Poop cleanup aborted.

Raw sewer: An unidentified man seen defecates on a NYPD patrol car in downtown Manhattan (Daily Mail)

New York mayor’s office postponed a cleanup of Zuccotti Park where the far left, socialist goons have been camping for the past month and protesting against capitalism.
CNN reported:

A cleaning planned for the Manhattan park where “Occupy Wall Street” protesters have camped out for weeks has been postponed, a move that averts a showdown between demonstrators and police.

The New York mayor’s office said Brookfield Properties, the owners of Zuccotti Park, told the city late Thursday the scheduled cleaning is off for now and “for the time being” they are “withdrawing their request” made earlier in the week for police assistance during the cleaning operation.

“Our position has been consistent throughout: the City’s role is to protect public health and safety, to enforce the law, and guarantee the rights of all New Yorkers. Brookfield believes they can work out an arrangement with the protesters that will ensure the park remains clean, safe, available for public use and that the situation is respectful of residents and businesses downtown, and we will continue to monitor the situation,” Deputy Mayor Cas Holloway said.

There had been fears of a standoff between New York officers tasked with clearing the park early Friday and protesters who wouldn’t budge. The city had ordered the protesters to leave by 7 a.m. so crews could clean the park.

But the protesters mopped, collected trash and scrubbed the pavement in the dead of the night as the Friday deadline neared for them to leave the premises for a cleanup. When the word of the postponed cleaning filtered through the more than 1,000 protesters who filled the park, they were elated.

The demonstrators, who have been chanting “All day! All week! Occupy Wall Street,” called the development a victory and planned to continue their passive resistance.

  1. Mayor Bloomberg fails. .Giuliani was a real mayor who knew how to keep law and order.

I have no problem with protestors protesting peacefully by day but they should not be camping out, especially overnight, on public venues. . . and Zuccotti Park is a public venue though owned by private interests (they get a tax break and permit allowances for allowing a public venue on their private property!!).

Also notice how media is making this seem bigger than it is when real knowledgeable folks know that the TEA Party Patriots dwarf this sideshow. . .

I hope some political leaders call this out.

And for now, Boycott Bloomberg and don’t visit NY. . . let him and his fellow merchants enjoy the new face they embrace!

  2. Tell the mayor that they are using too much salt on their freedom fries!

  3. If this was an encampment of the teeming homeless population of NYC Bloomberg couldn’t move fast enough to break this up!

  4. Failing to have taken remedial action at the outset NYC has now allowed a precedent to have been created. Here the landlord blinked. The lefties realize that they have an upper hand as their threat of confrontation worked; their trespass and other violations of law have been excused.

    Predictably this will escalate.

What continues to amaze me is the number of people in this country who have nothing better to do – and looking for work, which itself s/b seen as a full time effort, is something better to do – than to go to these Occupy sites.

  5. November 2012 can not come soon enough!

    Cain/?

Put Lt. Col. Terry Lakin in charge of our Armed Forces.

  6. Just take some fire house down there around 5 am and turn them on.

  7. #6 Bob Z. . . Save the Fire Hose and other actions that remind folks of the 60s Civil Right protests. We don’t want the media stoking sympathy for these miscreants and excrements. .

Given these Poopstock Protestors don’t mind stench, lets release some live skunks into the crowd. . . and they can be showered in the aroma of their ways.

  8. Off Topic:

Did any one watch Fox and Friends this morning? I have been boycotting Fox and Friends because of the way they treated Hank Williams Jr. This morning I turned it on at the last ten minutes and O’Reilly (Uck) was a guest and I heard them thank O’Reilly for his help and he proceeded to bash Hank. WHAT? I do not watch O’Reilly so did he bash Hank Williams on his show?

  9. Was there ever any doubt that Bloomberg would back down? The “owners of the park” give Bloomberg an out. So the protests roll on. And the regime in Washington continues to pull the strings and orchestrate the party.

