The democrat-media complex is obviously feeling a bit uncomfortable with Newt’s recent success.

Yesterday Washington Post contributor Aaron Blake asked readers for dirt on Newt Gingrich.
Blake tweeted:

Of course, this blatant display of media bias surprises no one.

  1. WaPo looking for dirt on Gingrich? No surprise there.
This guy thinks just like someone who posts daily here said, “not bashing, just vetting the candidates”. But don’t look for neutrality or equal bashing from either WaPo or the local.

  2. Mr Blake is a no-talent, obsequious prog hack

    Typical of his sort

  3. This is the plan for each candidate in turn who surges to the top of the Republican field. Find something, anything to destroy their candidacy. If they can’t find anything – make something up. Doesn’t matter – with their control of the media, some part of it will stick in the public mind. Romney is trying to stay below their radar, but it won’t help when and if he gets the nomination. The same treatment is in store for him.

  5. #3, agreed!. However, even the stupidist or most disconnected voters will begin to notice how the msm attack in a serial fashion ANY GOP candidate (except Romney) while protecting Obama. This is a short sighted policy on the msm and Dems part because they will inure the public to any and all attacks on the GOP nominee in the pres election in November even as Republicans on a national level have made it clear they won’t nominate Romney.Meanwhile, the economy continues to slide into the pit of hell as the privileged “elites” are secure in family money or insider trader fortunes:aka, Congress. Only the proles suffer, which the elites think is their proper condition.

  6. They can’t write about Obama’s achievements. There is no Obama achievement.

No! Wait! He got energy prices to soar so he could save a thousand Solyndra’s and his billionaire donors.

  7. RE 3, 5; I call this the msm’s Hiroshima policy. Spare something from preliminary destruction in order to use your strongest attack on an undamaged and unsuspecting foe. They did it to McCain and the poor old fart just couldn’t understand why the msm didn’t “like” him anymore. Gingrich is a cold, self serving bastard, but if he gets the nomination, he will be Obama’s nightmare in the debates. If Gingrich see’s, as a Historian, an opportunity to burnish his reputation by getting the USA back on track, he will do it out of pure self interest.

  8. Answer him back with all of the dirt on Obama. The MSM never covers it so maybe it will be news to them.

  9. #5 Hope you’re right. Most people I know have only the vaguest of ideas about current events. When they listen or watch anything it is MSM – and they take it as gospel. Of course, most of the people I know are so-called Liberals and Independents. And by Independent I mean devoid of any political philosophy. They are sheep.

Sorry, I’m feeling a little cynical today.

  10. The right should see opportunity here… create some fake old news stories, tip off these reporters who just want tips handed to them instead of doing the footwork themselves… and then once they publish the hit piece, reveal that the story is fake and destroy the credibility of the reporter and newspaper.

  11. Re#s 3,5,7. You’re all absolutely right. This was a devastatingly successful strategy in 2008. I’m guessing they have at least two A-bombs (Hiroshims and Nagasaki) in their hip pocket for Mitt. I predict Little Boy will be dropped the week after the Republican Convention to wipe out the inevitable bump that the Republicans will get in the polls. Fat Man will be saved for the October surprise.

The frustrating thing about this strategy is that it appears to be unbeatable. It’s like a sports game where you know the opponent’s offense, but can’t come up with an effective defensive. Plus the ref is obviously been bought off.

As long as the MSM controls the national dialog, and the sheeple blindly sucumb to the propanda, I can’t help but see how this won’t work again. At least in an even race. The Republican’s have an advantage (much larger in my estimation, than is being acknowledged), that most Independents now have the “anybody but Obama” mindset.

The Republicans need to be very cautious and not get overconfident. Prepare the bomb shelters now for the nukes. Surely, there are enough moles in the Dem party to have an idea of what these bombshells might be. If Romney has any political savvy, he will “leak” these “dirty little secrets” early, so that he his team can be proactive instead of reactive come this summer and fall.

  12. #12 dwd: ” reveal the story is fake and destroy the credibility of the reporter and newspaper.

My friend, the newspapers have already lost all of their credibility, except among those who are either hiding under a rock or are willfully blind. (Arion Leiter and Son of Walden, my favorite trolls come to mind).
For that matter CBSNBCABCMSNBCNPR and company are flaming out as well.

  13. I tweeted back to him “One time Newt said you would be a good, objective, and respectful journalist. Can’t get more outlandish/incorrect than that.”
