Newt to Run Full Page New Hampshire Ad Against Moderate Mitt Romney

Newt’s New Hampshire ad points to Mitt Romney’s moderate record.

After being pummeled by Mitt Romney in Iowa, Newt Gingrich will hit back in New Hampshire.
The AP reported:

After weathering a full-on assault in Iowa, Newt Gingrich and his allies planned Tuesday to hit back hard at rival Mitt Romney as the Republican presidential campaign pushed east.

The first salvo was a full-page ad in the New Hampshire Union Leader that was to appear as Gingrich touched down in the state early Wednesday. It labels the former House speaker a “Bold Reagan Conservative” and Romney a “Timid Massachusetts Moderate.”

Campaigning in Iowa hours before the first-in the nation caucuses get under way Tuesday night, Gingrich said his campaign will put up television ads in New Hampshire, South Carolina and Florida – the next three states to vote – that aggressively contrast his record with Romney’s. And at least one pro-Gingrich super PAC was getting into the mix.

At least Newt can say he balanced the federal budget under a Democrat president with a Democrat Senate. I don’t think it’s been balanced since.

Newt has some carry on baggage, but Romney has some major gun grabbing, baby killing, tax raising, healthcare mandate baggage that won’t fit in your overhead compartment.

I ask everyone here to google the Massachussets state tax form and see if you could navigate that mess. It’s all because of Romney’s health scam.

  • Bob Buoy

Newt’s decline is NOT because of the negative ads. They played ONLY in Iowa yet he shows the same decline NATIONALLY. Grow up Newt and stop being a whiny baby.

  • Lady Mondegreen

Newt hasn’t got a snowball’s chance in hell. And so much for not going negative.

  • Matt

Do any of you remember Reagan’s 11th commandment?

I am very happy that none of you do.

  • Craig

GOOD! That will help Ron Paul who is in strong second place after Romney in NH.

  • Ladue Pundit

Let’s see, Dick Gephardt won in Iowa, so did Huckabee. yawn.

  • lizzy84

A Willard GOP ticket will assure Barry a second term.
    Game- set- match.
    It’s that simple.

  • J Craig

Romney is a snae Ron Paul. He is two faced, weak, and lacks credibility, but he is sane. Newt has some strong points but he will do what is best for Newt. He is the standard issue DC politician. Yes he did balance the budget but allowed Clinton way to much. He failed on too many levels, especially failing to impelment his fine “plan” to restore America and the Constitution.

I would hold my nose and vote for Newt, which I wouldn’t do for Romney or Paul.

I would rather kiss Mochelle than vote for either of these two liarers.

By the way I see Craig still is advertising the results of a childhood abusing crak.

  • Bob Buoy

Hey Matt – of course we do but the reality is the Obama machine will have its attack machine put these intra-party attack ads to shame.

Also I love Reagan but please stop the naive childish adoration. The truth is Reagan did have attack ads and used that quote late in his political career. Please do some research and stop taking the talking points from Sean/Levin/Rush.

Matt, #4. “Thou shalt not speak ill of another Republican.” Ronald Reagan.

    Is that it?

    Thomas Sowell via Rush Limbaugh

Rush reads a great article by Thomas Sowell, putting into perspective what
is at stake in 2012 and why the hyperventilation over Newt’s tabloid past
doesn’t consider the future of our nation.

  • Sasja

Of course, all’s fair in love, war, and politics, and there are times when the gloves have to come off. I want a candidate who will attack Zero’s policies and his war on America. Mittens will not do that as they are like-minded in too many ways.

  • Redpillpatriot

Both of them are socialist progressives and they can both go to HELL! I’m for Bachman, Santorum, or Paul.

bg = nice try but follow the TRENDS not the snapshots…

“..consider, in early December, Gingrich was at 37 percent nationally in the Gallup Tracking Poll. The latest Gallup numbers at the end of December have him at 24 percent — a drop of 13 percentage points.
His declining support nationally is similar to his dive in Iowa. Yet the negative ads aired only in Iowa. This raises serious doubts that they caused Gingrich’s fall from grace in the Gallup Tracking Poll.”

No matter what the outcome in Iowa is. Gingrich is the only one who can defeat Obama.

Boy, you must be loving Speaker Boehner. Newt was blamed for “shutting down the government” yet he took on the WH and senate. You can’t implement a “fine plan” by controlling one half the legislature. A lying media and a moronic voting public made things worse.

He’s not my absolute hero, but Mittens cannot take on Obama in a debate. Hell, he couldn’t take me on in a debate.

The worst thing about Gingrich is his wife. She needs to stay home.

  • Bob Buoy

yeah – he shut down the govt because he couldn’t sit in the front of the plane…waaahh. He is also quoted in Dick Armey’s book..” I melt when i am around him” when speaking about Clinton. It got so bad armey had to go with him for every meeting with clinton. And as for the “strong debater” – recall his debate a few years ago against John Kerry to debate Global Warming. Kerry was all set to argue when newt conceded all points..big solutions, big govt..blah blah. Kerry threw his notes away and said how proud he was of newt for joining their side.

  • Bob Buoy

for those skeptical about newt and want to know more, here is the link and quote from the newt-kerry debate…

Gingrich began first with a concession to his opponent. Holding the new book by Kerry and his wife, Teresa Heinz Kerry, Gingrich said, “This is a very good book. As a clearly right-wing reader, I would commend the book” as one that shows examples of local leadership on environmental issues.

