MO Conservative Todd Akin Refuses to Apologize For Saying, ‘At the Heart of Liberalism…Is a Hatred For God’ (Video)

Missouri conservative Rep. Todd Akin told reporters he does not plan on apologizing for attacking godless liberals.

If you thought the controversy surrounding NBC’s editing of the Pledge of Allegiance was over, think again.

While the network officially apologized for cutting out the words “under God” from a recitation it aired during the U.S. Open, a new debate is raging. Earlier this month, in a radio interview, Missouri congressman and GOP Senate candidate Todd Akin said the following:

Well, I think NBC has a long record of being very liberal and at the heart of liberalism really is a hatred for God and a belief that government should replace God. And so they’ve had a long history of not being at all favorable toward many of things that have been such a blessing to our country.These powerful works have liberals enraged.

Liberals have since demanded an apology, with ThinkProgress (TP) publishing its own rebuttal to the politician’s statements. According to TP, Akin does not plan on backtracking on his statements:

Akin’s communications director, Steve Taylor, told the [St. Louis Post-Dispatch] that Akin was commenting on a difference between the two ideas: while conservatives believe rights come from God, liberals think they come from the government. Taylor said Akin was not referring to any individual’s beliefs, only the “defining principles of two political ideologies.”

Akin is quite correct. I applaud his decision not to apologize to the Soros organization. It’s about time we started to say what we mean and mean what we say in American politics, and cut the bull once and for all. We Christians have an image problem, fueled in large part by caving in to every liberal demand. We need to get out in front, set the tone and start putting Dims on the defensive.

I am an evangelical Christian who knows one thing . . . if you support abortion on demand, you don’t put God first in all things. The unfettered support of abortion that comes from Obama makes me seriously doubt he loves and serves God. For me it is a litmus test. He came, he very clearly articulated his position, he patiently answered everybody’s questions and then he was subjected to countless “Gotcha” questions, “trick” questions, deliberate framing him, they LIED against him and then whipped up riots to cow the authorities to abandon law and crucify him.

It’s not that liberals don’t like God, its that they don’t like the principles for morality and don’t want to except Godly behavior that is at the core of Christianity. They often try to keep God, but without having to conduct themselves according to biblical principles. For example, they want to be able to have sex without rules and without guilt. Remember Obama’s tax record of charitable giving – it was almost non-existent in the returns released during his candidacy. Obama certainly hasn’t been tithing to any church. People have an internal desire and knowledge of God. The liberals like to keep God, but don’t want the responsibility of serving God and obeying God’s laws.

Liberal churches have a way of dismissing clearly stated biblical principles for morality such as for adultery. If you are a Christian and haven’t read Leviticus 18 defining adultery, perhaps you should. Adultery is not just about not cheating on your spouse – its about homosexuality, incest, bestiality, and other sexual conduct that ultimately brings harm to the people who engage in it and societies that ignore it. Liberal Christian churches manipulate interpretations of God’s word so that their members can ignore God’s word not to mention the terrible, terrible consequences immoral living is bringing to the people who engage in it, and to our society. Christian living is extremely beneficial to societies that advocate it and practice it.

He owes no apology. He is speaking the truth. How many times did Obama leave our creator out of the Declaration of Independence? NBC left out God in the Pledge of Allegiance. They want all signs of God taken out of everything. Now they want to feign outrage for what is apparent to believers in God? They pray to a false God, Obama. They follow the Communist Manifesto, not the United States Constitution. Now they are mad because it’s exposed?

Thanks BG, but i’m not big into pacifism either. There is evil in the world and it needs to be fought by even god fearing men. The revolutionary war is an exellent example. Christian men fighting to free themselves from tyanny, but not fighting to drive their christianity into non believers. The efforts were successful and god blessed this land for its faith.

The blessings bestowed upon America by god over two hundred years ago has been thrown back in His face over the last several decades. We have mocked his Him and tried to remove Him from His rightful place. He has begun to remove His blessing, and the culpret has been those who try to deny Him His place and then deny what they are doing to HIs followers thereby convincing them that they are doing what is right.

Democrats (or whatever synonym you’d prefer) have convinced too many people that they are caring and concerned about people and convince them that they have answer meanwhile taking away their God given rights and humiliating anyone who stands up to them. All of this culminating into a truly Godless president which is the loudest message from God calling on us to return to Him.

We have begun to notice the signs of the fading blessings and we have started to rise up against a whole new form of tyranny, we are fighting back the accusations and are imploring our elected officials to follow the set of laws given to us by our founding fathers based on the rights given to us by God. We are working toward putting what has been made wrong right again. We still have a few more avenues available to us before we might have to physically refight the Revolutionary war. If we have to fight it, the people will have lost enough of their rights by then to be totally engaged in the battle. At that time, if enough people have returned to the Father the battle will be won before it even starts.
