President George W. Bush joined 15 American soldiers who lost limbs or suffered serious injuries in Iraq or Afghanistanon on a 62-mile mountain bike ride last week. (Chron.com)

George W. Bush released this statement earlier tonight:

Earlier this evening, President Obama called to inform me that American forces killed Osama bin Laden, the leader of the al Qaeda network that attacked America on September 11, 2001. I congratulated him and the men and women of our military and intelligence communities who devoted their lives to this mission. They have our everlasting gratitude. This momentous achievement marks a victory for America, for people who seek peace around the world, and for all those who lost loved ones on September 11, 2001. The fight against terror goes on, but tonight America has sent an unmistakable message: No matter how long it takes, justice will be done.

  1. ++

    Thank You Mr. Bush..

  2. Does anybody think Obama would have congratulated Bush if the situation were reversed? Not likely.

  3. Rad, I was thinking the same thing. But, let’s give praise where praise is due. #1 to our magnificent military and #2 to President George Bush, a great leader, a man with class to the nth degree. He made me proud to be an American. He still does!

  4. Bush is a gentleman and has always shown consideration for American soldiers.

    God Bless the US Military!

    God Bless George W. Bush!

    God Bless the 9/11 families!

God Bless America and our allies!

  5. Now Obama can Golf some more, Hit up David Letterman show for a visit, , ignore the south some more, have a victory concert, vacation in the Carib, and have extra date nights and still spend 1.5 trillion more than we take in.

  6. #2, no,

as Much as Obama called or implied over the years that Bush ( and Republicans) are all evil, this is suspitious. Does this mean we are now out of Afghanistan/Pak, and the middle east?

  7. Bush’s statement was short and to the point. Classy guy.

  8. Bush may not have been a great president, but he’s got to be one of the classiest. What a morale boost for our military, not to mention first responders across the country.

  9. How long until Hysterical Arabs start blaming the Zionists?

  10. Lets hope Osama’s body is covered with pigs blood, pissed on by every soldier in the area, set out to be picked apart by buzzards and ants.

  11. Did Obama actually say in his speech that he gave the order to bring BIn Laden to justice? Why did he not give the order to assasinate Bin LAden. Did Special Ops disobeyed Obama orders and shot Bin Laden in the head? Congrats to special Ops for disobeying Obama orders to bring Bin Laden to justice and shoot him in the HEAD! MAke no mistake speixal Ops could have bring him back alive.

  12. He said gave order to kill or capture him… Like their wasnt a standing order on this anyway

  13. Well done, Mr. President. No, not REALLY the guy you congratulated, but YOU, President Bush.

I realize that’s the protocol of the rarefied air of high-level politics. Of course.

But you started this response–the Long War, as you once called it–and now perhaps this dance can finally start to wind down. At last.

The nation and the goodwill of all free peoples thank you.

    –W

  14. Maybe the announcement was to say to Donald, heay kid, look was Obummy can do.

Dont’ forget that 1 May 2003 was the day Bush said Mission accomplished ( 8 th year anniversary)

Hitler pronounced dead on 1 May 1945

  15. How many attacks US embassies this next week? The islamotards will be going insane shortly.

  16. Obama certainly wasted no time taking credit for it …