  10. bloomberg is a loser…he sides with the filthy freaks out there

  11. The bottleneck is always at the top. Bloomberg is a gutless wonder unless he is taking away your food.

  12. Ginger. . Mark Levin Had hank Williams Jr on his show last night. . wow. .

And Hank Williams Jr just released a new song (keep the Change) that is shooting up the charts

    you can hear it here

ESPN is out for me. .O’Reilly too. . as is Fox and Fiends (yes I spelt it that way on purpose!)

  13. #1 – we can’t all boycott NYC. Some of us live here and work here.

Thankfully, my job is in mid-town, but there are hundreds of thousands of people going back and forth to Wall Street every day.

I doubt they are feeling much affection for Bloomberg this morning!

How oh how are we going to rid the city of these smelly creeps?

  14. I dislike having to say this but when legitimate Government concerns back down because of threats of violence, it’s game over.

Pat Buchanan asks will America survive until 2025, I’m beginning to think not.

  15. Keep in Mind that Bloomberg was only permitted to serve two terms. .NYC had term limits for Mayor. .but he fought it and courts and eked out a third term. . .

And after winning 3rd term, started to buddy up to Obama. . .hmmmmm me smells a RAT!

NYC got what it deserves. . the sewage party

  16. Just as an aside because someone bought up Cain, Alex Jones was all over him because he was involved with the Feds and liked Alan greenspan.

    __________

Fox News might have been “fair and balanced” once upon a time, but those days are LONG gone. I haven’t turned them on in several years now – and I haven’t watched O’Reilly since the wuss softballed his interview with Obama after promising to ask the hard questions and then endorsed him.

Now that would be freaking “historic” 40 years later Democrat use fire hoses on violent mostly white trust fund babies who’ve been a$$ raped by Marxist professors for a degree in _____________Studies vs: what Democrats did 40 years ago turning fire hoses on nonviolent black folks. Yeah Democrat Party you’ve come a long way baby.

    Progressive Traitors are scum

  22. I don’t know what NYC is getting so excited about. Leftist looney folks in Bagdad By The Bay (San Francisco) have been taking dumps in public there for years. Some parts of the City are so filthy that you dare not walk there for fear of stepping in it. Maybe, it’s good for tourism.

  23. Bloomberg’s partner is on the Board at Brookfield that owns Zucotti Park and Brookfield also owns renewable power that just got a loan guarantee from our Dept of Energy – just one big happy corrupt family!

I am doing the same! They have so many liberals on their show now it is tiring! When they get a liberal on with a conservative there is no conversation. The conservative is polite but the liberal will cut in and over talk the conservative. When I feel my blood pressure rising because I am NOT allowed to hear both sides it is time to tune them OUT! The past few months I have been watching more of other channels as HGTV,etc.

BOYCOTT FOX and send the arrogant people at Fox a MESSAGE

  25. Get a subscription to GBTV.

  26. Bloomberg is a clown and Bloomberg IS WALL STREET.

He is appeasing. He is a VICHY NEW YORK. Plain and simple. Even a LIBTARD could figure this out.

    Well, maybe not a libtard.

I can’t find Hanks song “You keep the Change” on Amazon is he going to make a CD of it?

  31. “work out an arrangement with the protesters that will ensure the park remains clean, safe, available for public use…”

So the property owner and/or city authorities have to negotiate with the protesters. This legitimizes the protesters. If the squatters are violating the law then move them out use force. So sick of these parasites being tolerated they won’t just go away on their own.

As for whoever gets stuck cleaning up after them I hope the cleaners use precautions there has got to be dirty needles and other biohazard stuff out there.

  32. I’m sure these enterprising, idealistic young people have already begun organic farming operations in their pit latrines… some salad should go well with the pigeon roasts they’ll be living on soon

Here is a case of Dosy( sp.) he said your are comparing president to Hilter?

That starting the ball rolling but I believe Hank Williams was really stating, you can’t compromise with Obama. He has his socialist views and golfing isn’t going to change the mind of someone who acts like a dictator. I appreciate what Hank Williams said and he was saying what we all think.

