Herman Cain had his largest fundraising day ever on Monday following the hit piece by Politico on Sunday night.

Herman was on with Laura Ingraham this morning.
The Right Scoop posted the video.

The Corner reported:

Yesterday was Herman Cain’s biggest campaign fundraising day, the candidate told Laura Ingraham this morning on her radio show.

When Laura asked him about the inconsistencies in his reactions to “settlement” news, Cain responded, “Remember this happened 12 years ago.” He continued, “The word settlement suggested some kind of legal settlement.” Reflecting on it later in the day, he realized “there was an agreement. … I didn’t recall it right away.”

He confirmed that he and his campaign did know that Politico was working on a story, but “made a conscious decision to deal with this when it came out.” Cain said, “ We weren’t going to chase anonymous sources.”

“It looks like the campaign is reacting in real-time,” Laura said commenting on the interview in the following segment. “And I guess trying to find its way and its footing.”

This is a witch hunt, plain and simple. No matter what Cain does – or for that matter any common sense thinking American – the left will distort.

Playing the left’s game gives an advantage only to the left.

Old people are easier to catch and will not remember how to get back home.

    See you on the bus!

  7. Good for Herman! The leftist, communist democrats, liberal media, unions and losers with their hands out will continue the assault on Cain and all Republicans and conservatives to stop the conservative momentum. All they do is attack with lies and distortions. I have never in my 63 years seen a government so corrupt. So disgustingly vile. It is thoroughly despicable what the Democratic party is doing to this country. They care nothing for We The People – all they care about is party and power and control. They MUST be stopped by any means possible. Their agenda must be stopped. They are killing our America. Just what Obama wants. A dead America. He makes me sick. Voting for Obama is voting for communism.

  8. Cain used a lot of “I don’t recall” in his interview with Greta last night. Left me feeling a little uncomfortable. Witch Hunt or not, it’s a shame he was ever involved with these “allegations” in the first place. Not sure what to think. One thing I do know, we don’t want another Slick Willie Clinton and Monica situation….

  9. The Politico article was a hit piece. That said, Cain didn’t do himself any favors by changing his story 3 times yesterday.

  10. Total recall when the light comes on a 12 year old event is a gift few have. Through the process, there is no admission of anything that indicates guilt on his part. Public comment is always subject to “redirects”.

I think that is a big part of this, not just Sarah Palin but also the TEA Party has been smeared by the leftist media as well. We will not take their attacks sitting down any longer. This is a war and the future of the Republic is at stake.

NEX Ut TYRANNUS….. Death to Tyrants.

  20. Herman Cain needs to make a one swoop conference and explain this like he did on Greta.

Disgusting what this nation is doing to a Conservative Tea Party member candidate. If he recognizes he is a member or not.

There needs to be an investigation into these accusations. But for me, I listen to his interview and very happy with his answers and he said that these woman POSSIBLY were paid the amount of money they would receive if fired and it would be according to the length of time they would for Restaurant Association.

He specified that he was not sure though but he would have know if it was in the thousand and that it would have been brought to is counsel and never was.

What more do they want to do to this great man, lynch him. This is a real example of how the Obama administration works or the evil liberals or possibly Romney himself.

I will take Cain’s character over Romney’s any day of the week.

And remember Cain has been married 43 years and as worked for 40 years and at the National restaurant Association his last stop he would harass two women? Unconscionable and a Witch hunt.

  21. Herman Cain shouldn’t have done what he did.

What was it he was supposed to have done again?????

Ahhhhh yes!!!! Campaigning while Black and Conservative, the double Whammy!!

  22. America is sick to death with exactly this type of HIT PIECE on Conservatives. And Crickets at NAACP and Sharpton and Jackson.

According to the liberals theories being Black was wonderful when Obama was running. But you get a Conservative Black and look out. His donations are increasing because Americans are Waking up and they will NEVER stand on the side lines and allow a good person to become another PALIN.

Go! Cain, we need a person who is NOT a politician and an added bonus, you are black.

  23. I’d like to thank Politico for pushing me to donate to Cain’s campaign. If you haven’t yet, send something, let the Socialist Hacks know that everything they do is going to backfire.

  50. I am so sincerely sorry to let you all know you’re being played.

It is an undeniable fact that Herman absolutely would have “been in on” the settlement issue.

That is how it works in terms of legal action.

HC is trying to hide the ball but it will backfire.

