Wow! This is getting crazy.
Now the word is that Trump will back Romney… Not Newt.
CNN reported:

Donald Trump will endorse Mitt Romney for president, sources with knowledge of the endorsement tell CNN.

Trump will make the announcement Thursday in Las Vegas, two days before the Nevada caucuses.

  1. Trump is a publicity hound.

Any of our candidates are better than Obama.

  2. Stop the madness!

  3. I don’t care. I just want Obama out of office. Mitt can beat Obama…after he is in office we hound him and pull him to the right like we have to with Congress. We just have to get the marxist out of power.

  4. It’s not his endorsement that is coveted . . .it’s his money and influence. Wonder if Trump is aware of Mitt’s B.S.:

  5. Why do people care what Trump says. Third party–that is not a alternative–hand Barack the keys without a whimper.

  6. Lol, this is all just guesswork. Trump is playing everyone as usual.

  7. Why the F8ck does Gateway Pundit, or any pundit for that matter really care who Trump supports? The guy plays the media like a fiddle.

  9. From the linked story on Drudge:

“Citing Matt Drudge of the website Drudge Report, who has a relationship with top Romney officials, POLITICO’s Maggie Haberman said Trump may actually be endorsing Romney.”

You think, remember the headline on Drudge was “Trump to Endorse Romney?” then when you opened it was Gingrich?

  10. Romney had a really REALLY bad day yesterday..all that Florda momentum WASTED with one slip of the tongue….. Romney said he “does not care about the poor”….Newt has a valid case for a share of the FL delegates…and the PR about Trump . I think this Drudge link about Trump for Romney is just a false flag progresive panic attack. Trump knows this party is in trouble. He isn’t one to be bought off to peddle the establishment’s talking points. Newt’s biggest donor is already a casino mogul. It makes sense Trump would put his chips in with Newt.

  11. I have many friends who are Dems and who voted for Obama. They want to vote against Obama now but will never vote for Newt. Mitt however, is another story. He is the one Republican they could vote for. If Mitt is our nominee he is going to need to attract the disaffected voters if he is to become President. He is the only Republican who can do that.

Anyone who thinks Obama can’t lose because he has a ton of money and the media behind him is forgetting the damage he has done to our economy and our place in the world. Mitt has a ton of money and is not afraid to pull out all the stops to win. Look what he’s done to Newt.

  12. Yea, look what he has done to Newt, and dont think he wont do it to us!

  13. “I have many friends who are Dems and who voted for Obama. They want to vote against Obama now but will never vote for Newt. Mitt however, is another story. He is the one Republican they could vote for.”

Well of course… after all he’s a Democrat too. Just look at his record.

Don’t worry, they’ll still pull the lever for Obama.

  14. I don’t think Trumps endorsement is going to swing a whole lot of votes one way or the other.

  15. I agree #13, Romney’s a sham and if he’s the nominee there’s only a 5% chance of voting for him the rest of the 95% is staying home cause he’s no different than what we have now.

  16. Adi (#2), I’m not sure I really do know what you mean. Care to explain?

  17. I’d vote for Trump before I’d vote for Romney.

‘So now he’s a conservative? Really? Puleeeze.’

Yes, puhleeze. Romney is a leftist masquerading as a conservative.

    Good links, thanks.

  19. Odd how Trump would make a spectacle of ground hog day….Will his hair see its shadow ? 6 more months of Newt

  20. Ahh bigotry still exists on this forum. You might want to start purging all the Mormons out of the Republican Party and keep it filled up with Baptists only, right?

  21. The last thing we want to do this election is ONCE more, hold our nose and vote for a liberal Republican. McCain was bad enough!

Its time for a late entry into the race. This is not even close to being over, the people have had it with the elites in the GOP!

  22. Trump to back Gingrich!

    Er…

    Trump to back Romney!

    Or is it…

No, it really doesn’t matter at all.

Bottom line: No one cares who that overinflated gasbag Trump endorses. Except in his own egomaniacal mind, he’s irrelevant to pretty much everything in the lives of most people.

  23. Giant Douche or Sh*t Sandwich…

  24. Two of the Blue Blood Republicans. They probably golf together.

  25. Trump endorsing Newt or Mitt is big news for what reason?

I”m still trying to figure out why a guy that has filed for bankruptcy a few times garners so much attention for his two cents of an opinion.

  26. The whole presidential race has devolved into the same-o, same-o

All the optimism created in the 2010 cycle by the Tea party, exists only at the state level.

Local tea parties need to do a real good job getting the vote out in all the important congressional and senatorial elections this November.

Coffin of progressivism has not been nailed shut. Maybe in 2016.