O’Reilly is a pinhead, he shoves this pinhead or patriot on everyone else. But he is the biggest pinhead. Because of Comments Hank made all the talking heads on Hannity and other shows said that he must be on Drugs again.

Bush was also called Hilter, so was Rumsfeld by Bahar and others. This PC is really going way to far. Someone says the word Hilter and the nation goes Ballistic. Freedom of speech isn’t hand picked, good for the left but bad for the right and this is turning us into a bunch of pansies waste.

  35. Bloomberg is paralyzed by indecision.

See he’s out there seeing all these idiot young kids and foolish old hippies, but he can’t find the real culprit in the crowd: The middle-aged angry white conservative man.

When he finds that SOB, you can bet he’ll do something about it.

  36. he must be on Drugs again is referring to Hank, Correction. not Reilly, but I think he is on something!! lol

  37. Bloomberg needs to grow a spine.

  38. And I for one, am getting sick of seeing this picture of this slimy animal.

  39. Patty and Ginger,

I don’t know what else to think on this one.
I was watching Fox & Friends when that happened.
Hank Williams Jr made a comment involving Hitler and Obama.
These guys (F&F) are on tv 3 hours a day and they immediately recognized that he had opened himself up to accusations of comparing Obama to Hitler.

For the record, comparing anybody to Hitler is a non-starter. It just makes everybody cringe. All further dialogue is now impossible.

So seeing this, Doocey and the gang gave HWJ every opportunity to back off it, qualify, or clarify it ahead of the firestorm. He had ample opportunity to consider what he’d said and he stood by it. Good for him.
But he can’t now turn around and imply that they set him up somehow or that they “put him down” as he put it. They all but begged him not to let the comment stand.

So ESPN fired him. What does he expect? They don’t like controversy.
Remember when Rush Limbaugh was on ESPN. His comments about McNabb were not racist, but to the contrary, were pointing out the racism of others regarding McNabb.
Reaction: Rush was fired from ESPN.
Last year Rush had a chance to get in on part ownership of an NFL team. The NFL shut it down, citing that same tired disingenuous and purposeful misinterpretation of what Rush actually said (plus some things he never did say).
That’s just the way it is. People in showbiz know it. Or they should know it.
You want to be a big boy and put Obama and Hitler in the same sentence on national television, then expect no blowback from the liberals? Okay. Whaddya think now?

As for O’Reilly, I gave up on him a long time ago. I watch the whole hour in 10 minutes on fast forward, stopping only when a conservative I like is talking.

But I did stop the other night on Dennis Miller (a conservative who used to be an uber-leftist) who had a great line for HWJ:

“Are you ready for some foot-mouth !!?!!”

  40. When the politicians and police FAIL to do the job they are elected to do , civil society breaks down and leaves the victims of mob rule no other option than to engage in their own self defensive operations. Vigilante strife .

  41. Donh
A lot of police are unionized. I know the New York City police are.
That’s got to factor into it. They hesitate to put themselves on a side against the other unions (assuming there are union dollars behind this).
On the other hand, there may be a valuable lesson in this if we can start pitting the unions against each other instead of idly watching them ally against the people who pay their salaries (whether they are public or private).

  42. WSJ/Rush Limbaugh are reporting that the reason that Brookfield has backed off cleaning up the park is that they have been threatened by many elected officials!

  43. Can we at least send them some Lysol, Deodorant, and possibly some bars of soap, pig sty’s smell better than this by now.
Oh yeah, and lets not forget the TP.

  44. Why do I get the feeling that Jenine Barfofolo and Debbie (someone please) Washa mewith soap are the heads of this protest.

  45. connecting the dots would be a full time job with plenty of overtime. all the connections. bloomberg’s long time girlfriend sits on the board of brookfield which also has connections to
granitegrok windfarm. john podesta’s sister-in-law is also a lobbyist associated with brookfield. it’s the agenda that take front and center. you would think they’d be interested in the condition of their properties unless of course another interest trumps that interest.