  51. I think Soros is discovering more about how the Right works–and it’s not that different from the Left.  People are jumping on this bandwagon without knowing anything about it.  No one here knows anything about what he has done.

Yes the media is biased. Duh. But that isn’t the point.  Remember when people wanted to know more about Obama and everyone on the Left shrieked “racist?”   Now the Right is calling “liberal!” without knowing anything and defending him as if…Stupid.  The media would look really bad if they were wrong.  What do they know while all the conservatives go ape sh*t on this?

As I said, t is an undeniable fact that Herman absolutely would have “been in on” the settlement issue. He says he “didn’t know about it” and then  ”I forgot–it was 12 years ago.”

He didn’t forget.  He should have consulted his attorneys before speaking about it.

Cain is too green and too arrogant.  This is a bad combo.  He can be manipulated very easily.  Like Obama, he doesn’t have foreign policy experience or political know-how.  He already has been played by the Islam promoters.  He could not discuss Palestine/Israel with any knowledge base.

So yeah, I’m worried.  This is in no way like the Justice Thomas fiasco. Anita Hill was a nutter.

I say Soros is in this somehow, and he will find either how to promote Cain, or he will destroy him.  Too bad Cain thought he could lie and get away with it.

That all said, it is horrible that the media is not of the people , by the people, or for the people.

I totally agree with Levin that Obama gets a free pass.

My point is that we’d have to KNOW the facts and we don’t. Everyone is barreling forward.

The tact should be that don’t make accusations that are unfounded–make all the arguments but leave a back door open. Twenty years ago Cain was younger. And YOU who are reading this don’t know enough about Herman Cain’s personal life. Not really.

It appears that the lady or ladies were offered severance pay and agreed to a dismissal! Did you know in some cases like this the party being terminated will be given a “Good Faith” “Letter of Reccommendation?”

Sooo let us get this past us Please. It was a smear campaign from whom I really do not know but I have been maybe thinking it was the White House/DNC Think about it with Mr. Cain the kenyan fraud and his moron MSM would have a lot of trouble playing the race card. And yes Barry will not hold up against Mr. Cain in a debate. Mr. Cain is clear and precise and to the point and I can promise you the kenyan fraud is scared to death of Mr. Cain. But most of all the “Race Card ” will be almost impossible for them to play.

God Bless and Protect Mr. Cain and his loved ones.

  56. If Cain is clean then Ginger is correct that the race card can’t be played. But the Uncle Tom card will be.

I used to really like Cain and people here were on my case. Now I think he is getting into an arena he is unprepared to deal with. He feels he doesn’t need to know a lot– he will have advisers, he says, who he will rely on.

This is not a good perspective on the part of president.

Hope he is not a sleaze, but I still wouldn’t get excited about him too much and project all of our legitimate gripes through this lens.

  57. My follow up to #58

If Mr. Cain has been saying his attorney, but maybe this attorney, was hired by the “National Restaurant Assocation then the chances of Mr. Cain being envolved in the settlement is -o-
He could had been briefed on some of the agreements of the settlement but after all these years I can see where he has forgotten a lot if what he was told.

  58. #54

It is impossible to know at this point. That’s all. Everyone is projecting their own sense of being treated unfairly on this.

  69. Correction: INTERNAL INVESTIGATION, LOL

  70. For GOP presidential candidate Herman Cain, the questions far outnumber the answers.

Mark Block, chief of staff for the Cain campaign, announced the campaign was hiring an investigator to check out claims that a private Wisconsin-based firm owned and run by Block and his No. 2 picked up the tab for as much as $40,000 in campaign expenses for the Cain campaign earlier this year.

“We’ve retained independent counsel to look at the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel story and report back to us,” Block said Tuesday at a Washington, D.C., media event.

A reporter for ABC News continued to pursue the issue, asking the former Wisconsin political operative a couple of follow-up questions, including one about his role in the matter.

“Why don’t we talk about the campaign going forward?” Block asked.

That’s not the only question he ducked.

Block, the 57-year-old former head of the state chapter of Americans for Prosperity, didn’t respond to calls and emails from the Journal Sentinel asking for the name of the investigator and whether Block or Linda Hansen, Cain’s deputy chief of staff, played a role in selecting the individual.

Also, the Journal Sentinel asked about Cain’s statements Monday that he was in the dark on the issue.

Speaking to Fox News, the former CEO of Godfather’s Pizza said, “I’m not aware of this report, so my staff has not had time to go through it.”

