Jerusalem- The Wailing Wall
June 7, 1967

Sometime around 10:15 on the morning of June 7, 1967…
The first reservist paratroopers of Brigade 55 broke through the Lion’s Gate leading into the Old City of Jerusalem and reached the narrow enclave of the Western Wall. Having just fought a fierce two-day battle in the streets of east Jerusalem, they grieved for lost friends, and grieved as well for their own lost innocence in what for many was their first experience of combat. They leaned against the Wall, some in exhaustion, some in prayer. Several wept, instinctively connecting to the Wall’s tradition of mourning the destruction of the Temple and the loss of Jewish sovereignty—precisely at the moment when Jewish sovereignty over Jerusalem had been restored.

Several hours later, Yitzhak Yifat, a twenty-four-year-old reservist about to begin medical school, reached the Wall. As part of the brigade’s 66th Battalion, he and his friends had fought in the Six Day War’s toughest battle: Intimate combat against elite Jordanian Legionnaires in the trenches of Ammunition Hill, on the road to Mount Scopus.

Barack Obama, the most anti-Isreal president in US history, told Israel today to divide Jerusalem. He told Israel to move back to the 1967 border.

Here’s the full text of Barack Obama’s devastating speech.

So while the core issues of the conflict must be negotiated, the basis of those negotiations is clear: a viable Palestine, and a secure Israel. The United States believes that negotiations should result in two states, with permanent Palestinian borders with Israel, Jordan, and Egypt, and permanent Israeli borders with Palestine. The borders of Israel and Palestine should be based on the 1967 lines with mutually agreed swaps, so that secure and recognized borders are established for both states. The Palestinian people must have the right to govern themselves, and reach their potential, in a sovereign and contiguous state.

This must be his gift to the Hamas-Fatah Alliance.

In 2008 Obama promised that he would not divide Jerusalem.

Technically he is not calling for a retreat to the “1967 borders” He is calling fo a retreat to the 1949 truce lines. This means that he is calling for a repeat of the massacre of Gush Etzion and destruction of areas that even the Arabs had admitted belonged to Israel.

And Israel cares what he says because…….? I’ll bet they are all laughing at this pathetic weakling.

No, Richard (38). Jewish support has dropped quite a bit. It will definitely fall a lot more after this genocide-supporting proclamation: http://www.jstandard.com/content/item/poll_jewish_support_for_obama_falling/15281

Sheikh Hussein is supposed to speak at AIPAC on Sunday. I hope that if AIPAC doesn’t cancel this event in the wake of this catastrophic proclamation, that members will stage a mass walkout.

People need to take a closer look at those scars on Obama’s skull. The mark of the beast is spelled out in hebrew letters. The letters go all the way around his head. This letter vav = the number 6… http://i.dailymail.co.uk/i/pix/2011/04/06/article-1373780-0B8016FC00000578-1_233x240.jpg

Remember– every Obama promise has an expiration date of “GOOD UNTIL IT IS NO LONGER GOOD FOR ME”..

  • 3rd Option

Israelis are not the occupiers, Barry. You are occupying MY country’s White House, and you need to return to the pre-election boundaries (i.e. Chicago). Never could have I envisioned a president as utterly worthless as you. To say you suck at your job does not even come close to the truth. You are a disgrace to the office and to the country.

    @ #46 – Worse than worthless, he’s dangerous, a menace, a travesty, a master of destruction.

So, this is what the Muslim Brotherhood traded for Osama bin Laden. Or will bin Laden, miraculously risen -wink wink- become Chief Imam and Bottle Washer of Islamic Jerusalem?

This is for you, Barky. I hope Israel shows you the same.

there’s a passage in the bible where G-d says (i’m paraphrasing) Support Israel, remember Israel, and you shall prosper. Don’t do this and you shall be as chaff in the wind.

America has not always supported the Jews (thank you Franklin Roosevelt) until it was forced to (thank you Franklin Roosevelt) and then after WW2, Israel actually got the vote of Russia because of the ‘socialistic nature of it’ and its kabutz’s – small farms where everyone is equal in must contribute labor to enjoy the fruits of…anyways, it was somewhere in the cold war that Israel came to become the USA’s friend, as the oil companies in the USA were already in bed with the sand sheiks of Arabia for oil under the banner of Aramco (think MaBell).

It was in the 70s and 80s that Christians aligned themselves with Israel (not necessarily Catholics and the Church in Rome) and that made Israel locked in with the politics of America.

I feel sorry for Israel that its future is tied to the whims of our populace that can be so easily swayed by gimmicks and glitz of Obama and his Hollywood staging.

I am catholic and it was the pope that called for the first crusade to protect Jerusalem as a destination for those that wanted to visit their savior’s place of resurrection as well as those that had started to live there because they had no money to get back home.

Since then, we’ve always tried to protect that small plot of land for more than the land but for the 2 religions that are laced together historically.

It should be noted that most of the ‘catholic/christian’ sites of note are in the west bank and that its only because of Israeli solders visitors are able to visit. The palestinians actually used the one church as a hold up point where they shot Israeli soldiers and the Israeli’s could have blown the thing apart with tank artillery but they didn’t because of the importance they place on shared religious sites with Christians….the palestinians? they urinated in there and stayed in there for a week leaving the holy place trashed.

Imaging if we did that at the Dome of the Rock.

@ #44 – That’s not a scar. It’s the zipper opening of his human suit.

The crack about Oswald is way, way over the line. Shame. I hope you don’t consider yourself a Christian.

We just have to deal with these problems as we are able to. We’re able to in November of 2012. Just get all your friends to stop voting crypto-Communists into office.

MikeSilver: I feel pretty much as you do. Innocent people have suffered enough. Apparently, Mankind is just mad, and there’s not much we can do about it.

Can someone please delete the Oswald comment?

The issue is whether the “1967 lines” are pre-June 5, 1967, or post June 14, 1967. That makes a biiiiig difference in how one interprets his remarks.

What, I was referring to the cute little blue octopus in the kids cartoons. He always has his hands in everything! What are you talking about? Jeez!

  • RedBeard

#55: That’s only relating to the Jerusalem part of the deal. Crucial, yes, but the rest of Obama’s pontifications are quite beyond the pale, as usual.

Obama has nothing but distain for the western world, for Israel, and for his own country. He is a disgrace to his office, a Quisling, if you will, in favor of people who wish us harm.

Obama must be sent back to Chicago on January 20th, 2013, and not a moment later.

#53 BTW saying someone is not a Christian is in essence saying you are not a Christian, because no-one but the man up stairs has the power to judge! Hypocrite

Also, the 2012 election will be too little too late, and some lame duck progressive RINO is not going to reverse any of this nonsense, so pull your head out of your happy place and get a grip on reality!

What would George Washington do? I believe we all know the answer to that!

  • RedBeard

What do you think he would do?

What did he and the founding fathers do the last time they were faced with such Tyranny?