Sorry but I can’t support a whiner like Gingrich. I’d take Huntsman over Gingrich at this point.

  • Bob Buoy

kerry asked newt about global warming….

but when asked pointedly about science doubters, like Sen. James Inhofe, R-Okla., Gingrich strongly held the case that climate change is a problem.
“What would you say to Sen. Inhofe and others in the Senate who are resisting even science? What’s your message to them here today?” Kerry asked.
“My message, I think is that the evidence is sufficient that we should move towards the most effective possible steps to reduce carbon loading in the atmosphere —”
“And do it urgently, now?” Kerry interrupted.
    “Urgently, yes,” Gingrich said.

  • kittyhumphrey

Jim Hoft – you are following in the footsteps of Limbaugh/Hannity/Levin (they are all for cry baby Gingrich). Romney’s PAC did not sink Newt – Perry and Ron Paul ads helped, too. Newt is running as Ronald Reagan – he is no RR. In 2008 he said the era of Reagan was over. Limbaugh blasted him in a monologue which he will not discuss today. Newt is not a conservative – he is a progressive. If he had a name other than Newt, Limbaugh would call him a liberal.

  • ljones

Call the Waaambulance for Newt. What a whiner!

  • Rose

I love all this squealing like a stuck pig from Newt – accusing Mitt of lying – when Mitt doesn’t BEGIN to lie nearly a hair on the dog compared to NEWT.

I won’t vote for MITT – but NEWT is the pig he is squealing like – BIG TIME! And they both promote Democrat Marxist programs. But Newt is so boorish – a Gypsy Con Artist clumsy and callow fellow.

Really – that 45 minute episode of laughing at the idea of Southern Border Security, LAUGHING for the sake of the “PRAGMATISM” of the McCain Kennedy SHAMNESTY bill.

    I am still so barfing.

Newt Gingrich John Kerry Global Warming debate 2007

Newt challenged Hanoi John Kerry to a “LINCOLN/DOUGLAS” DEBATE over Global Warming, Kerry shows up as Douglas – NEWT SHOWS UP AS JOHN WILKES BOOTH!

A vote for Newt is a vote for CALLISTA as First Lady!!!

Oh, yeah, the GOP wants to TOP Moochele for sheer CRASS.

NOBODY helped bring Newt down as much as WHAT COMES OUT OF NEWT HIMSELF!

  • Pete_Bondurant

Gingrich is a whiner and I was deadly serious, I can’t support a whiner. Thankfully whining has not been a campaign winner in the past so there is no way I will be forced to choose between a whining, bitter man and a complete moron.

Anybody see Gingrich’s speech? Can somebody advise this guy to not talk down to a crowd…”I hope you all understand this,” “Listen, this is very important,” “Let me be clear”….go away Gingrich. We all know you’re a smart guy but you are no Reagan…go dream up an idea and get back to us…feel free to consult with Pelosi as well.

oh great, my choices will be warmongering 2-state-solution Muslim globalist Obama or warmongering 2-state-solution Catholic globalist Santorum…both will part God’s land, sell-out Israel, & destroy our economy…

Too bad Newt (or Romney) can’t use all that energy and money to go on the offensive against the real opponent in this election, the fraud occupying the WH.

Both men are using McCain’s failed playbook of playing nice with Barry.

You’ve been saved (so far) from the hell of having to choose between Barry or Santorum as Santorum lost the Iowa Caucus to Romney by a mere 8 votes.

This latest tactic by Newt will most likely backfire on him. People generally don’t like the vitriol, and it smacks of desperation as well.

This is too bad, since Newt has some good ideas, and would be about a thousand times better than Obama.

My prediction? Stick a fork in Newt.

  • Romney deserves the beating he is about to take on his record precisely because he is hiding behind legal technicalities in order to not take responsibility for breaking Reagan’s 11th commandment. Don’t worry, there’s still plenty of time to unite behind Not-Obama, still hopefully not-Romney. Iowa proved the guy who has been campaigning the establishment for six years is soft on the ground. Ignore NH, the fix is in for the “homie.” Let’s reassess after SC and FL weigh in.

It’s funny how ppl here are lying, for example, on who Levin supports. He has said a million times, he supports Bachmann or Santorum, and if he had to choose between Romney or Newt, he would choose Newt. And he would choose Perry over Newt.

And, from what I have heard so far, Rush was just responding to the all out GOP’s media blitz against Newt, but said he wasn’t endorsing him.

The facts are, the majority do not want Romney. He even garnered LESS votes than the last time he ran. What the heck does that tell you? The only way he can win is to out spend. A sad state and embarrassing, to say the least.

I have say, I also supported the more conservative folks: Bachmann, Santorum, Perry, etc, but if they drop out, I’m with Thomas Sowell on tnis one. Sowell projects a common sense wisdom, and clear intelligemce like no other. So, between Romney and Newt, I’m going Newt, as well.

    Thomas Sowell Endorsed Newt Gingrich
and Updated Thoughts on the Race

[It’s amazing how a candidate who everyone is now dismissing is racking up these big name conservative endorsements like Art Laffer and Thomas Sowell (who endorsed him Wednesday though I somehow missed it). For those of you unfamiliar with Thomas Sowell, he is a brilliant economist/writer who is 100% for small government and provides very reasoned commentary on a regular basis through his columns.]
