Obama tripled the deficit his first year in office. The deficit has been more than a trillion dollars every year since.

The Obama deficit this year is expected to reach $1.29 trillion. (The Captain’s Comments)

So the last person on earth who should be lecturing America on “living within our means” is Barack Obama. But since when has that stopped him?

Fact Sheet: Living Within Our Means and Investing in the Future – The President’s Plan for Economic Growth and Deficit Reduction

Overview
The health of our economy depends on what we do right now to create the conditions where businesses can hire and middle-class families can feel a basic measure of economic security. In the long run, our prosperity also depends on our ability to pay down the massive debt the federal government has accumulated over the past decade. Today, the President sent to the Joint Committee his plan to jumpstart economic growth and job creation now – and to lay the foundation for it continue for years to come.

The President’s Plan for Economic Growth and Deficit Reduction lives up to a simple idea: as a Nation, we can live within our means while still making the investments we need to prosper – from a jobs bill that is needed right now to long-term investments in education, innovation, and infrastructure. It follows a balanced approach: asking everyone to do their part, so no one has to bear all the burden. And it says that everyone – including millionaires and billionaires – has to pay their fair share. Overall, it pays for the President’s jobs bill and produces net savings of more than $3 trillion over the next decade, on top of the roughly $1 trillion in spending cuts that the President already signed into law in the Budget Control Act – for a total savings of more than $4 trillion over the next decade. This would bring the country to a place, by 2017, where current spending is no longer adding to our debt, debt is falling as a share of the economy, and deficits are at a sustainable level.

When he gets his wife to cut a couple million dollars off of her yearly vacation tab maybe we’ll listen. But, until then, he can save the lectures.

  1. Whenever I hear this moron talk about living within our means, HYPOCRITE is what comes to mind. How about $10 million in vacations for the wife? Obama is BEYOND disgusting.
Spend, spend, spend is all he knows. He is repulsive. Now I read on Drudge the Libs are gonna primary him. Oh boy – git er done and let the show begin. Rick Perry 2012.

  2. what a stupid POS….

  3. The way to stop this tax the rich BS is to actually pass a law to requiree a 15% annual tax on the value of all trust funds. You watch the elite scream then.

  4. Even more disgusting are people who still believe anything the lying PoS says.

  5. After the examples that obama and the Wookie have given us, all I want to hear from his pie-hole is “I resign in disgrace.”

  6. Y’know, I was flipping channels today and came across his televised speech for today. (Does he go on TV every day? Sure seems like it to me.) I never watch/listen to him anyway because the sight of him p!sses me off. But even if I was able to stomach him sometimes, this time wouldn’t have been one of them because he was lecturing or scolding his listeners. To hell with that noise. In my 47 years, I’ve not been scolded or lectured by an American president yet and that Kenyan jacka$$ sure isn’t going to be the one to break that record.

  7. Government ‘invests’ in nothing. It spends money the public would have otherwise used for themselves.

Some of this spending is necessary and some of it is required by the Constitution. The rest is a diversion of funds to buy votes. End it now. November 6, 2012 – End Dependence Day.

  8. He needs higher taxes to pay for Michelle’s fly-away parties. He’s desperate to get her out of the house.

  9. “Living Within Our Means”

Is he talking about the government or about the citizens?

The citizens nowaday live below their means. But the government live way high beyond their means.

Abolish the Federal Reserve and you will be fine. You don’t owe them a penny. The Fractional Reserve Banking system, is a Ponzi scheme, a fraud and a scam. They create money out of thin air, they land it back to you with interests.

  10. AKA that old adage: “Do as I say, not as I do.”

  11. Is he serious? He spends more on vacations than I have ever earned in my whole life!

    Is he &#%@ kidding????

After he’s spent close to $ 5 Trillion? More than anyone has spent in the history of mankind???

@%#$! ass@$%#! He can take &%@$# and shove it up his own &$$!

  12. He’s a mutherfvcking Communist you blithering idiots. He is a lying fuktard. Don’t expect the truth out of him, you aren’t going to get it.

Only a fuking idiot would believe a word this douche bag says.

  13. Obama must go. . .

He is incompetent, Inept, Inexperienced and probably in-eligible

    He is radical too!!

Even his own hometown newspaper thinks it is time he call it quit!

