Republican Herman Cain went on FOX News this morning to discuss the liberal media attacks on his integrity and reputation. The popular conservative told FOX News:
“I was falsely accused of sexual harassment.”
Via FOX Nation:

FOX Insider reported:

Cain stressed, “I have never sexually harassed anyone.” He did admit that he was accused of harassment while at the National Restaurant Association, saying, “Yes, I was falsely accused while I was at the National Restaurant Association. And, I say falsely because it turned out, after the investigation, to be baseless.”

When Jenna Lee asked whether there was any sort of settlement, Cain stressed that if there were, he was not aware of it. If the Restaurant Association made a settlement, Cain said, “I wasn’t even aware of it and I hope it wasn’t for much because nothing happened.”

  1. CEO.President not aware of a settlement. Sure Herman.

  2. Wouldn’t it be that he was falsely accused because the allegations were baseless, regardless of the investigation results? I know that might be splitting hairs, but I didn’t like when Bill Clinton played games with us about the things he allegedly had done, and I like it even less when a supposed conservative Republican does it. I hope it is true that Mr. Cain did not do these things he is being accused of, but it sure doesn’t make me want to vote for him at this point. I really would like someone to just stand out as a conservative so that we don’t get stuck with Romney, but it sure doesn’t look like it’s going to happen.

  3. does it really matter. I’ve heard worse jokes from some women than men

  4. Oh those evil conservatives. First there was Robert Bork. He was guilty of … well, something or other.
Then there was Clarence Thomas. He made Anita Hill uncomfortable… or something.
Oh don’t forget Sarah Palin. She had a baby instead of an abortion, and she can see Russia from her house, and she is dumb and guilty of lots of … somethings or others.
And now Herman Cain. He’s got to be guilty of … something or other.
It must be true, I read it in the New York Times.

  5. #4 bing……………..we are now watching the lynching of a conservative black-man ………………

  6. This is a standard Democrat trick, predictable as sunrise.

I don’t care if they find his closet to be full of corpses, I don’t pay it any attention.

  7. Well, Mr. Cain is now firmly on the record, stipulating to the fact that there was an accusation, and denying he harrassed anyone. Now let the lefties and/or the dirty tricks squads do their best to prove that he did wrong. The ball, as they say, is in their court now.

  8. My, my, we can go into the 90′s and dredge up things on this man, but we STILL can not find one thing about Mr. Obama; past associations, colleagues, transcripts, passport information, etc.? To be fair, I will wait till all the “facts” come out about Mr. Cain. In the same vein, I await the “medias” reporting on Mr. Obama’s records and such as well, as the media is of course fair and balanced. /sarc…

  9. #6 Mannie, or Corpsemen! ;-)

  10. Oh Herman Cain, who do you think you are ?
A white man like Bill Clinton ? John Edwards ? Ted Kennedy ?
    :(

  11. 3 words…. fukkk the media

  12. Rings of Anita Hill..and back then it was a great way to extort some money. I dont believe this for a second, and the post that talked about how come they can find this crap but find/found NOTHING on Zero is spot on!

Time to gear up people, this is the start of it. We cannot cower from the MSM. James O’keefe sure showed us that they will go to any length to “pick” our President for us. NOT THIS TIME, ELITIST PIGS!

  13. SOP for the left to use baseless accusations, they don’t even have to be credible, as long as you make a lot of them. Over time people will say ” I have so many questions about him or her” that I will vote for someone else. This is what they did to Palin also. They made a hundred baseless accusations against her and forced her to leave her Governorship or go broke defending herself.
To the left keep telling lies until enough people believe it.

  14. The Dems have real, provable sexual extramarital affairs and harassment cases by the carload (Clinton – a sitting president, Edwards, Weiner) and they trumped up, unprovable non-overtly sexual “gestures” against a successful black man who is challenging a Dem POTUS for the job.

  15. These allegations became so common in the 90s that it is certainly possible for a CEO to be unaware that the HR and Legal department settled one for five figures.

  16. I’ll throw this in the mix. I was curious to know if Cain had entertained a political contest at the time. This article says he’d been considering it for some time:

    http://www.nationalreview.com/primary-event/280385/cain-considered-1994-senate-run-katrina-trinko

We know how threatening a strong, conservative black man is to the Left. And they reduce themselves to some dirty tactics to eliminate opposing political stars. Remember, they’d been grooming a black star of their own – one who’d done some dirty things himself to be rid of a political opponent. These accusations against Cain were in the late 90′s.