  27. Now, dog gone it, didn’t we all exclaim yesterday in an article right here on this site about Trump endorsing Newt and how well we agreed with that? And wasn’t it what we believed was a good move for Trump to drag what Independents he had along with him his endorsement would bring? And now that’s all up in the air…..again? Damn, I thought the man made big decisions deceicively? This is really frustrating!

  28. Trump is one screwed up puppy.

He is a moderate and that is giving him to much credit.

Romney is a pro choice, pro obamacare, pro gun control and pro life. Records and tapes say it all.

Elites sick together and if he is the Nominee we will see another 4 more years of Socialized Medicine and Socialized Government mandate everything. It is bad now, it will be H$#@ later.

  29. Correction: Pro Choice

  30. Stick together, correction:

  31. I have it on good authority that Trump will actually be supporting Ru Paul.
Expect the formal announcement soon. Trump’s always had a soft spot for showgirl dancers.

  32. When a man or a woman is indecisive and questions everything, like Romney has, blows where ever the wind does. Has a round about answer for everything. What type of president will he or she make.

The money that these people have is astonishing. The elitist who don’t care about the Poor?

Big mistake Romney, doesn’t matter what you met, and what about the Mandated Romney care.

Obama is going to make CHUMP MEAT OUT OF YOU.

  34. And I will endorse…………………………………..you’ll have to wait to find out. Seriously, who cares who Trump endorses, that media whore is not only losing his hair, but also what’s under it. Oh, and who cares about who I endorse, although I probably have as much “whatever” as Trump. (I’m a mogul in my own mind….see, what did I tell ya?)

  35. Gingrich and Romney unelectable after these moronic debates and the attendant scorched-earth tactics each has leveled against the other. Open convention in which Santorum has remained a viable dark-horse candidate who could negotiate consensus among the embittered. Santorum chooses Mark Rubio or Allan West as running mate and hit the road running after convention.

  36. This is BREAKING NEWS….

My sources are telling me that Trump will now NOT endorse Paul…. He will make this announcement from the top of Trump Towers in the middle of filming his latest show, “I’m a billionaire, and will NOT apologize for it”…

    Whoa this is crazy Hahaha

  37. This is actually funny. Why just yesterday when Trump supposedly endorsed Gingrich all the Romney dweebs were dumping on him. Here for example is the effin moron polluting this fine blog with his village idiot variety pontifications..

‘PERFECT: THESE TWO ERRATIC SLIMEBALLS DESERVE EACH OTHER

    BWHAHAHAHAHA!’

Does his endorsement of Romney mean Trump is no longer an erratic slimeball? What a diff a day makes to some.

  38. I am fed up. Why announce that he was going to endorse Newt? Now is going for Romney. Why he playing the american people like a fiddle? . I hate the man. He likes to fire people. Here is to TRUMP .. YOUR FIRED. Your words mean nothing

  39. Trump on Romney in April 11 “he’s going to lose. He doesn’t resonate, you know?”

Mitt must have promised him some casino’s he can build in Utah.

Get ready for Republican style cronyism if Obama Lite wins.

  40. Trump will make the announcement Thursday in Las Vegas, two days before the Nevada caucuses.

Mr Trump doesn’t think that his endorsement is some sort of earth-shaking event that’s going to absolutely, positively deliver the state to Romney, does he?

  41. I’m surprised Trump didn’t endorse himself! He’s nothing more than a distraction. With hair like Trump’s, he should wear a hat, but I doubt they could find one to fit his head.

  42. Snorkdoodle #14

I can understand why you believe my friends would turn around and still vote for Obama. But these people are hurting too. Obama didn’t just destroy the Republican Middle Class. His policies are designed to destroy the entire middle class. I can guarantee you that my Dem friends will not vote for Obama again but they will sit it out if its Gingrich.

  43. Ahgathon # 15 —

Right Trump’s endorsement won’t sway many voters but the fact that he can demand TV time whenever he likes could help or hurt the potential nominee depending on who he supports.

  44. Did he change his mind? What has Romney promised Trump and Coulter?

  45. Here’s your endorsement, Romney dweebs..

wrestlemania 23 Donald Trump shaves off McMahon’s hair

America gets the presidents it deserves and when McCain deja vu loses to Obama the Romney dweebs will have the president they deserve.

  46. Yes, nobody cares who Trump endorses. He isn’t conservative.
Anyway, this was hinted at on Fox & Friends this morning, so it isn’t a total surprise.
I suspected he might endorse Gingrich and then turn around a week later and withdraw it.
Anyway, again, who cares. What weight can we give to endorsements from outside the Republican Party or the Tea Party movement?

But I do have some interesting stuff here for all you Gingrich fans:
(in my next post that is)

  48. So go ahead and wrap yourself up in Newt’s conservative banner. Call me childish names and dismiss it all without even watching an hour of Newt in his own words. But people who remember know better.

