Toby Harnden reported on the praise for the man-child following the “gutsy call” to kill Osama Bin Laden, via HotAir:
In an attempt to make the Jr. Chipmunk sitting in the small chair in the so-called “iconic” photo seem more than he is, we have our word of the day as spread by the usual suspects…
…one who wanted to ensure her bit of praise was the best was former Ambassador to Pakistan and Middle East Institute president Wendy Chamberlain:
But he made that decision to go without telling Pakistan and that took some real courage, as much courage as our Navy SEALs did in pulling off a near flawless operation.
Yessiree Bob – not telling Pakistan was just as gutsy as flying into a foreign land, at night, nap of the earth, hoping no one sees your helicopter and blows it out of the sky. Then fast roping into a compound of hostiles, number unknown, engaging in a firefight and clearing it. Then exfiltrating. Yup, not telling Pakistan is just like that.

The White House says Obama didn’t tell Pakistan, but that’s probably just hype to make Obama seem “gutsy.” Launching a commando raid into a city populated with retired Pakistani generals might have resulted in the Pakistanis thinking they were under attack from India. That could have led to nuclear war. It’s not likely that Obama would have risked that.
What probably happened is that the U.S. presented Pakistan with evidence that we knew the ISI was protecting bin Laden, and the Pakistanis finally agreed to let us take him out.
Lt. Gen. Pasha met with CIA Director Panetta on April 11 and Gen. David Petraeus, who is set to take over the CIA, met with Gen. Kayani on April 25. Abbottabad residents are saying the Pakistani military secured and cordoned off the site on the night of the raid, visiting the homes of civilians and asking them to turn their lights off. “Pakistani military officials said it was impossible for U.S. helicopters to fly to the compound without the knowledge of the Pakistani military,” the report states.

How much longer before we are told that the real truth of the mission is that Obama, himself, flew a UH-60 to the compound in Abattabad, landed, scaled the wall of the compound, engaged in a firefight with dozens of terrorists, killed them and made his way to the third floor where he engaged in hand to hand combat with ObL only to kill him and then lift ObL’s body to the waiting bird where Obama flew him to the ship for burial?
Or maybe Obama didn’t have to fly ObL to the ship. He simply walked across the water, carrying ObL all the way.

Their relief is NOT that we caught a terrorist. Their relief is that Obama is saved so he can save their policies. He redeemed them.
He knew since August. I now believe that was a fake BC. What can Trump say? OK City. He walks on water. I bet he wanted to delay the raid. He turned his back and said no about the CIA investigation. What a low life.
Those elected Republicans had better find a better response than what I am hearing. Somebody get rid of that old fool McCain for starters. Is there not a fighter with a mouth up there somewhere?

Everyone who talks about what a “courageous” decision this was should be reminded of something the inestimable Bill Whittle wrote once. You want courageous leadership by a President? The REAL deal, when, unlike with bin Laden, virtually everyone in Washington advised a President to take the easier path….and he then made the decision NOT to do just that….?

I think the Surge has had spectacular success not because of the additional troops so much as for the fact that when the media and the Democrats demanded we cut and run, we did not cut and run. We doubled down. That’s what I keep thinking. Since last Sunday night the enemedia has been making Barky out to be a hero for simply making the right decision. And, ironically, I’m reminded of these words by lefturd Chris Rock, from one of his stand up routines.

Way I heard it Panetta made the call and Obama was not even notified until after the raid was set in motion. So not only did Pakistan not know, OBAMA did not know. He was golfing and Leon Panetta sent Marine One to go get him after only 9 holes. The reporters thought he was quitting his round due to gloomy weather but he was being dragged back to the white house so Panetta could tell him what was going on.