“We will take a look at it,” Cain said. “But at this point, I didn’t even know about the report until you brought it up on the show.”

Yet No Quarter first contacted Block and Hansen on this topic in the summer, and Block was provided a series of questions and all relevant documents last week.

  71. Cain Accuser Got a Year’s Salary in Severance Pay By JIM RUTENBERG, JEFF ZELENY and MIKE McINTIRE November 1, 2011

WASHINGTON — The National Restaurant Association gave $35,000 — a year’s salary — in severance pay to a female staff member in the late 1990s after an encounter with Herman Cain, its chief executive at the time, made her uncomfortable working there, three people with direct knowledge of the payment said on Tuesday.

The woman was one of two whose accusations of sexual harassment by Mr. Cain, now a Republican candidate for president, led to paid severance agreements during his 1996-99 tenure as the association’s chief. Disclosure of the cases has rocked Mr. Cain’s campaign just as he was surging in polls.

Further challenging Mr. Cain, a lawyer for the second woman called on the restaurant association to release her from a confidentiality agreement signed as part of her settlement, raising the prospect that she could publicly dispute Mr. Cain’s account of what happened. The lawyer said the confidentiality agreement had left her unable to respond to Mr. Cain’s dismissal of the complaints against him as a “witch hunt” or to his denials of any inappropriate behavior toward the women.

“He’s basically saying: ‘I never harassed anyone. These claims have no merit,’ ” said the lawyer, Joel P. Bennett of Washington, who represented the woman in her initial agreement. “And I’m sure my client would have a comeback to that.”

The precise nature of the encounters between Mr. Cain and the two women remained murky. He has said over the past two days that he joked with one of the women about her height, but he has not addressed what happened with the first woman — the one who received the $35,000 payment…..

Why Herman Cain supporters are sticking with him

[Along those lines, one of the most interesting stories today comes from
The Des Moines Register - which just this weekend had released a poll
showing Cain leading the GOP field in the Hawkeye State.

The Register contacted more than 20 of the poll’s Republican
respondents for follow-up interviews in the wake of the Cain
scandal - and found that none of them said the allegations
would cause them to reject Cain as a potential pick. Here’s
one of the responses they got:

"Poll respondent Rick Hall, a Des Moines accountant, said, “Unless it rolls
into something undeniably very bad at his core, it will have no effect on
my feeling about Mr. Cain as far as a viable candidate. It happened far
enough ago, I’m not surprised that this thing wouldn’t follow many
    highly placed corporate officers.”

    Along with this:

Renfred Miller, a 27-year-old West Des Moines resident who works
in sales, said it would have been nice to hear about the situation from
Cain first, “but obviously he thought it was baseless and didn’t matter.”

    And this:

After witnessing costly regulations on farms and at the local feed mill,
Adam Cook, 25, an agronomist from Ellsworth, still likes Cain best, partly
because he wants to do away with the U.S. Environmental Protection
Agency. “I’m not really worried about it,” Cook said of the sexual
    harassment allegations.]

    Amen..

“I wouldn’t characterize it as an ax to grind,” Bennett said. “I’m sure
she feels as though she wasn’t treated properly by Herman Cain.”

But Bennett said said he does not remember the specific
    allegations
, or what kind of settlement they eventually
    reached.]

but CAIN changes his story?? gah!!

  81. It appears that the lady or ladies were offered severance pay and agreed to a dismissal! Did you know in some cases like this the party being terminated will be given a “Good Faith” “Letter of Reccommendation?”

    HMMMmm,

Did HR not only find the complaint without merit, but a fraudulent claim?

Don’t go away mad, just go away settlement. (as in I just been involved in a low 6 figure Just Go Away settlement in the company I work for, because counsel felt it was not worth the litigation cost)

Yes, it is an old link.. just a little sly humor. ;) I don’t think Palin will endorse anyone until the general election, if then. Can’t really blame her.

    btw, she backed McCain too..

    and woah, were conservatives ever
mad about that, heh, they still are..

but jmho, don’t think she’d ever do it again..

hey bg! I’m still one of those stuck in AZ with McCain and still mad at Sarah stumping for him, calling him the maverick. I also heard her on Glenn Beck when he was not pleased with her, saying that she believed that McCain had seen the light. Disappointed to say the least – when there was a real conservative running Deakin – and I’ve talked about him wth you before. And ex-military man who was supported by 912 groups and the TP.