There’s a mountain of Democrat campaign ads in this stuff. The best you have on Romney this weak is a sentence that couldn’t be more obviously taken out of context. And not a whiff of a sex scandal to be found.

  49. Focus on voting Barry and Moochelle out. Period.

  50. Donald Trump thinks that governing would be one big real estate deal.

I do think it takes a little more intellectual depth than that, Donald!

Didn’t Donald also support Obama in the last election?

  56. If Trump is such a businessman why would he endorse this… socialist?

‘Mitt Romney knows he blew it when he said he was “not concerned about the very poor.” As he stated later, ”Sometimes things don’t come out exactly the way you’d like them to. That’s not exactly what I meant to say. My focus is on middle income Americans. We do have a safety net for the very poor, and I said if there are holes in it I want to correct that.”

Only hyperpartisans would assume Romney meant otherwise. Now I am waiting for a clarification/explanation of these comments, which are far more disturbing:

Republican presidential contender Mitt Romney renewed his support Wednesday for automatic increases in the federal minimum wage to keep pace with inflation, a position sharply at odds with traditional GOP business allies, conservatives and the party’s senior lawmakers. ”I haven’t changed my thoughts on that,” the former Massachusetts governor told reporters aboard his chartered campaign plane, referring to a stand he has held for a decade. …

Congress first enacted federal minimum wage legislation in 1938 and has raised it sporadically in the years since. The last increase, approved in 2007, took effect in three installments and reached $7.25 an hour for covered workers effective July 24, 2009. It has never been allowed to rise automatically, as Romney envisions.

Romney is wrong on this. It’s basic economics, really. Certainly a ”conservative businessmen” should understand that if you raise the price of apples, people will buy fewer apples. If you raise the price on labor, firms will hire fewer workers or give them fewer hours.* Here are the results of a 2006 review of the economic literature on the minimum wage:’

I’m sorry, Romney said what about the minimum wage?

Mitt Romney did not take over companies to do his best to make the companies thrive. He took over to make the most money he could for himself. He did that by making private investors richer so they’d give him all the more money to do it again.

Some companies survived Mitt Romney. They managed despite him somehow. Mitt Romney may have favored some. He may have felt he couldn’t rape them all for fear of the negative press. He may have been very aware of creating plausible deniability.

Don’t you think that’s highly likely? I can’t imagine it’s not true on some level.’

We are being offered a choice of cat poo and dog poo for dinner.

  65. bg

all you’re linking back to is Newt’s own website.
What does anybody expect Newt to write on his own website.

I grant you this video’s editing looks like a high-schooler did it, but it’s not snipped up to cut out qualifying language. Newt’s entire passages are there for all to see.
Glenn Beck sure seems to think so, anyway. Even Rush was talking about this last week.
Frankly, there’s nothing new in the whole thing. It’s all known stuff.
But the compilation of it all should at least call into question the conservatism of the
self-described Wilsonian candidate who says FDR was the greatest president of the 20th century.
    Huh??? Not Reagan???
and who said Bush 41 wouldn’t get elected running on 4 more years of Reagan.

There’s Newt saying sb else can’t get elected. Wasn’t that the big complaint yesterday, people saying Newt couldnt’ get elected? Well that’s interesting.

  66. Molon Labe
the only possible area you could call McCain more conservative on is national defense. And even then it’s a tie, with McCain being against torture.

Romney has been making money his whole life. He’s pro-business, pro-capitalism. McCain has spent the last 30+ years writing business-strangling legislation.

Newt, in his own words, feels that it’s time we take action against climate change and enact legislation to curb carbon emissions. He also says the science is not settled.
    Huh?
It’s been fully debunked. The liar who perpetratred it was fired (at least temporarily) from his university over the cover-up.

So once I again I don’t see how you consider Newt any more conservative than Romney.

By the way, hypocrite, Rick Santorum has a pretty solid conservative record, and he’s still in the race. Never had a sex scandal of any kind. Why aren’t you throwing your support to him? Let me guess. Because you don’t think he can possibly get elected, right?

    Hypocrite.

  67. Good stuff, i.e. truth, out there with a little digging..

‘But Soledad O’Brien allowed Mitt Romney to clarify his remarks in case there was a misunderstanding. He chose to dig his hole deeper.

Romney continues, “We will hear from the Democrat party, the plight of the poor…. You can focus on the very poor, that’s not my focus…. The middle income Americans, they’re the folks that are really struggling right now and they need someone that can help get this economy going for them.”

The problem here is that the middle class won’t vote for a Democrat pledging to raise taxes only on the rich for the same reason they won’t vote for a Republican who says he is not concerned about the very poor. They know they are next. And evangelicals who Romney already has a problem with are very mindful of the rich man and Lazarus. You can see the whole segment here for yourself.’
