Obama-Endorsed Occupy Movement Calls For Coordinated West Coast Port Shutdown on 12-12

The Obama-endorsed Occupy Oakland leftist movement called for a coordinated shutdown of all West Coast ports on December 12.

Occupy Oakland released this statement yesterday, via Free Republic:

Proposal for a Coordinated West Coast Port Shutdown, Passed With Unanimous Consensus by vote of the Occupy Oakland General Assembly 11/18/2012:

In response to coordinated attacks on the occupations and attacks on workers across the nation:

Occupy Oakland calls for the blockade and disruption of the economic apparatus of the 1% with a coordinated shutdown of ports on the entire West Coast on December 12th. The 1% has disrupted the lives of longshoremen and port truckers and the workers who create their wealth, just as coordinated nationwide police attacks have turned our cities into battlegrounds in an effort to disrupt our Occupy movement.

We call on each West Coast occupation to organize a mass mobilization to shut down its local port. Our eyes are on the continued union-busting and attacks on organized labor, in particular the rupture of Longshoremen jurisdiction in Longview Washington by the EGT. Already, Occupy Los Angeles has passed a resolution to carry out a port action on the Port Of Los Angeles on December 12th, to shut down SSA terminals, which are owned by Goldman Sachs.

Occupy Oakland expands this call to the entire West Coast, and calls for continuing solidarity with the Longshoremen in Longview Washington in their ongoing struggle against the EGT. The EGT is an international grain exporter led by Bunge LTD, a company constituted of 1% bankers whose practices have ruined the lives of the working class all over the world, from Argentina to the West Coast of the US. During the November 2nd General Strike, tens of thousands shutdown the Port Of Oakland as a warning shot to EGT to stop its attacks on Longview. Since the EGT has disregarded this message, and continues to attack the Longshoremen at Longview, we will now shut down ports along the entire West Coast.

* Participating occupations are asked to ensure that during the port shutdowns the local arbitrator rules in favor of longshoremen not crossing community picket lines in order to avoid recriminations against them.
* Should there be any retaliation against any workers as a result of their honoring pickets or supporting our port actions, additional solidarity actions should be prepared.
* In the event of police repression of any of the mobilizations, shutdown actions may be extended to multiple days.

In Solidarity and Struggle,

Occupy Oakland

Maybe Mayor Quan’s husband and daughter will participate in this Occupy protest, too?

And why are they reinforcing the agenda of a 1% president and his 1% global anti-US capital backers, like Soros?

Noticed that this is being coordinated from Oakland, where the lefty mayor let the occupiers go on in a city park until someone got killed. They picked the left coast because they know there will be no effort to stop them. Every time this bunch of communists get away with something they get bolder.

This is about one thing and one thing only. This is to PROVOKE OUR SIDE, the sane part of the American people. They have been infiltrated by anarchists and commies, and this exercise is meant to provoke us. That is what this is all about. They are provoking CIVIL WAR. It has nothing to do with taxing the rich or hating the Joos or what have you. Those are just things they can hide behind while they work on the real thing, which is provoking our side.

Plain as day. Wake up people.

Strangely enough, I’m OK with the stated union-busting aspect of this, but i disagree with almost everything else they stand for.

and they claim to represent the very same people they will be hurting. they’re playing to a completely different audience and as soon as the gullible realize this….

The Occupy groups are attempting to evolve along the lines of their historical role models, the Russian soviets of 1917-18. The sheer absurdity of such a conception will not deter the religious fervor of these animals.

Should we be graced with a non-milquetoast Republican administration in ’13, the unions and the Soros clique should all be RICO’ed for bankrolling this sedition.

The Occupy Oakland General Assembly? “General Assembly”?? Give me a break.

    Give me a break.

    Some thoughts:

This has Billy Ayers written all over it. The entire movement.

Next: who is funding this? These are people, and people need food, shelter, etc. These have to be paid operatives. Who’s paying? Soros.

MC is right– they are announcing their next “hit” ahead of time. It’s not genuine. It’s so the media has time to set up to cover it and make it look larger than life. They are attempting to create a cohort effect to convince people that the “movement” is legitimate.

Finally: I don ‘t see them picketing Soros’ home, the homes of sports pros, the homes of Hollywood stars. How about “Occupy Malibu”? Never will happen. As long as they keep their targets impersonal, they can use a “blank slate” directive. “Those big bad CEOs, business people.” It’s more demonizing of groups so they can steal and hand more power to Obama.

    It’s as simple as that.

This letter from Occupy Oakland is a good example of a ‘strongly worded letter’. Just think, if Obama had written something like this to the leadership of Iran, about their nuclear weapons development, he might have gotten some results. Obama could have threatened to shut down Iranian shipping if they didn’t end their weapons development. Instead, we get treats against US economic interests. Odd isn’t it? One could almost believe Occupy Oakland, and it’s union allies, along with Obama aren’t on the right side here.

The situation is grim.I propose a joint Canadian/American military response.Canada will insert a strike team just north of the port.I figure 12 grannies armed with switches, sponges, soap and water should do the job.You send similar forces south and west of the target.Within 24 hours everyone will have been cleaned and corrected.

oh, yeah, that a do it. Maybe the politicians need to get off their arses and finally do something.

stop the flow of food, supplies, emergency goods. what is our great leaders going to do, sit in their ivory towers and just watch these losers, yep, that a do it.

I say drop a net over them. Because this has gone way past demonstrations, this is breaking the law.

And this is a form of Terrorism. What do you think Obama will do. Will he man up, 😆 or play golf. Hummmm! let me see.

I knew someone who worked in the executive offices at Port of Oakland and coordinated with a port down in Southern California, possibly Los Angeles, but it’s been a while to recall all the details of which company owned which. Working in human resources at a very high, executive level, the whole thing was overwhelmed with union contracts, nobody could so much as say “boo” to any of the union workers, who were the majority and nobody earned less than $100,000 per year. There was lots of overtime at 1.5x and 2.0x hourly rates, bringing many unionized salaries up to the $200K level – and this shut down, if it happens, for just a few days time, will give the union workers a chance to work double and triple shifts once the shut down is over – thus a good end of year bonus earning season for union workers. So why would the union be against it – when it will result in a few days off, possibly paid if the union claims it wasn’t their fault and demands workers be paid for those days, coupled with time and a half and double time hourly rates to make up for the days shut down? If you think about it, this is a win-win for everyone on the left, including the union.

These seditious goons have been testing their tactics out to see what sticks. Remember, there was a rather violent disruption of the Seattle Longview, WA port recently.

Remember also the sudden rash of flash mobs terrorizing cities and towns across the country. Here’s another tested tactic to be used by the seditious “Occupy” movement – flash mobs: New Occupy plot: Flash mobs. ‘Alternative forms of protest’ put cities, cops at disadvantage http://kleinonline.wnd.com/2011/11/20/flashmobs/

If longshoremen cooperate in shutting down the ports they should be fired like Reagan fired the air traffic controllers. There are lots of people who would love the plum jobs that longshoremen have. Also, isn’t there a law, federal and/or state that secondary boycotts by union members are illegal?

  • Rhinestone Suderman

Sounds like the unions are behind this.

  • BurmaShave

I am looking forward to Obama and the Democrats endorsing this.

The Longshormans Union is not supporting this action. Protesters in all major West Coast cities will block the ports anyways. There may be clashes and violence this time. A clear message will be sent to politicians to change the laws regarding the tax structure in the US. Social unrest is the most effective way to create change in today’s society.
