Another woman was raped during an #Occupy protest, this time in Baltimore. The victim claims no one would help her and she wants the protest to be shut down.

I was taught trust is something earned, not just a given. Why do people lock their doors, windows, garages, etc. Seems that we don’t just “trust” others to do what is right. What type of individual thinks you can just pitch your tent, sleeping bag and belongings somewhere, and all will be Nirvana? This woman, if she isn’t a college kid, is also out of her league. These are bad people they are associating with, the dregs of society, and they are too dumb to realize it. In the video she doesn’t say nobody would help her, she says nobody will help identify the assailant. But she goes on to say that nobody knows who anybody is – and when you have a crowd of thousands of people who are there for a cause, odds are they really *don’t* know anything about an assailant – if there really was one. I can’t believe that a big crowd of do-gooders would ignore screams. I was attacked once, inside a building in New York, and I didn’t make a noise – somehow it was an ego thing, but I didn’t scream. He had knocked me to the floor and I managed to writhe to somebody’s door and *knocked* on it! This reminds me of that time the progressive online media said that Sarah Palin was “hiding in the bushes” listening to a democrat talk. A photo showed that although there was a shrub between her and the speaker, she was in standing in the open on a sidewalk! If both sides wouldn’t exaggerate the truth so much – take a little grain of truth and exaggerate it so far that it goes “boing” and separates from any truth there might have been, we’d have a better picture of what’s going on and end up being be less polarized. Each side is whipping the other side into a frenzy.

I would never expect Fox News to paint the OWS Movement in a beautiful light, about people who are fed up with corporations buying out politicians who do not represent their constituents desires. I think the heart of the OWS Movement has a lot of credible and just things to say. Our Congress no longer functions for the people but for the money. In addition, our people are poorer than dirt. With a ready supply of food, drugs, and guileless children to be had, it should be no surprise that a criminal element has infiltrated many of the Occupy encampments in order to prey upon a trusting and defenseless population. It was entirely predictable.
The activist organizers and leaders of these protests have, in reaction, chosen to supplement these crimes with one of their own. By attempting to suppress and discourage reportage and, in some cases, by refusing to hand over perpetrators to the proper authorities (an obvious attempt to maintain the illusion of an idyllic communal, as well as an expression of their general contempt for society and its institutions), they have become, not only willing accomplices to the crimes themselves but, in a larger sense, betrayers of those innocents in their care.
They have, no doubt, made the cold-blooded calculation that these crimes represent necessary sacrifices for the greater good. Of course, it’s always someone else’s sacrifice, isn’t it? I was in Baltimore on business a few weeks ago. I noticed the OWS encampment (right across from my hotel) and decided to check it out. I was dressed in casual business attire and I guess that didn’t sit well with the OWS protesters. I was made very uncomfortable within a matter of minutes and felt threatened enough to leave. I lived in Baltimore for 8 years, so i am certainly no stranger to the area, but this felt different. This felt like it could get ugly in a hurry. I am just a regular Joe, but if I am not welcome there, who is? Do I have to be looking for a hand out to be welcomed to the group? Because I am not about to do that. I agree with some of their complaints about big business buying government… But this garbage that somebody owes you something is nonsense.

-No eye witnesses or leads
-Occupy movement has no centralized authoritative body.
It can’t help her in an official capacity, nor does anyone there officially speak for the movement, meaning Occupy Baltimore can neither officially condone nor condemn the event. Ergo, the “movement” isn’t responsible for the crime, and cannot be held culpable, meaning it should not be broken up. If a Christian commits a crime in the name of their particular denomination, should Christianity be “shut down”? No. The Occupy Movement is more of a sentiment rather than an organization. Besides which, there is no evidence linking an Occupier to the crime. It could be a passerby, a vagrant, or even a person who dislikes the OWS movement so much that they committed a terrible crime to discredit the movement. Unlikely, but people will walk into a crowded public place and open fire on people for their political beliefs. Rape is a violent crime of power, not a sexual one. Any number of motivations could exist.
She needs to go to the police, who are the designated law enforcement agency of society. Yelling at security guards to break up the movement is an obvious ulterior motive. The drug thing has no direct links to the topic at hand. Some people may do drugs, but unless that was a cause in this scenario, it should not have been brought up. That part of the report shows an obvious bias and a dislike for the movement, propelling the viewer to view the OWS movement et al. as criminals rather than any sort of legitimate movement.
If this station was a real news station, they would simply report on the facts of the case, not add in things that have no evidence on the story at hand. It is like reporting on tainted meat and saying that someone wrote some obscene graffiti in the packing plant’s bathroom stalls. Just keep it to the facts, please.

The woman said “I don’t know what he gave me” Therefore we don’t know if she was a willing participant in some sort of abusive drug situation. Also.. nobody probably stopped the “rape” due to the fact that she was not screaming “no” or “help” due to her being high from whatever she was on (possibly voluntarily). If she had been screaming people in the next tent would have heard the commotion.. therefore it was more than likely consensual. Listen to her she sounds like a crackhead. People have a right to peacefully protest, America was formed by peaceful protest that, later became a war for independence. So, they (and we) have the right to free speech because of protesting. I’m not a protestor, I’m an American teaching in a foreign country, but the government, both GOP and Dem, has fattened the wealthy and decimated the middle and working class through QE, tax breaks for the wealthy (as to create good jobs), and promoting (yes, promoting) war in many countries. These are not American ideals, free market ideals, and Judeo-Christian ideals, they are attacks to divide the American people and make a super class. Doesn’t anyone realize that sending jobs overseas for a global economy means that the pay scale for Americans will eventually normalize to the point where we are working for the pay scales of a China or India? Ron Paul talks about unsustainable policy, and he is the only one that has a true picture of the worldwide economy. Obama, Romney, Cain, Bachmann, or anyone else cannot make quality jobs when government is giving substantial advantage to large corporations. They have the money and backing to gobble up small business, create inflation, develop real estate and education bubbles, and WILL be the cause of DEflation or a revolt. The working man made this country and now the plantation owners have the government in their pocket and decimated the economy. They control the market and it’s rigged. They use propoganda to rally true Americans to their cause so they can continue to reap big profits, put very little back into their communities, and can print money (devalue currency) to keep it going.
I’m surprised that a more organized Occupy movement isn’t coming to the forefront. However, I know that y’all are united in your Tea Party (old Southern GOP) beliefs and will not look to other sources for your information, and that, will give you more of the same. If the next President isn’t Obama, it doesn’t matter because the GOP has been doing the same things he has been doing. Go with Ron Paul, he will reduce taxes, bring soldiers back home, bring back some sound fiscal policy to Washington. Y’all backing the wrong horses. Your media is lying to you.
