… the suspect, a white male, is still at large and was last seen near White Columns Drive, a residential area northwest of campus across Interstate 44.

The suspect was last seen wearing a blue-and-white t-shirt and may be bleeding from one hand.

UPDATE: The shooter tried to enter Fort Leonard Wood.

Local FOX 2 reported:

The search for a gunman who opened fire on law enforcement officers and brought a gun onto a Missouri campus continues. His name is Cody Wilcoxson and police say the incident began around 8:30 a.m. Thursday when the suspect tried to get onto the Fort Leonard Wood Army Post.

Officials at Ft. Leonard Wood say Wilcoxson wanted to access the base but had what appeared to be a fake ID. When he was asked to turn his car around and leave, he drove through the gate and was chased off the base.

Wilcoxson, according to police, fired at St. Roberts and Pulaski County officers while driving east on Interstate 44 towards Rolla.

The Rolla police chief said Wilcoxson fired shots as him several times during a pursuit. Officers put down stop sticks, flattening the suspects car. He crashed on the Missouri S & T Campus and ran through the McNutt building.

At this time there are no reports of anyone being injured. Campus officials say there were no shots fired on campus.

Police say when he left campus he broke into a home and stole a 2003 gray colored Ford Taurus with Missouri tags “ROLLA B”.

Update: The suspect was captured. He was shot during the ordeal.
