Flashback: Obama Blames US Guns For Mexican Violence… Then Runs at Least 2,000 Guns to Mexico (Video)

In April 2009 Barack Obama traveled to Mexico and blamed US gun sellers for “This war being waged with guns purchased not here but in the United States.” Just to be sure, a few months later the Obama Administration started running their own guns to Mexico, at least 2,000.

Barack Obama, April 16, 2009:

“This war is being waged with guns purchased not here but in the United States… more than 90 percent of the guns recovered in Mexico come from the United States, many from gun shops that lay in our shared border. So we have responsibilities as well.”

Also today… Mexican Attorney General told reporters that Obama is more involved with Operation Fast and Furious than he is admitting.
The Cypress Times reported:

President Barack Obama appears to be getting it from all sides regarding a government snafu dubbed Operation Fast and Furious. Besides both houses of the U.S. Congress and a number of public-interest groups investigating what is being characterized as a rogue federal law enforcement operation, Mexico’s attorney general is infuriated over the allegations that the U.S. was behind the smuggling of weapons into Mexico that ended up killing her countrymen.

In a statement released by Mexican Attorney General Marisela Morales, she called Operation Fast and Furious “an attack on Mexicans’ security.”

Morales told Mexican reporters that she is demanding a full and honest explanation from the United States government especially since evidence is being gathered that reveals the Obama administration was more involved in Operation Fast and Furious than top officials admitted in their sworn statements.

If what is being reported is true, U.S. Attorney General and other government officials may have committed perjury and/or obstruction of justice if it’s proven they lied when testifying before House and Senate committees.

Operation Fast and Furious was a botched Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives covert operation initiated in order to track more than 2,000 smuggled guns to Mexican drug cartels by allowing gang members to purchase them illegally from U.S. gun stores then take them back to their leaders.

However, according to Congressional reports by both Rep. Darryl Issa (R-CA) and Senator Charles Grassley (R-NE), the federal agency lost track of many of the guns. Some later were traced to murders of police and civilians in Mexico and the killing of a U.S. Border Patrol Agent, Brian Terry.

Chicago gangsta government. Did anyone expect anything else?

This was no coincidence, the speech followed by the illegal gun smuggling to Mexican criminals, it was a plan to use Fast and Furious as a wedge to further erode the 2nd Amendment if not outright eliminate it. Barry and his Merry Band of Marxists along with other prominent Dems, elected or otherwise, in the last few days have fully revealed their utter contempt and hatred for the Constitution.

Another scheme to get right to Obama’s definition of Utopia where the DNC is the absolute rulers.

I personally prefer charges of high treason against the US constitution and demand discovery and execution of those involved. Very fitting considering that these weapons have been found to be involved in the deaths of american citizens.

I want to see oBama and Holder cuffed and perp walked across the Mall in orange jumpsuits fast and furiously.

Fast and Furious allowed dangerous firearms to fall into the hands of the criminals, who belong to the Mexican drug cartels, resulting in the deaths of innocent people on both sides of the border.

The Obama Administration’s failure to cooperate during Congressional investigation of this scandal is disturbing. Both President Obama and Attorney General Eric Holder have shown themselves to be contemptuous of the workings of Congress and the laws of our country. Moreover, it is becoming increasingly evident that their actions intentionally sacrificed the lives of innocent people.

For his part, US Rep Darrell Issa (R-CA) has gone on record saying:
“We know that this administration at the highest levels approved an operation that allowed thousands of high powered weapons, basically AK47s and M-16 lookalikes, to go to the worst of the worst on both sides of the border.”

We need more leaders like Issa in Congress and Pennsylvania Ave. Let’s make that happen in 2012!

An Idependent Prosecuter is desperatly needed in the midst of of a disgraceful cover-up. What did Obama know and when did he know it are the questions we need answering. I suspect he ordered it but if he did surely has arranged deniability but cover-up’s are haeder to hide.
Holder is a joke, a bad joke that is hurting the country as much as Obama is. He needs to go at once!

  • Marybel

Makes Iran-Contra look like tiddly winks, huh?

Obama knew when he said it that the 90 percent figure was totally erroneous, so he and Holder decided to make it true.

Fast and Furious was Obama creating a rationale to challenge our 2nd Amendment rights, pure and simple.

  • Texas_Treeroach

Let’s first start by impeaching Eric Holder. We can move on from there.

Operation Fast and Furious: Reckless Decisions, Tragic Outcomes”

[WASHINGTON, D.C. – Moments ago in his opening statement at today’s hearing, Operation Fast and Furious: Reckless Decisions, Tragic Outcomes, Oversight and Government Reform Committee Chairman Darrell Issa (R-CA) released three e-mails detailing the intimate involvement of ATF Acting Director Kenneth Melson and Acting Deputy Director Bill Hoover in Operation Fast and Furious:

    • The first e-mail from March 10, 2010, to Operation Fast and Furious Group VII Leader David Voth indicates that the two most senior leaders in ATF, Acting Director Kenneth Melson, and Deputy Director Billy Hoover, were “being briefed weekly on” Operation Fast and Furious. The document shows that both Melson and Hoover were “keenly interested in case updates.”

    • A second e-mail from March 12, 2010, shows that Deputy Assistant Director for Field Operations William McMahon was so excited about Fast and Furious that he received a special briefing on the program in Phoenix – scheduled for a mere 45 minutes after his plane landed.

    • A third – and perhaps the most disturbing – e-mail from April 12, 2010,
indicates that Acting Director Melson was very much in the weeds with
Operation Fast and Furious. After a detailed briefing of the program by the ATF Phoenix Field Division, Acting Director Melson had a plethora of follow-up questions that required additional research to answer. As the document indicates, Mr. Melson was interested in the IP Address for hidden cameras located inside cooperating gun shops. With this information, Acting Director Melson was able to sit at his desk in Washington and – himself – watch a live feed of the straw buyers entering the gun stores to purchase dozens of AK-47 variants.
