Sununu was good. This is an example of ‘pushing back’ against the liberal media bias. You don’t have to accept the premise of the MSM, it’s false.
I’m surprised they were attacking Mitt, the MSM’s ordained selection to run against teh Won. I guess they are thinking a longer nomination process may be good for business.
FurryGuy commented:
The more dirt the GOP hopefuls throw at each other in the primaries is just that much free dirt the MFM can use against the selected GOP candidate in the general election.
dunce commented:
When there is violation of the law the remedy is prosecution and thus the violator is held “responsible”. Matthews knows there were no laws broken. Obama is not taking responsibility for the long list of real crimes by the OWS jerks but Matthews is not bracing him about murder and rapes all done to further his agenda and at his direction.
twolaneflash commented:
Sununu’s appearance on FOX with his bad head rug all askew was more comic entertainment than political persuasion. Were they intentionally making him look like a clown, or did reality slip through? I won’t hold my nose for another RINO/CINO. Obama wants to cut the puppy’s tail off all at once; Romney wants to do it a little at a time so it won’t hurt so much. PotAto, PotAHto.
Patty commented:
That’s fireworks? I call this trying to explain to a monkey how to swing from branch to branch.
MSNBC knows better. Chris Matthews never complained much when Bush was hammered by Gore. Seems that Sununu has so much intelligence on this subject, he makes Chris Matthews look like a monkey.
The left keeps trying to make these candidates look like they attack. Obama has attacked repeatedly the American people and Congress far worse than these ads have.
The media bias and their agenda is frighting and belligerent. The attacks on Sarah Palin or have the chosen to conveniently forgotten.
How Chris Matthews has a leg to stand on is beyond me. Oh, wait, it does stink tingle for the Commander in Thief.

Bruce MacMahon commented:
The way I saw it, Matthews started by asking, “Should a candidate be responsible for ads produced and run by others?” then conveniently changed the subject midway through the discussion, after he gets “no” for an answer, to “So you’re saying a candidate isn’t responsible for his own ads?”. Useless clown.
a former dem commented:
I cannot stand Sanunu, but repubs better do exactly what he did no matter who the repub nominee is.
I remember in 2008 Hillary was assaulted by so many ads by that PO$ in the WH, who was never questioned, never asked about them, never took any responsibility. And most of those ads were outright lies.
Romney’s ads don’t seem to be outright lies.
The media is the demonRats. They are the S.A.M.E!
Mad Hatter commented:
#11, Valerie,
I noticed that as well. He was trying to have a ‘gotcha’ moment about Romney and his approval of negative adds. When in reality Chris “one of our hero’s from the 60′s Saul Alinsky” Mathews doesn’t have the manhood to talk about how the National Debt has gone up under Obama.
How gas prices have tripled per barrel of oil under Obama, and what the real unemployment rate is since the Obama Labor Department has stopped counting unemployed people that have stopped looking for work.
Here’s Chris Mathews in his Alinsky worship mode with the Socialist Bernie Sanders.

Oh, dear God. Folks, you need to listen to that link at #16. That’s Chris Matthews quoting Saul Alinsky to explain why it’s ok to lie about the other side’s position.
What this comes down to is total contempt for the voters. You have to demonize the other side, because otherwise rational people will not be excited enough to support you.
THIS IS NOT LIBERAL, IT IS UNAMERICAN. THIS IS WHAT THE F***ING STALINISTS DID IN RUSSIA, and the result was millions upon millions of people dead, and seventy years of tyranny.
Lying about the other side’s position because you need to lie in order to persuade people to vote for you is evil.

