Osama Bin Laden Was Killed in Abbottabad – Home of Pakistan Military Academy …Update: His Home Was Across Street From Police Station & Government College

Osama bin Laden was killed in Abbottabod, Pakistan. It is only about 40 mi from Rawalpindi, military headquarters in Pakistan.
The town is home to a Pakistani military academy.
Abbottabad is a city located in the Hazara region of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province, formerly NWFP, of Pakistan. The city is situated in the Orash Valley, 150 km north of Islamabad and 200 km east of Peshawar.
The Pakistan Military Academy (also known as PMA or Kakul) is a four-year coeducational federal service military academy. It is located at Kakul near Abbottabad in Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa, Pakistan.
UPDATE: Osama’s compound was across the street from a police station and a Pakistani government graduate college.
Osama bin Laden’s compound was 8 times as big as any structure in the area. It stuck out like a sore thumb.

That location is not consistent with what I have been hearing. I have been hearing that the compound was in a very defensible location on a dirt road. Also, the video that I am seeing is not consistent with the building in that picture.
That particular location was posted very early on, I would take it with a grain of salt until more information comes out.

found it on google earth if you are interested. Interesting that the 2001 photo there is nothing and the 2005 photo there is structure but under construction. Only available shots are 2001 and 2005 for this local. Some of the surrounding areas have shots as recent as 2011.

It is NOT on a dead-end road; it does NOT have 12-18 foot walls; it is NOT in an isolated are which just a few years ago was only reachable by a dirt road; it is NOT a 3-story building; and it is NOT in the Bilal area. CNN early on pointed on a Google Earth image saying the compound was in the general developed area surrounded by a heavy concentration of homes. If you go to Google Maps and do a search for “Osama Bin Laden’s Hideout Compound, Abbottābad, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Pakistan” you will get at least 3 results. The “A” result is the one in Balil and is a triangular parcel of land in a relatively sparsely developed area outside of the city’s main CBD. The “C” result is the one you your site is erroneously reporting. A site that details it’s location which includes a detailed sketch of the place (which also matches the pictures being shown of the stocky 3-story building rising above a tall wall) is shown here.