And then who can forget the incredibly worthy Miguel Estrada? Bush wanted him on track for the Supreme Court. The Dems couldn’t let that happen. It would spoil all the lies they’d been telling about conservatives and lead their “brainwashed” astray:

Today, the Senate failed to end the Democratic filibuster of Estrada by a vote of 55 to 44 (60 votes are needed to end debate). He could be confirmed (Thomas had 52 votes in 1991), but liberal Democrats won’t allow it. Like Thomas, the hostility isn’t because he’s a minority – it’s because he’s a conservative minority, a threat to the notion that minorities should only think and vote Democratic.

This historic filibuster began a month ago. It’s the first time a cloture vote has denied a judicial nominee below the Supreme Court level.

  17. I have been expecting something like this. It is part of the standard operating procedure of the sleazy, underhanded Left. The twist themselves into pretzels to defend people like Clinton, even though there are eyewitnesses willing to go on the record, but they insinuate things against a successful black man, when they haven’t got anything of substance, in order to smear him. You can bet that if they had anything real they would have it in the headlines in neon letters.

SOP. No wonder Republicans are scared of the MFM. These people have no principles. Leftists have only ideology, and anything goes in order to advance it. Heaven forbid that a successful black man should step off the Leftist Plantation without kissing the approved Democrat butts and coming up the approved way.

These people make me sick. I just contributed to Herman Cain’s campaign. Scr*w the MFM.

  18. If only he had gotten a BJ, all this would be OK.

  19. This is nothing more than the dems(libs) trying to shift the focus off the December questioning hearing of Eric “the red Holder on fast & furious, and also trying to draw attention off of Stymie and his horrid, dropping like a rock approval ratings.
Nothing more than the continual hate and deceit ploys from our favorite bunch of liberal dick wads.

  20. Clarence Thomas redux. Been there done that dimwits. Let’s see how long you and the drive bys “make it” news.

  21. Has Conservatives ever tried to stop an African American from public office by saying they have done something sexual? Thomas, pubic hair, Cain, sexual harassment.

Why does the Liberals want to go into a stereo type of blacks and sex? Maybe to get whites to turn against them?

  22. Hey y’ll remember when Obama’s gay lovers got murdered during his campaign ?
His handlers didn’t just give them 3 money to shutemup.
What ? Y’ll don’t remember ? That was the lead story for months and months, headlining every TV show and newspaper and magazine and website.

    like i said:

[In the 1990s, sexual harassment became a
highly visibile part of American pop culture.]

    more here..

    Rape Abuse and Harassment Claims

[The hype began with Lin Farley’s book, Sexual Shakedown: The Sexual Harassment of Women on the Job, published in 1978. Later the book Sexual Harassment of Working Women (1979) by Catharine MacKinnon defined sexual harassment as a legal issue. Ellison v. Brady introduced the “reasonable woman” standard into law. Conduct was no longer analyzed from the perspective of a “reasonable person,” but of a “reasonable woman,” from the perspective of the complainant, not of the defendant.

In line with their agenda of re-engineering our society to fit their theories, Feminists have expanded the definition of abuse. Under the term “psychological battery,” it now includes: “acts of lying, humiliation, withholding information, refusing help with child care or housework.” And bear in mind that it is only men who behave this way in the Feminist definition.]

of course women never lie, oh wait, that’s so untrue.. unless
the accused is Republican, there, that’s better.. /truth sarc/

  25. They would accuse him of genocide if they could. Racists.

  26. Lets not assume it’s the Democrats behind this false story.

Rush is all over this today too. It’s insane what those pukes at Politico are doing…..unnamed charges, unnamed “women”, they want CAIN to say what he was accused of!
High tech lynching is RIGHT! I hope this backfires on these pukes big time. How much you want to bet obummer and his psycho minions are behind this?

I liked the caller who said people should send in Contributions to the Cain Campaign and write “Political” on the notice, check line item.

  30. I hope this encourages conservatives who believe in Herman Cain to donate even more money to his campaign. Go Herman Cain!!!!

  31. Well, this man must be doing something right. He has the dems diapers all in a wad. It would be really funny if it weren’t so serious. Some people might believe this trash.

be true too, like it or not, more than not, the 90′s were crazy with wild
accusations, most of which were settled silently to avoid court costs..

I really think Obama’s people deserve kudos for ” taking care ” of things , so that they don’t come back to bite him on his rump.
There was this typical white woman who had info about Obama’s birth and his mom and dad and all the fathers, and she ” died ” just in time .
Then there was this man who could bust open Obama’s shady moozie +thug associates and real estate deals, so Rezko was thrown in jail so fast he had no time to sing.
Even more “effective” is what happened to that guy who looked into Obama’s passport info, since Lt Harris ‘s dead body has not divulged anything yet.
And who can forget what happened to the 3 gay men of Obama’s errr…er..church ..they not talking anymore too.
Ofcourse the latest is how the Navy SEALS 6 got silenced so that the story of Obama slaying Osama lives on , I mean everyone who was there is poof..gone :( and there is no ( now mythical) live feed and no pictures too .
I wonder why Obama killed Awlaki and Qdaffy ? Maybe they had something on him too ???

past several years at all, you wouldn’t be asking questions.. ;-)

    ==

  37. Since there is absolutely no proof to this allegation other than he said she said, why don’t we stick to the facts.

The facts are Herman Cain’s record clearly shows that he supports bank bailouts, socialized medicine on a federal level, and the Fed’s continued manipulation of the dollar to provide “stimulus” to the economy and enable Washington’s runaway deficit spending. Herman Cain is NO TEA PARTY CANDIDATE.