My friends==== Lost in all this is the question by tingles was a good one. The adds came from Romney’s pac, and to suggest that he didn’t either know or see these in advance is laughable. Sununu saying it’s legal answers none of the questions. Romney is a slithering snake and should be treated as one.
Jack D. commented:
MSM, in coordination with the Obama re-election campaign and Soro’s tentacle operations, want to pick the Republican candidate. At the same time they will try to weaken all the GOP candidates.
The mantra of the Democrats and the rest of team Obama in the 2012 re-election campaign is, “You think Obama is bad, just think what will happen if you allow a Republican in office.”
Throw in a heavy dose of fear and play the race card often and team Obama feel they have the successful formula.
FU#K OBAMA commented:
Finally Newt is showing the fight that needs to happen. Romney is a RINO and needs to go down. Romney will give us another 4 years of Imam Obama. Romney is who the Imam wants to run against and if choosen the Imam will make Newt’s criticism look like schoolyard play time. The LSM is all for Romney knowing they will destroy him in his battle with the Imam.
Romney is a east coast liberal who should be challenging Imam Obama in the democratic primary, who knows, he would probably win that one. Afterall, Romney and Imam Obama are not that far off each others views for American governance. They both are big social liberals, they both want to destroy the 2nd Amendment, they both hate free speach, they both want big government solutions to all our problems and they both want a EU style of socialism with a ruling elite and everyone else being servants.
Romney will never get my vote…..and I am not the only one either!

The only obvious agenda to me is that Fox news and the establishment GOP is firmly in favor of a neocon in the mold of a Bush than a Ron Paul. Forget Obama for a moment, the REAL fight is over the heart of the GOP and right now the neocons in the form of Romney are back in the driver’s seat.
How did that happen????

PetraKro commented:
You haven’t been following the conversation. The REAL fight is indeed against the disastrous Obama administration. As for you not seeing another agenda, perhaps you haven’t looked.
Why is Chris Matthews so obviously inserting himself as the story, and so obviously trying to block Romney and his surrogates from speaking about their plans for the country? I think that Chris Matthews wants to block Romney’s message, because he fears that it might appeal to his viewers.
Chris Matthews explains a lot in the clip below, and at #16 above, about his approach. He thinks he personally, is allowed to lie. It’s easier for him to lie if he doesn’t have to contend with the candidate’s or the surrogate’s actual words on a topic.
In the clip below, Chris Matthews says that Saul Alinsky, his hero, taught that if you merely tell the truth, you can’t get anything done. That, of course is itself a lie. What you can’t get done in those circumstances is something that is against the self-interest of people, generally.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uvng7TVf-wo
We can do better than this. We don’t have to accept the big lie as a proper foundation for our public life. We don’t have to tolerate “news” sources that are self-acknowledged liars.
donh commented:

I love the way more and more folks are biting back at the LSM news mumblers. I loved the one the other day where the pol said, “Name them…” That really sets these asshats back on their heels. In that case the news clown just kept making the assertion and the pol just kept saying he can’t respond to some nebulous “somebody”, so name a name. South Carolina Tea Partiers Wish Romney Would Just Go Away
[If Gingrich, who many view as the ultimate Washington insider, seems
like an improbable figure for the very anti-establishment Tea Party to
rally behind, consider this: some Tea Partiers now view Gingrich as an
honorary outsider because of how thoroughly Washington insiders have
been trying to politically destroy him.
"He was run out (of his speakership) by the Republican establishment, so to
speak, the insiders," Olson said. "Right now, everybody who's coming out
against him are Republican insiders. (John) Sununu, others who supposedly
were working under him (as House speaker) who were part of forcing him
out. So, in a sense it put Newt, even though he's an insider, it put him on
the outside, if that makes sense."]
btw, in case you missed it: Gingrich Wins Tea Party Straw Poll
[The poll, taken among 23,000 Tea Party enthusiasts organized by the
Tea Party Patriots, one of the nation’s biggest Tea Party organizations,
had Gingrich winning with with 31 percent of their vote, registered in a
conference call on Sunday night.]

I just don’t get this worry that private citizens are allowed by law to put political ads in the media to say what they want to say. So what? Why should a candidate have any responsibility for what private citizens do that may or may not help his cause? The only barrier I can imagine is slander or libel of a person by such ads.
There was a strange case in an MO Dem primary probably in ’08. Some Dem challengers to Carnahan, a Congressman, printed flyers I guess that criticized Carnahan with no name of the sponsoring person(s) on it. The FBI investigated. It was discovered that Jeff Smith and other Dems produced the flyer. They denied to the FBI, however, and went to jail for the lying. Try to get your heads around this. It’s illegal to criticize a candidate for public office unless you identify yourself. It might be cheap and sleazy of a competitor to do, but shouldn’t the citizenry be allowed to criticize candidates or public officials anonymously or openly? Again, so long as the content is not outright slander or libel. Opinion is different. And we have lots of leeway on content in political ads, it seems.
