When police warned the protesters to move away from City Hall the #Occupiers screamed, “F**k you!”

At what point do the so-called “rights” of the people to act upon their 1st Amendment rights to protest, and have crossed a line in the sand and have become just plain criminals “acting” like they are protesting, give the cops the right to bring out the dogs, firehoses, pepper spray, night sticks a-swinging, and being thrown into patty wagons for a oneway trip downtown begin?

Do these Occupier criminals have the right to do what they have done and still hold their rights to protest and all that goes along with that? And since the Occupier’s are setting the stage for what the cops will tolerate and what they won’t, and I’m really shocked that the Occupier criminals are being allowed to get so far as to be able to break into city hall? Where were the cops who knew from what they had heard from the Occupier criminals themselves that they planned on forcing their way into city hall, that the police didn’t at least put some cops on the steps at least in case the Occupier criminals went through with their plans? Where were the cops? Why weren’t the Occupier criminals stopped long before they got to city hall?

Why is it that the police policy is so damn specific as far as people’s “rights” that they can’t engage first strike ability to stop something they suspect and not act only when a criminal act is under way? Why is it they have to wait until the criminal is already inside before they act? They don’t know about the benefit to peace and harmony that comes from people who understand that the cops will act long before the criminal actually goes through with what they want to do? But no, the Occupier’s aren’t really breaking a law by just talking about breaking into city hall, because talking isn’t against the law, only when talk becomes action that breaks the law.

You notice that the cops acted after the burgular has left the house. What good does that do? The Occupier’s have gone as far as they planned to go, and now they are done, and have gone back to protesting. This is a public display of ignorance and stupidity on the part of cops when it comes to protecting the public. That now we all know that the cops won’t protect you no matter what is about to happen, only after the criminal has killed you can they act to protect you because now the criminal has broken the law by killing you, but up to that point they’ve done nothing wrong by just standing outside your house.

That really makes me feel so much safer to know that the cops are helpless to protect anything until the crime has already happened. To late then. So what good are they if they will not remove these bastards knowing full well what they are there to do. They need to be removed and told that if they will return they will be arrested.

But they need to be removed, not just told to leave. That doesn’t do anything to break their will to do wrong. You have to give them something they can remember what will happen to them if they come back. Not that the cops just were nice to them and were told they shouldn’t be there. Oh yeah, that works!

You don’t understand how a police department operates. Oakland PD has, historically, been a rough place to work. Even in the mid-1980′s when I got in to the biz, it had an awful reputation. Almost as bad as NOPD without all the corruption.

In a city like Oakland, you don’t have the beat strength, or the budget, to just have 2-4 officers sitting idle at a fixed location. The detectives sure as hell aren’t going to put on a uniform and do it. So in a city like Oakland especially, you do not pull patrol officers off taking calls for service to sit in anticipation of something maybe happening. And I am sure the mayor would have put a stop to it had they tried.

I applaud these officers for doing their job in a most professional manner, even when they know their own city government, right up to the mayor, despises them. What they need is a Chief like Daryl Gates was, in my opinion he was one of the last REAL police chief’s to serve in all of California.

RIP Chief, those who knew you know the truth.