  14. I feel like this is a Fellini movie and obama’s Uncle Leo pissing from the top of a tree. It’s unreal.

  15. OK – Let’s ask grifters Comrade Barry and the Moocher to return the $10 million of our money she pi$$ed away. Let maybe we can start the discussion on “living withing our means”. Next, we’ll get him to return the billions he took from us to throw away on his f***buddies, parties, golf games, dope, booze, etc.

  16. Never has had an honest job. Who is he to be lecturing us?!?
    .

  17. What did anyone EXPECT. He’s a COMMUNIST.

  18. The hypocrisy of Barack Hussein Obama knows NO bounds…

  19. ++

yes, it is connected, you just may not see it yet..

“A Disavowal of the pursuit of Middleclassness’, the heading read. While it is permissible to chase ‘middleincomeness’ with all our might, the text stated, those blessed with the talent or good fortune to achieve success in the American mainstream must avoid the psychological entrapment of Black ‘middleclassness’ that hypnotizes the successful brother or sister into believing they are better than the rest and teaches them to think in terms of ‘we’ and ‘they’ instead of ‘US’!”

  21. He’s more than a bad president. He’s a cause for national shame and embarrassment. Americans need to take a hard look at their media, their educational system, and their liberal values (chief among them, forced diversity). Obama represents a damning indictment of American society as it exists today.

Remember the names of all the asskissers who misportrayed this fraud using a steady flow of superlatives and hyperbole. Last I heard, messiahs don’t run their people into the ground while stealing their children’s money.

And while he and his wife live luxuriously and ostentatiously to boot. Messiah, my ass. We elected a grifter.

  22. Get OC RDick a feinting couch, stat!

  23. F*ck yourself, you POS!!!!

  24. if politicans would live within their means we wouldn’t be in debt up our eyeballs. he needs to look in the mirror when he says that.

the biggest spender in our history is lecturing people about living within their means. he arrogance knows no bounds.

  25. I’m startin’ to get all wee-weeed up.

  26. Live within his means?
He and Moochie bought their house at $300,000.00 below market value thanks to Tony Rezko (sitting quietly in jail now).

Then, Barry and Moochie lived off a line of credit based on their new “equity”.

Remember Bush’s $600.00 tax refund? Moochie said that wouldn’t buy much, maybe a pair of earrings.

What do these deadbeats know about living within one’s means???

Shove a cheeseburger in it, Losers!

  27. This coming from from a man whom has spent America to the state of almost collapse in the last 2 years, out spending all the presidents combined another record odummer.

  28. The guy who added five trillion in new debt in less than three years talks about living within our means…He is President downgrade…What a joke…Nearly one-hundred years of perfect credit lost by this fool…Keep talking Barak.

  29. Once again, it is the corrupt, liberal media that enables this sham president to use lies and hypocrisy as his number one strategy.

    May they pay dearly.

  30. Congress appropriates funds. The President does not.

The first budget that Obama inherited was well over $1T, and that is the same budget a President McCain would have inherited.

  31. The first step in my austerity program will be to deny Obama all benefits once he leaves office.

  32. Something I told my wife a number of years ago was, “Regardless of how much businesses won’t want to do this, they are just going to have to do it, and that is, they are going to have to lower the price of things, make less, order as much as they can maybe less, and learn to live on less themselves. And they are going to have to do this if they have any hope of surviving this deep down turn in our economy. Remember when things were really cheap? Of course I’m talking to people who are in their late forties and fifties, because they were alive when life was cheaper all around for everything. Let me give you some examples because I have made it my business to remember so that I could make comparisons in the future.

In 1977 my wife bought a new Buick, a two door Buick Century with a V-6, air, power steering, power brakes. Nice car, got about 18 miles in town and 21 on the highway. Not bad for 1977 when gas was about 90 something to a dollar something a gallon, and it would go up and down some and when it went down it would be about 78 cents a gallon. Did you know that it was against the law to lower the price of your gasoline, even though you agreed to make less in profit and just get by at your gas station business, but you were doing a lot more in volume? In Louisiana it’s against the state law to lower your price. Something is wrong with that. It is keeping American’s from being able to earn less, but be able to afford basically the same kind of lifestyle you had before. What that means is if you lost your job making $50 thousand a year and the only job you could find was one making $20, could you still afford to live like you were? Of course not. But if businesses agreed that the only way they were going to stay in business was to drop their prices like you’ve never seen, then you could live much more comfortably than you thought you would be able to making as little money as you are.