At this time of crisis, America CANNOT afford to elect someone with such a spotty record of positions and endorsements. We absolutely must elect someone with a die-hard record of unyielding commitment to liberty, someone who we absolutely KNOW will shrink the size, role, and influence of the government in Washington. There are only two such candidates on the Republican field today: Rep. Ron Paul and Gov. Gary Johnson.

  38. Here’s are the problems none of you want to face:

    a) the LSM is going to do this to ANY conservative candidate. Remember the rock story (that many of you never bothered to defend Perry over. How odd!)?

    b) Politico reported the story yesterday. A reporter asked Cain about it and Cain tried to brush it off by asking the reporter if he [the reporter] had ever been accused of sexual harassment.

    c) Cain’s campaign manager calls into the Geraldo show last night and leave more questions unanswered than answered.

    d) today, Cain admits there was some truth to the Politico story by saying yes, there were accusations, but of course, they were bogus (what was he supposed to say? That they were truthful?)

    e) today, NBC is reporting that at least one woman was paid to shut up and go away. So at least part of the Politico story is correct.

    f) Cain claims that as head of the NRA, he was unaware of any settlement made on his behalf. Sorry, that dog won’t hunt.

This is not like the Thomas accusations. The accusations from Anita Hill were made only after Thomas was going through confirmation hearings. What destroyed Hill’s accusations was that it was learned that she had requested a transfer to follow Clarence Thomas to his new job (the one he held before he was nominated for SCOTUS.)

The women referred to in the Politico story were paid to leave.

I hope Cain can weather this, because he adds to the debate. But he now has more problems that this story; it is being reported there are some campaign donation irregularities that could land him, or at least his campaign manager, in pretty hot water.

  39. Both of these women were marginal employees who were in danger of losing their jobs. They concocted these stories they knew couldn’t be proven but knew they could get a settlement just to avoid the nuisance. That is what happened. Why isn’t the media reporting it.

  40. Was Godfather’s Pizza considered a ‘restaurant’?

  41. They would accuse him of commit genocide if they could.

  42. This is attempt by the left-wing to margnalize minority conservatives,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,look what they are trying to do with Marco Rubio……………..afraid he might be vp pick………….

  43. I notice they keep saying “five figures” … $1 less and it would have been four figures ($9,999)

10,000 is a lot less than what it would have cost in court. I suspect that 10,000 was the company standard offer to these harassment charges, since both got paid the same. Wonder if they got paid by Politico?

  44. ++

why the left & right are “Palin Cain”..

    GOP

    IOWA

    ==

  45. Yeosailor, five figures can also be $99,999. The problem here is not that Cain may have been falsely accused of wrong doing, but that his campaign knew the story was coming down the pike for at least ten days. Cain wasn’t blindsided like Perry was with the “rock” story. He knew about it, or at least his campaign manager did. They should have gotten out in front of it. Instead, they let it ride. Another problem is that now Cain admits there were accusations against him but give a really unbelievable tale of not knowing about any settlement, although he was head of the National Restaurant Assoc. at the time. That just ain’t believable, not to any logical person.

If this it is the case that Cain was falsely accused, he should make sure all the documentation and records are released on this issue. He is, IMHO, handling it badly. You never, NEVER, let these stories gain legs. You nip them in the bud before they gain traction. Now there seems to be some discrepancy between what Cain is saying and what his campaign manager is saying. Not good.

  73. I call this a lynching. And during the 90′s it seem to me that sexual harassment suits were all over the place. There were videos on it and seminars on it.

Even kids were calling 911 because they were claiming their parents were abusing them.

America became a nation where anyone could sue for anything and even though nothing happened, court would air on the side of the plaintiff.

Lawyers were having a field day. N.O.W. was complaining about women not having rights.

This is a witch hunt and I would love to know who is behind this almost as much as I want Obama out of office.

  74. Sometimes company settled out of court due to expensive litigation even though sexual harassment case was unfounded and suing companies became just the bread and butter of disgruntle employees. Beware of who you hire.

Mr. Perry would, however, steamroll in a general election, topping President Obama 45-37. (from my earlier link)