Then Mama, you must totally agree that Cain would not be privy to the payout due to confidentialy clauses.

Report: Cain voted for Clinton – Washington Times

“A new report claims that Republican presidential contender Herman Cain voted for Democrat Bill Clinton for president in his first run, as well as for two Nebraska Democratic candidates in the past.
In a story on the Nebraska Watchdog website, Joe Jordan writes that Mr. Cain supported Mr.Clinton during his 1992 presidential bid, 17 months before he squared off with Mr. Clinton over his push to overhaul the national health.”

How is it that Cain supporters get it, but people who want to see him give a straight answer to a question are “dumbed down”?
Where were you when all this “dumbing down” was happening?
It must be nice to be immune to the “dumbing down”.
I’m so dumbed down I almost couldn’t find my keyboard this morning.
    But then I did.
Now on this did he/didn’t he issue, do you really think the women will not come forward? This whole thing is a media cycle buildup. Of course they’re not going to pour the whole thing out in one day. Their product is stories. They dump the whole story in one day, and they have to report on something else.
What’s going to happen is somebody will offer the silenced alleged victim more money than she received in the shut-up-and-go-away settlement, and she’ll tell all. And it won’t match Cain’s “you’re about the same height as my wife” story, and then there will be two versions of what happened and people will be free to decide if they believe Cain.

Now I look back to the O’Donnell interview where Cain insisted he was too young to march in the civil rights movement because he was in high school at the time after the indisputable facts were put right in his face that he was a senior in college and already graduated from college in 67 and 68 when the movement was hot. This makes me think Cain has a problem with 1) telling the truth and 2) admitting he misremembered (to put it politely).

So sorry, but this dummy would like some straight answers from a guy who wants to run the whole country and has never run a state or even a city.

  87. Clearly Cain is hiding something. He is accused of sexual harassment not once, but TWICE!! Something happened. Let’s find out exactly what happened, so we can decide for ourselves. Cain’s behavior to date is not one of an innocent man.

  88. I haven’t like the way this has unfolded…just heard (radio) one woman wants out of the confidentiality agreement to tell her side and the other woman received more like a year’s salary. Thought I might see more info/confirmation of this at Drudge or here.

No no no. One has nothing to do with the other.

    Yes Obama gets a pass.

No, Cain WOULD have known about the women’s confidentiality agreements. He would have had a non-disparagement agreement pertaining to the women. By saying there is NO merit to the claims he is calling them liars.

Why is it so difficult to imagine that Cain ever chased women?

You know nothing about the man. Nothing. And yet you are all backing him with ferocity.

I’m sure you realize that the Dems did the exact same thing re: Obama. Stop giving him a pass. A year’s salary is big in the legal world. Nuisance cases are smaller.

They gave the women “shut up” money, and had Cain shut up, for a reason. They didn’t ‘t want this to damage the reputation of the NRA.

Cain does not have enough experience and he doesn’t stick with truth on the record.

I DON’T TRUST CAIN. And I felt this way before all this came out. The media is just warming up. Cain should have told the truth. And ai don’t think he should play the race card.

There are a lot of very very smart people in politics. And they play for keeps. I just cringe watching all of this because it’s like being trapped on the railroad tracks with a train coming. Those who know are laughing as the aright stumble all over themselves to defend someone and facts they know nothing about.

It should stand that I’d Cain did wrong then it’s a concern to the Right. Beat up the media, focus on Obama and see how it plays out.

If Cain WAS doing these kind of things then he believed he was protected by the confidentiality agreements, which is shades of Clinton.

…“Cain, who has been married to his wife Gloria for 43 years, did tell at least one campaign staffer this year about the possibility that claims of sexual harassment could surface, according to the aide. Cain, this person said, described a case in which he fired an employee in 1990s and the woman alleged sexual misconduct or harassment. Cain told the campaign staffer he had beaten the case and that the woman had paid for his legal fees. The aide had no further details….

Information about the incidents was apparently closely held, even among association board members. But one woman’s complaint apparently did make its way to at least some figures on the governing board when, at an association event, one board member got word that a female employee had complained about Cain’s advances, according to a source who was at the event.

The source said the board member asked the woman directly about the episode and was told that Cain had invited her up to his suite at a prior association event.”

  92. I am not certain where you are getting your information, however great topic. I must spend a while finding out much more or working out more. Thank you for great info I used to be looking for this info for my mission.
