Sarah Palin with her husband Todd spoke to a tea party crowd Monday in New Hampshire.

From her Facebook page:

In my speech on Saturday in Iowa, I said: “Between bailouts for Wall Street cronies and stimulus projects for union bosses’ security and ‘green energy’ giveaways, [Barack Obama] took care of his friends. And now they’re on course to raise a billion dollars for his re-election bid so that they can do it all over again.” This was shamefully on display yesterday at President Obama’s taxpayer-funded campaign rally in Detroit. In introducing the President, Teamsters President James Hoffa represented precisely what I was talking about as he declared war on concerned independent Americans and on the freshman members we sent to Congress last November by saying, “Let’s take these son-of-a-bitches out!”

What I say now, I say as a proud former union member and the wife, daughter, and sister of union members. So, as a former card-carrying IBEW sister married to a proud former Laborers, IBEW, and later USW member, please hear me out. What I have to say is for the hard working, patriotic, selfless union brothers and sisters in Michigan and throughout our country: Please don’t be taken in by union bosses’ thuggery like Jim Hoffa represented yesterday. Union bosses like this do not have your best interests at heart. What they care about is their own power and re-electing their friend Barack Obama so he will take care of them to the detriment of everyone else.

To the same degree Americans are concerned about irresponsible, greedy corporate execs who got cushy bonuses from taxpayer-funded bailouts, we should also be concerned about greedy union bosses who are willing to tank our economy just to protect their own power. As union history shows, power and greed corrupt. Just because you claim to represent union members doesn’t mean you are on the side of the angels. The greed of too many of these union bosses has all but destroyed the labor movement in this country, helped chase away our jobs, and is killing the American dream.

To see where this leads, look at what’s happening to the working class in our industrialized cities. These cities are going to hell in a hand basket thanks to corruption, crony capitalism, and the union bosses’ greed. The union bosses derive their power from your union dues and their promise to deliver your votes to whichever politician they’re in bed with. They get their power from you, and yet their actions ultimately hurt you. They’re chasing American industry offshore by making outrageous, economically illogical demands that they know will never work. And now that they’ve chased jobs out of union states, they’re trying to chase them out of right-to-work states like South Carolina, so eventually the jobs will leave America altogether. But these union bosses will still figure out a way to keep their gig, and so will their politically aligned corporate friends. As long as these big corporations have a good crony capitalist in the White House, they can rely on DC to bail them out until the whole system goes bankrupt, which, I am afraid, is not very far off. When big government, big business, and big union bosses collude together, they get government to maximize their own interests against those of the rest of the country.

  1. So true. Union bosses are only interested in their own power and keeping that union fees flowing in their coffer. Union used to be vital in the tradition of a working men but we got now are bunch of corrupt leaders consumed with greed and thuggery.

  2. jimmy could have metaphorically declared war on the tea party and gop but the problem would be those who take him literally.

  3. The best, biggest gift the TEA Party can give to the union thugs (and by extension this WH) is to fall for this violence-baiting. They want violence to erupt. Actually, no, they don’t just want it, they NEED it.

They are just as crazy, self-serving, and destructive as they sound, and the proper response to crazy, self-serving destruction is either polite silence or ridicule. We’ve tried polite silence for decades. Look where it got us. Let’s try something new this time and laugh at them just as loudly as they deserve. From the WH to Hoffa down to your local union thug, they’re just clowns. Clowns desperately clinging to their trite routines and cliched speeches from forty years ago. Laugh at them.

  4. Sarah nails it.
    Run Sarah Run!

  5. She’s a great American and her logic and rhetoric and hard hitting. Sarah Palin gets from point A to point B more gracefully and convincingly than just about anyone else on the scene today.

But Facebook is no match for the Media Mafia. She gets her message to the faithful. Obama and the Democrats get theirs directly to the American people. It is poured into America’s ear like hemlock as they sit half asleep and hypnotized by the blue flickering light.

That is why to this day most Americans believe it is the GOP Congress that has stopped Obama from fixing the economy, and not the other way around. An alarming percentage believe the real problem here is Obama’s ‘weakness’ in pushing ‘reforms’ through a Tea Party Congress.

Obama has used the Media Mafia to position himself as too nice a guy who needs to get tough.

This is a very dangerous situation because it just begs him to redouble his rule by fiat. In the current public opinion climate plenty of Americans would welcome Obama using even more fascistic tactics.