This is what is going to have to happen in America if we are going to survive any kind of serious double dip inflation, and we hear about 46 million American’s are on Food Stamps now?? What the hell is that? But before our businesses lowered their prices so that American’s could survive, we would have to get all the illegal Mexican aliens out of the country and make damn sure none got back in. We would have to stut down our immigration of people from foreign countries like we are doing now. I’m talking about American’s surviving, not anyone else. These people from these other countries would just have to tough it out where they lived.

But the kinds of lowering of prices I’m talking about would have to be everyone who does business just like it is now. The grocer, the truck driver, the semi sales company would have to sell those big rigs for much less than he has been, and the big rig manufacturing company would have to start charging much, much less than they have before. I’m talking bring prices down to 1980 levels, or earlier, maybe like when my wife bought that new Buick. She paid $3700 for it. I’d be talking about new cars costing maybe $5.000 or so, down from $20 thousand. Everybody taking less for what they are taking now.

What would have to happen is take the average pay everyone is making now, and work out the amounts that everything would have to cost. It would be easy because those prices have a history, you can find out how much things cost compared to how much people were making back then. Of course prices are always ahead of pay, and that would be taken into account. But it could be done. People would freak out at first because they would be thinking about charging less, making less, but prices staying the same as they are now. No, that wouldn’t be happening. It’s just you know how people are, they always jump to conclusions about what they think might happen, not what really happens. But, once they found out that as their profits went down, so would their costs on stuff they normally buy for their business each day to either goes into making their product or to run the business. As the economic prices on everything went down, the economy would start to improve right away because it would be like you were still making the big money you used to make and were living well, but you would be making much, much less. But since everything was in ratio with what you were making and prices were comparatively low in ratio with your pay, it would seem like nothing had happened.

You wouldn’t loose your house because new banking laws would have to be made. Banks would really be the ones who’d complain the most because only the US would be the ones who had done this to their economy, and that would have to be dealt with later on. But if you are upside down in your home, you would have your house reappraised, and whatever it appraised for, you would go to your bank and they would have to renegotiate your house note for the lower appraised amount, and you would also get the lower interest rate which is like what now, about three or four percent? That’s what you’d pay for your house. Think it would work?

  33. There are way to many people in this country making way, way to much money for what they are doing. It’s like the government workers who are all making over a hundred thousand a year for doing little to nothing. Those people would have to get used to making a hell of a lot less than they thought they ever would. But since everything in the country was for much, much less than it was, everyone who was making far less than they were would be able to live very well, and easily afford everything. The power companies would have to charge less for power, but so would the mining or gas production company to. They aren’t having to pay for what they are getting out of the land, it’s free. It’s the cost of the equipment and pipe and such, that’s what cost so much. Well, that price would have to go down to, so everybody is making less, but having to spend much, much less for things also, so they don’t even notice the difference until the sit down and take pen to paper and see how much they make to how much their costs and expences are. That is the only reason why things cost so much is because somebody somewhere decided to raise their price on something. Then the next person in line decided they weren’t going to let that guy charge more, and they weren’t letting themselves make more, so they start charging more. Then the damn snowball begins rolling, doesn’t it. And it gets bigger and bigger until eventually all these prices are getting so high we can hardly afford any of it, and as a matter of fact there is much we can’t afford anymore.

Well, those businesses kept raising their price until they put themselves right out of business, didn’t they? But, they don’t tell the truth about it, and they may not even know what they did in the beginning themselves. You know once you find yourself in that snowball you can’t see what is going on outside, it all looks the same. But once everyone had to stop and look at what they’ve done to the country and especially the consumer, then I think a lot of eye opening would take place. Like the big question would be, just exactly how little would you take to live off of if prices were much, much lower where you could more easier afford things that you needed. I doubt seriously if anyone would suggest they’d have to make a million dollars a year. No, they would probably say they could live on $20 thousand a year.

  34. OK WillofLa, we’ll let you determine what everyone else should earn. You sound rational./sarc

  35. Akin to Michael Moore dispensing diet/physical-fitness advice.

What Ozymandias-on-the-Potomac is trying to say is that he wants the Federal Government to live within OUR means (our means of production, saving, investment, etc., until we are at long last reduced to dependent slave-serf drones working 24x7x365 for the State, living on whatever crumbs from the table our Exalted Overlord and his sycophant cronies deem is fitting for us).

Welcome to the O Zone (like the Twilight Zone but with far less connection to reality).

  36. ++

don’t cheer too loud or long.. this may very well be their way of letting US
know the cesspool they built is about to burst, and Obama has succeeded
in crapping all over our future..
