Loud Explosion Heard Near Osama Bin Laden's Compound

A loud explosion was heard today in Abbottabad, Pakistan.
The Canada Press reported:
A loud explosion has been heard in the town where Osama bin Laden was killed in Pakistan.
There has been speculation that authorities may demolish the house in Abbottabad to try and stop the intense media attention in the town.

Whatever the reason, getting rid of that compound is the smartest thing that either Pakistan or the US could do. Get rid of any and all physical rallying points for bin lauden.

There are few English language papers in Pakistan. One of the leading ones is Dawn which reports the defense of the Pakistan authorities on the question of their knowledge.
So, there you have it: They raided the House in 2003 and found out a major Al Qaeda operative was there, an operative who — oh my — miraculously escaped their reach so a few years later when another mysterious, well-guarded stranger moved in, very near the Pakistan equivalent of West Point, they never bothered to check him out.

Like Donald Rumsfeld, I am really, really neutral on this. I can see good reason to destroy the place, as well as to preserve it (preferably, trash intact).
If they preserve it, I hope they keep track of who visits, and it would be a really nice touch to encourage terrorist tourists to visit and get their pictures taken.

Something went “boom.” But I doubt it was Pakistani officials blowing up the new shrine to bin Laden…unless, of course, the hovel is being demolished and replaced by something more befitting Islam’s equivalent of a saint.

Cleanup? Were there some grammatical errors in that comment? I suppose the first sentence should be terminated with a question mark. And the third sentence should read, “I, for one, am sick and tired of hearing about how much they hate us, that ‘Osama’s death is a rallying cry!’ – blah, blah blah.”
Other than that, I’d say the comment is perfect.

Usama bin Laden died in 2001, as Pakistan, Fox News, Egypt reported in their daily newspapers. Obama is a liar, CIA are liiars, the whole thing was stagged, idiots.
