John McCain told Chris Wallace on FOX News Sunday that “of course” Sarah Palin can defeat Barack Obama.
The Hill reported:
Sen. John McCain (R-Ariz.) has said he thinks Sarah Palin could defeat President Obama in next year’s presidential election, but he’s far from certain that she will actually jump into the race.
The GOP’s standard-bearer in 2008 also shrugged off his former running mate’s poor standing in many polls, saying she would have the opportunity to turn that around if she did make a bid for the White House.
“That’s what campaigns are all about,” McCain said on “Fox News Sunday.”
“I’ve never seen anyone as mercilessly and relentlessly attacked as I have seen Sarah Palin in the last couple of years,” the Arizona senator added. “But she also inspires great passion, particularly among the Republican faithful.”

Will somebody please tell John McCain that it’s time to go out to pasture? McCain has been a traitor to conservative principles, and he’s singularly responsible for the Marxist Communist Muslim-Sympathizing Incompentent Fraud now occupying the Oval Office.
NeoKong commented:
We always knew that.
They always knew it too.
That’s why they fear her so much.
Democrats cannot stand to see a woman who is pretty and successful on her own and who is not a victim.
It goes against everything they stand for.

Something stinks here. I love Sarah Palin as a person for sure, and I’ll staunchly defend her to anyone who uses those tired and utterly ridiculous Media Matters talking points against her; but, this right here stinks. Something is up.
I don’t like it that John Muslim-wannabe McCain with that defunct daughter of his carrying a torch. Makes me feel very uneasy.
As someone before me said….time for McCain to be put out to pasture. He has long since passed the mile marker to Usefulness; he is now dangerously close to Traitor and Treason.

McLame is trying to put the Obama curse on Sarah.
Remember McLame thinks Obama is patriotic – yeah patriotric of Mecca.
Screw you McLame.
You work for Obama and don’t you ever speak for Sarah.

Of course Senator Maverick would have to say this…
But we cannot afford a self destructive effort this 2012.
As much as Sarah is loved, we have to be serious.
We have watched so many push fashionable fan fare on Our own side since 2004, and much of it h as only enabled the opposite – the disastrous Democratic Party.
If Sarah goes out and wins the Primary, I am all for her – but like McCain, I know what the ultimate outcome will be, and we will not be happy about it.
Same warnings over the Delaware Disaster – remember when some were pushing that fiasco? Same folks were recently hyping TRUMP of all people – a BLOOMBERG liberal-moderate con artist.
The fantasy image – identity game is not conservative – nor is it empowering. Ironically, most of the nonsense is used to divide the sound conservative side, and these days everyone is unfairly labeled as a “RINO”.

I agree, but I think it’s not just the budget, although this should be issue that throws this administration’s problems in the sharpest relief. It’s the lawlessness.
This is a President that doesn’t expect his Attorney General to know what’s in state legislation before his DOJ files federal suit against it. It’s the cozying up to failed regimes that export terror, such as Iran and Hamas, at the expense of the one decent government in the middle east. It’s the failure to recognize that Georgia and Poland really did need some protection.
It’s bad policy, and bad advisors, and failure to recognize failure after it happens. It’s failure to change in light of revolting developments.

I have to wonder how many of the preceding commenters actually listened to John McCain’s answers. He makes perfect sense to me. And I think any man who got half the country’s votes in a Presidential election might have something worthwhile to say about the next election. I have disagreed with him on several key issues, but I have to respect his experience and his integrity. I appreciate having this clip posted here.
So why the hell are supposed supporters of the Republican party running down one of the longstanding, truly formidable pillars of that party, who offers an reasonable, intelligent analysis?
Oh. yeah.

What John McCain had to say ceased to matter to me when during his 2008 campaign he assured the public about Obama by saying :
“But I have to tell you, I have to tell you, he is a decent person, and a person that you do not have to be scared as President of the United States.”
People had very real concerns about Obama . John McCain swept those concerns under the rug and parked a sofa on it. He could have responded to false race-card criticisms in a positive way without giving such a broad statement that wrecked his own campaign.
Now the best he can come up with is a lukewarm response about Palin when he handed this Presidency to Obama . He aided these years of unsupported racism accusations. He has ignored the current climate of hate where any strong woman is called by every name in the book. I’m sick of people who reward false accusations while turning a blind eye to actual abusive comments against others. Saying she has been attacked is such a general statement it does nothing to dispute those statements or their content.
McCain still has my thanks for his Military Service to our country, but that cannot excuse his mistakes as a politician. Like anyone we can admire people for some of their characteristics and criticize them when they are wrong on others.
I really hope Palin doesn’t run for President yet, she’s not ready. She has a ways to go before I could support her for such a high office. She is admirable as a person to keep politics stirred up, interesting , and focusing on the very real problems that face this country. I’m just not sure she is ready to solve them. That said she’s always been more capable than Obama is even now.

What made Deleware a “Disaster” was that Rhino’s like you intentially undermined Christine O’donnell’s campaign in order to smugly tell the conservatives who backed her, “I told you so”, as you are doing now.
With RINO talking heads like Rove and Krauthammer trashing her and the RNC refusing to give but the bare minimum financially (while they poured money into Carly Fiorino and Christine Todd Whitman’s ill fated campaigns), she could not defeat both the Democrats and the Rhinos.
Good luck trying that on Sarah Palin this time around. Sarah’s support will not be coming from the RINO talking heads or the power brokers at the RNC but rather from the average citizens of the USA, and we outnumber all of you.
“and these days everyone is unfairly labeled as a “RINO”.”
If the shoe fits, wear it, RINO!

Why would anyone be “shocked” that Obama could be defeated? He has a record now and it’s a really bad one. Why would anyone vote for more of this?

all of you good conservatives onthis thread that say oh sarahs not ready ,or sarah this or sarah that. please note jims post on sarahs facebook about wasting 2 billion by giving it to the muslim brotherhood in egypt by giving it to the so called government and how ridiculous it is to borrow from china to give to middle east radicals.
i see no other potential candidate giving an opinion on this and leading the way on this subject or on the many other issues where she has lead the way, people this is what a leader does lead from the front not wait for focus groups or to take office[cain] before having a opinion out in front of the crowd.
l eadership of this quality is a rare thing a once in ageneration occurance please dont let this oopportunity for us to have a true leader with a spine go to waste.

Obama is not as capable, even with on the job training . His words are hollow and his inclinations are against our own countrymen and allies. If it’s a choice between Palin and Obama , She wins hands down.

He has finally admitted publicly that he was responsible for the failure to win presidency three years ago. It seems paradoxical to me that the weaker part of the Palin-McCain ticket now wants to support Sarah Palin.
