Governor Rick Perry declined an invitation to greet Obama in El Paso today for his speech on amnesty.
Last week the Governor Perry blasted the Obama Administration for neglecting the wildfires in Texas.

(Houston Tomorrow)
The Politico reported:
Rick Perry has declined the White House’s request that he greet President Obama when Air Force One lands in Texas on Tuesday, the Republican governor’s office says.
“We did try to arrange something with the White House,” Lucy Nashed, a spokeswoman for Perry, told POLITICO. “They asked us if we wanted to meet him out on the tarmac in El Paso, but we weren’t able to work anything out, based on the fact that it’s probably going to be a 10-minute greeting.”
Perry, who met Obama at the airport when the president traveled to Austin in August, accused the administration two weeks ago of denying aid to his state to help recover from wildfires.
Other Republican governors, like Rick Scott and Mitch Daniels, recently greeted Obama when he visited their states.

Way to go Gov Perry. Why is Obama coming to Texas anyway?

This will be a Obowma amnesty speech.

Everybody should start snubbing ODUMBO…amnesty speech for more illegal votes…how much more corrupt can this a-hole get

Obama, stop pissing on America and telling us it’s raining.
Former Texan, powder be dry
Granny commented:
Good for Governor Perry! The last thing we need is governors adding color of legitimacy and approval to Obama’s open borders efforts. Obama should stay in Washington, DC, since HE is not contributing a single dime to his campaign efforts.
MAJ Mike commented:
Why should Governor Perry be a visual prop for THE WON’s propaganda efforts? THE WON has refused to declare Texas a disaster area even though every county in the state had massive grassfires ongoing at the same time. This is payback to a past President who lives in Texas and payback for the state’s opposition to ObamaCare.
THE WON is the most petty individual to occupy the White House. Even Carter was more realistic while in office (after rejection in 1980, he turned into the creature he is now).
I hope for change in 2012.

In answer to your question (#3), Cat Lady; “Why is Obama coming to Texas anyway?” It’s very simple: he’s going to pander to the Latino vote with his phony “push for immigration reform”. The idiot-in-chief never performs his duties and never stops campaigning.
Texaslegal commented:
Why would Perry want to greet the idiot that is fixing to send Texas over the edge with amnesty for all the illegal invaders?
RedBeard commented:
If I were in Perry’s place, I’m afraid my comments to the Commmunity Organizer-in-Chief would have been, shall we say, more pointed. Perhaps even anatomical by reference.
CrackerMike commented:
Obama had a lot of damn gall refusing Federal assistance for the Texas fires. Then he demands Perry kiss his rear at the airport after spitting in his face. That was a punishment of the people of Texas for their politically incorrect vote of course. The arrogance of this Mussolini clone is astounding!
Chisum commented:
You’ve got to hand it to our tone deaf president. He won’t go into the heart of the devastation in Texas where more than two million acres has burned. Nope. Instead, like dipping your big toe into very hot bath water, he goes to the far west corner of Texas on the international border of the most violent city in the world, Ciudad Juarez.
He’s oblivious to the war being conducted on our border and the devastation it in wreaking. He ignores the danger to this country posed by the drug cartels and mass immigration. He ignores the fact that Juarez went from a thriving city to a ghost town with the highest murder rate in the world in a matter of a year.
Is he going to Texas to explain why he refused FEMA funds to them? Is he going to Texas to talk about jobs? Is he going to Texas to talk about the violence spilling over into Texas, New Mexico, Arizona and California from Mexico? Issues that concern ALL Americans.
No. He’s dipping his big toe into the very edge of Texas to pander to one group and one group only…illegal aliens.
MikeSilver commented:
If I was a Republican, I’d avoid any public appearance with the One (piss on his head).
The best case is that you are a prop in the All Praise The One show. Worst case, he’ll attack you and your ideas right to your face without a chance to respond (a-la-Paul Ryan).
Keep an eye out for Perry. He could be a contender for the Republican nominee.
Redpillpatriot commented:
Perry is George W Bush 2, do not be fooled!
He has done Jack SH!T to stop immigration just like his predecessor! He only stumped him for his own political hide.
Had I been Gov of this great state we would have greeted Obuma with our militia for invading our REPUBLIC!
If I was too subtle (I was referring to secession).
MikeSilver commented:
#16 …. Fudge! I was hoping Perry would be good. Darn it. Where are the Conservative candidates? We’re going to end up with Mitt Romney.
olm commented:
Obama is going to TX to start the a$$ kissing of Latinos. That’s it.
He’s got to get moving if he wants the party to continue past 2012. He has done nothing for minorities and he desparately needs that vote.
Obama doesn’t care if Perry is there or not. Good for Perry. Smart move dude, it’s not about you and it’s not about Texas. It’s all about the O.

