How did we manage all these years without those wonderful contributions by Muslim inventors?
Secretary of State Hillary Clinton bent over backwards to appease Muslims in her video remarks for the “1001 Muslim Inventions” program. The State Department program is dedicated to the wonderful inventions by Muslims that make our everyday lives so much easier.

I am delighted to send greetings to each of you at this year’s “1001Inventions,” celebrating a millennium of science and innovation in the Muslim world.
This exhibition honors the remarkable accomplishments of Muslims throughout history: from a woman who founded a university in the 9th century – to a 13th century inventor and mechanical engineer – to a surgeon whose writings influenced European medicine for hundreds of years.
And, of course, we’re seeing the impact of technology in the Muslim world right now – as young people throughout the Middle East and North Africa find new ways to use social networking to get organized and express their aspirations.

Once the Muslims exhausted the material and intellectual wealth of the non-Muslim peoples they conquered there was no advancement. Just a one way trip to cultural decline. And that is exactly what happened.
When the Muslims conquered the Byzantine Empires territory of North Africa and the Levant, Persia, and India the Muslims took what had been for centuries the most technologically advanced and creative areas and populations and turned them into ignorant backwaters which we still see today.

Muslims haven’t really added anything of major importance to humanity for about 1,000 years.
And to understand their “Golden Age”, you have to do a bit of research into how civilizations rise and fall.
Generally the great works of art, science and architecture produced by civilizations came during the times of their imperial military conquest. The excess riches resulting from the spoils of war and a vast tax base allows you to fund things like centers of learning, great monuments, artists, etc.
You also absorb the intellectuals and progress made by your defeated foes and claim them as your own. That’s especially true in islamic history where a lot of their inventors and intellectuals were conquered non-muslims who were coerced into converting to islam.
So the “Golden Age” of islam was fueled mostly by conquest and not by some general curiousity and inventiveness innate to islam. The exact opposite is clearly true. And even the fundamentalists seem to realize this. Which is why they yearn to go back to the good old days of vast muslim empires and the constant waging of jihad against non-muslims.

I can’t think of much that was invented by them. Most of the things were leftovers taken from the Byzantine empire, but also from the Sassanides, or it was imported. Algebra and the “arab” numbers, for example, were imports from India and China.
Also many “muslim scientists” weren’t even mohammedans. Many were Jews and Christians with arab names. Those could somewhat work because there was a handful of leaders who weren’t as retarded as the rest. That’s the only reason. Critical thought, however, which is imperativ for science, never had any room in islam.
For example, the Greek found out the priniple of steam. They never built a steam engine, but they understood how it worked. That knowledge was in the hands of the mohammedans, they just never managed to use it, not even in the ways the Greek did it.
In fact, I can’t think of any initial “research” that was done by the mohammedans. There is the claim that the mohammedans had the first book for surgery. I doubt it. Even the Egyptians did more complex surgery, so it’s very likely that they had something written down to allow communication between doctors in different towns. And it goes on like that.
There are historians by now who say that this “Golden Age” of islam lasted a mere 20 years.

The Romans took over the ‘known world’ which included the Greeks and others. They took whatever inventions and concepts they found and improved them and advanced them. Roman engineering still stands today as great engineering principles that we just reuse with modern materials. Roman writing, poetry, philosophy, heck – even Roman military tatics and strateties not to mention weapons are in use today. They took what the found and improved/advanced it.
The mooslimes took over the ‘known world’ (see Gates of Vienna). They developed an architectural style/decorative style stolen from the Byzantines. They coopted every bit of engineering and science from those they conquered. Within a couple hundred years all the science and engineering had been degraded and discarded. Not one scientific concept had been advanced by a mooslime. During the Ottoman Empire period, all the advances (mostly in Spain) were created by non Turks of the captive countries. Meanwhile the Arab countries spiraled into tribal nomadic camel jockies which they remain today. There is little grand literature or world class universities or grand architecture invented/improved by the Devil worshippers.
Consider… the Romans have Ferrari, the mooslimes have suicide belts. Tells ya all you need to know.

Who knows how many “great muslim inventions” might have been “created” had they not burned down the Library of Alexandria in the 8th Century, because its contents were against the Quran. Since we don’t know the contents of the Library, we don’t know the full extent of what was allegedly “created” by muslims, as opposed to what was “stolen”/”appropriated” by them one thousand years ago. Actually, it is provable. Pagan cultures do not invent things, they maintain what has been established because paganism teaches objects can be inhabited with spirits which can become irate if disturbed, so therefore there is a real, inherent danger in messing with anything that isn’t already known. Pagan cultures get very upset if people try to alter, rearrange or otherwise modify traditional practices. Despite the bad press, innovators are more often named as witches and destroyed in pagan cultures than people are named as witches and persecuted in Judeo-Christian ones. It may seem like not possible in America, but most of the 6 billion people on the planet today have been raised in a more pagan, spiritism culture and are very insecure when dealing with new things. Violence against people who stray from the local norms is COMMON. Just read the local papers from India to Africa to South AMerica. COMMON. It is the major factor hindering humanitarian and basic developmental improvements world-wide.
The Judeo-Christian culture developed medicine and science because the religious teaching allowed experimentation and testing of the world. Out of the Judeo-CHristian scriptures, dating back thousands of years, it is taught that 1) God created the universe, but isn’t IN the universe, so it is not blasphemy to test it and 2) God gave express permission to mankind to find out how the world works and to use it: “Go and subdue the earth.”
Any religion that promotes the idea that god is in the world, a part of it, will consider it blaphemy to allow scientific testing. One doesn’t “test” gods” and live.
Science and medicine as we know it is a traceable product of the Judeo-Christian heritage. The list of Jewish and Christian scientists dominates the field, their discoveries and innovations have transformed the quality of life for all humanity.
The pseudo-sicences like Lysenkoism and it’s spawn like Global Warming are products of atheistic thinking, more concerned about political outcomes than truth.

No way, zero was a Hindu invention which they copied from the Hindus together with the rest of their numeral system and passed it off as Arabic numerals.