  6. O must love Hoffa’s message. Don’t forget, O was a community organizer. Thuggery is his forte.

  7. Good job Sarah. I have nothing against unions, but I do have a problem with their leaders.
This president and his union thugs need to be voted out of office. The presidents retoric about
keeping a civil tone in our discussion is all garbage. There are more of us, than there are union
members, and we don’t need to resort to violence to change the direction of our country. I
personally think this president has hurt the black community. He had all the power to change
their lives, by improving their schools, pushing parents to keep their children to stay in school. Talking to the young girls to stop having babies in their teens. He has failed as a leader among his own, so it will be generations before the general public trust a blackman
again to the top office. He had many whites in his camp, and a majority of the young people.
When I think of what he could have accomplished I could cry. Instead he taught the same
lesson to keep taking as much as you can get, break laws, and outright steal from the
taxpayers. We could sure use God’s help in the next year to return to our real system of
    goverence.

  8. Sarah needs PROTECTION more so now! You do not talk against a union member, rep/shop steward or especially high up as the president of any union. The thugs of the union will do their bidding! They are heartless people. The decent union co-workers are quiet and when the mean ones notice they HARASS them to no end! They will take it to your home, etc!

Unions needs to go! Maybe some form of employees can plan events to meet with supervisors and owners to talk their concerns. Unions DO NOT talk they DEMAND!

  9. When the market opens in 45 minutes Obama’s going to need all the distractions he can get.

  10. Do you hear this woman, union brothers and sisters?

“…look at what’s happening to the working class in our industrialized cities. These cities are going to hell in a hand basket thanks to corruption, crony capitalism, and the union bosses’ greed (Detroit? Hello!). The union bosses derive their power from your union dues and their promise to deliver your votes to whichever politician they’re in bed with. They get their power from you, and yet their actions ultimately hurt you. They’re chasing American industry offshore by making outrageous, economically illogical demands that they know will never work. And now that they’ve chased jobs out of union states, they’re trying to chase them out of right-to-work states like South Carolina, so eventually the jobs will leave America altogether.”

Think about it, union brothers and sisters…why fear “right-to-work-exploitation” when there is no work?

  11. Thank you unions. Thank you for all the tens of thousands of jobs you created in robotics.
Because of your demands over the past decades, the price of many made in America products are still affordable. Who could but a lawn tractor made in the USA with all human union labor wages and benefits being paid?
I bought one made in Indiana in 1993 for $999. 12 HP 42″ cut no bells & whistles.
I bought a new one made in the same plant in 2011 for $1150. 18HP 42″ cut automatic transmission and will accept plows snowblowers etc.

Without automated and robotic welders and painters and intricate parts made by machines, that tractor today would be about $3000.

    Thank you unions.

The automotive industry was the leader in the field. Without union labor costs and demands, the average auto would be $60,000 not $30,000.
Those high tech hardware and software jobs you created around the world to build robots to do much of what you USED to do. The robots do it better and cheaper and longer without a break.
No health care or retirement to pay. No worry about a robot striking.

Thank you unions for getting our mail to us for 200 years until 40 years ago when the USPS forced collective bargaining.

Was a nice run huh? 200 years only took you 40 to destroy.

I guess we will have another union bailout soon, just I time for the election.

That should create jobs as well as food stamps and unemployment checks.

  12. The woman who is NOT running as a GOP candidate is the first out of the gate, denouncing the violent rhetoric from the Left. Where are the rest of the denunciations from those who are actually running?

  13. Be assured that Romeny and the rest of the RINO will not start a speech with claiming membership in a union,,,,and then taking the high ground to chastise Hoffa/Obama

  14. DanO#11

I watched a u-tube video last year where there was some union people at a Tea Party rally. When asked if they feared retaliation from their union members they said they would deal with it! I think there is more people in the union that can see the writing on the wall then there is the union thugs. They get loud and pushy for a reason.

    You are so right!

  15. Sarah. What a beautiful woman. Inside. Of course, it’s reflected in her countenance.

  16. once again gov. palin gives an excellent response to the bully hoffa’s comments.

  17. again the right shows they have zero balls to take a stance against ozero and his union thugs….way to go sarah..time for the repubs to boycott odumbo’s “jobs” speech

  18. When Grethen on Fox this morning ask Perry about Hoffa he passed the buck! Used the excuse to take care of Texas! What a coward! He had his chance to send a strong message that hateful words and threats would not be tolerated…but no he copped out!!!

    More of the same people!

  19. Well done, Sarah Palin. Very well said.