Let me translate that:
“I hate Texas. I hate what Texas stands for. I hate it as much or more than America. I want to take Texas down, and I’m enjoying watching it burn. In fact, I’m going there today to inflict even more damage to the state. I want to turn it into California as quickly as possible…”
Redpillpatriot commented:
#18 Mike, I know what you mean. I think Allen West is our only hope, but He hasn’t said he’d run yet!
Either that or Chuck Norris for President of Texas!
Thingamajig commented:
what Chisum said.
Pat the First commented:
So, you actually think that Texas could survive indenpendently. Not going to happen. We have to defend Canada. Now you want us to defend an independent Texas as well? Let’s step into reality land, why don’t we?
retire05 commented:
Obama is NOT coming to Texas to view our burned out 2+ million acres, or to say he’s sorry for giving the space shuttle to New York (instead of the Johnson Space Center) or to talk to the 25,000 Texans that have lost their jobs since he shut down the drilling in the Gulf, or even to see the bullet holes in the El Paso City Hall from shots fired across the border that he, and that idiot, Janet Napolitano, tell us is safer than ever.
No, he is coming here to pander to the Mexicans and those of Mexican heritage. I guess us electing two, new Republican Congressmen who are of Mexican heritage and sending them to D.C. and having two Mexican American Texas Congressmen jump the fence and become Republicans rattled The Wons cage a bit. So he’s coming here to assume all the river jumpers that if they just be patient, he is going to make them legal.
#16, seems you don’t know what you are talking about; Gov. Perry put the Texas Rangers, and all the resources they have, on the border, along with some of our own Texas Guard. What else do you want him to do? Sit on the border himself with a pair of spy glasses? Or haven’t you noticed how Eric Holder is treating Arizona?
Obama needs to stay out of my state. His bumper stickers are scarcer than a chubracabra.
L.E. Liesner commented:
More power to Gov. Perry, I wouldn’t shake hands with that degenerate either. And for the people of El Paso, if you happen to come in contact with Obama count your fingers afterwards.
RedBeard commented:
#24: Pat, the Texans I know will tell you they can defend themselves well. Judging by some of their chili recipes, I’d say they have a handle on chemical weaponry.
Redlite commented:
If I were Gov Perry I would sent out the TX Air Guard and deny Air Force Won from landing. But that won’t happen. So Gov stay as far from him as you can.
Iconoclast commented:
Good for Gov. Perry. This is the best 0shama *should* experience – routine, public, repudiation & shunning. Personally, I’d prefer to see Seabiscuit and her jockey greeted with a hailstorm of well rotted eggs & tomatoes topped by a bucket load of fecal matter.
befuddled commented:
As Jindal describes it, the letter was entirely routine, yet Obama was angry and concerned about looking bad.
“Careful,” he quotes the president as warning him, “this is going to get bad for everyone.”
Nearby on the tarmac, Jindal recalls, then-White House chief of staff Rahm Emanuel was chewing out his own chief of staff, Timmy Teepell.
“If you have a problem pick up the f——n’ phone,” Jindal quotes Emanuel telling Teepell.
The governor asserts that the White House had tipped off reporters to watch the exchange on the New Orleans tarmac that Sunday in May and deemed it a “press stunt” that symbolized what’s wrong with Washington.
“Political posturing becomes more important than reality,” he writes.

If the EPA tries to shut down drilling in west Texas because of some lizard, I fully expect Texas to say “Bug off, stay out of our business.” I have had enough of DC.

Most of us in Texas pretty much appreciate Gov. Perry’s common-sense approach to this President.
Texans never did expect any help from this President on the wildfire catastrophe.
As a matter of fact, Texans don’t expect anything from this President.
What Texans do expect is a very high turnout for the 2012 election.
