is what Sarah Palin said on June 13, 2010:

Am I the only one who wonders what could possibly be the agenda of any politician who would thwart our drive toward energy independence? Continuing to lock up America’s domestic energy reserves, including the energy-rich Last Frontier of Alaska, only equips dangerous foreign regimes as they fund terrorist organizations to harm us and our allies. I’m going to keep speaking and writing about this in the simplest of terms until someone can provide a simple answer as to why liberal Democrats don’t understand that we have safe, warehoused onshore and shallow water reserves waiting for permission to be extracted. They either choose not to understand the geology, science, and technology behind an all-of-the-above approach to energy security, or they understand it, yet for whatever frightening reason choose to be lap dogs to Chavez and Ahmadinejad.

This is what our president said on Saturday:

Now, we absolutely need safe, responsible oil production here in America. That’s why under my Administration, America is producing more oil today than at any time in the last eight years. In 2010, our dependence on foreign oil was under 50% for the first time in more than a decade. And while there are no short-term silver bullets when it comes to gas prices, I’ve directed my administration to look for every single area where we can make an impact and help consumers in the months ahead, from permitting to delivery bottlenecks to what’s going on in the oil markets. But over the long term, an all-of-the-above energy strategy means we have to do more. It means we have to make some choices.

  29. After the republican presidential nominee is chosen, if the GOP and all the right-leaning PACs don’t take this kind of info Mitch Daniels offered today and turn it into a really EFFECTIVE political ad that illustrates perfectly the abject FAILURE of the Obama administration, then the GOP deserves to lose in November. If they fail in this, then the GOP truly is the stupid party and will be replaced. The stakes couldn’t be higher.

My hope is that Christie, Palin, Daniels, and the rest of the GOP spokespeople are just champing at the bit, waiting for the nomination process to be over so they can be unleashed to go after Barack Hussein Obama with both barrels (pardon the lack of ‘civility’). There certainly is a huge body of ‘work’ out there that BHO has ‘accomplished’ over the last 3 years that the GOP could tap into for ads, editorials, speeches, youtube videos, etc that would show what a truly horrible president he has been, with policies that aim to dismantle the free enterprise system and all the progress we have made over the last several decades.

    They’d better not disappoint me.

  30. Under Cloward-Piven the government’s job is to create more and more dependent programs to the point where the economy can no longer bare the burden of debt. Continue to build this debt until the economy collapses and then we won’t need to buy gasoline, drive our cars to the grocery store, or do anything else for that matter. But Obama has use of all kinds of methods to bring this nation down, and since he has control over the access and use of our resources, he can do whatever he wants whether it hurts the country or not. In this case it is hurting the country. So it seems to me that he is doing exactly what he wants to do in order to bring the economy under that of some two-bit failed, weak, under protected European nation.

Now don’t think that is the end of the means he is using in order to get there. Oh no. He is going to go much further than that. Doing what he’s doing now is not the end of the means, it is a means to the end. So what could possibly be the end? The end is to punish the PEOPLE, not just the mechanisms that run the country, and are used by the people in order to create wealth which is the means of and end to be doing what will take care of ones self and ones family. That is the whole reason why we built this nation is so that we have all this stuff we can access in order to be able to take care of ourselves and our families. What else is there, getting rich? No, that only happens after a person has reached the point where they can more easily take care of their families. Once that is accomplished then a person can move on to make the millions they wanted to do for themselves.

Obama wants to affect all these changes in order to control the lives of the people so that they cannot do that. Once that is accomplished then Obama can dictate law that will prevent the People from ever being able to take care of themselves and their families. That doesn’t mean that rich liberals won’t be able to care for their families, no, they will be able to still do that for themselves, it just won’t be us.

And what better way than to take the thing that gives us the power to affect our own lives, and that is gas to power our cars. Once we can’t get gas then we have to modify our lives and use some other means to get to work or whatever that gives us the ability to take care of our families. But how much slower we will be doing that is what gives Obama the ability to slow us down even further until we can’t move. Then he’s got us where he wants us.

    AMEN !!!!!

There are rumors that they are considering drafting Jeb. Daniels or DeMint would be a better choice.

  32. What I heard on the radio last Friday was if there is a “brokered convension” the Republican’s would pick someone of their choice. If the Tea Party is more represented at the convention than the liberal Republican’s then somebody like Rubio, DeMint, or another conservative would be picked instead of the field we are looking at now. Or Newt could pick someone who would be more compatible to the convention, then he may get the okay depending on who his vice presidential pick was.

Look at McCain. The only reason why he got as many votes as he did was because he picked Palin. I’m sure millions voted for Palin for President, hoping McCain would croke while in office hopefully right after McCain was elected. That way Palin would have years to implement her economic policies concerning oil, and we might be paying $.78 a gallon now. Of course that’s a fantasy because if the Republican’s still got thrown out in ’06 like they did, and the Democrats would still be holding both Houses if Palin got elected, let’s just say if she had run by herself instead of McCain, she would have still had to deal with a Congress controled by Nancy Pelosi instead of a conservative.

What would you people think Palin would be able to do if she decided to come in this late in race, and run against Obama herself? What chance do you all think she would have to win the Presidency? Would the Republican Party campaign against her?

  33. Willofla: I don’t think that Palin would be a viable candidate – not because she’d be a bad Pres, just because too many people have been brainwashed about her. One of the reasons I’m for a brokered convention is that the MSM would have to start all over in their sliming of the Rep candidate – right now they’re half way there on all three of the current ones.
