Obama CIA chief admitted today that intelligence gleaned from enhanced interrogating techniques led the US to Osama Bin Laden.
Today reported:

Intelligence garnered from waterboarded detainees was used to track down al-Qaida leader Osama bin Laden and kill him, CIA Chief Leon Panetta told NBC News on Tuesday.

“Enhanced interrogation techniques” were used to extract information that led to the mission’s success, Panetta said during an interview with anchor Brian Williams. Those techniques included waterboarding, he acknowledged.

Panetta, who in a 2009 CIA confirmation hearing declared “waterboarding is torture and it’s wrong,” said Tuesday that debate about its use will continue.

“Whether we would have gotten the same information through other approaches I think is always gonna be an open question,” Panetta said.

    re: great link!! #20

[Q: You stated that President Obama was “overruled” by military/intelligence officials regarding the decision to send in military specialists into the Osama Bin Laden compound. Was that accurate?

A: I was told – in these exact terms, “we overruled him.” (Obama) I have since followed up and received further details on exactly what that meant, as well as the specifics of how Leon Panetta worked around the president’s “persistent hesitation to act.” There appears NOT to have been an outright overruling of any specific position by President Obama, simply because there was no specific position from the president to do so. President Obama was, in this case, as in all others, working as an absentee president.]

you know, i wouldn’t doubt they tell the ditherer in chief to
go play GOLF so they can get some decision making done..

  3. I would bet real money Scott is spot on correct. Personally, I don’t care if Obama had serious discussions about taking down bin Laden or just rubber stamped his “okay.” He wasn’t the one orchestrating or carrying out the mission; the soldiers actually involved were professionals doing their job well. That, in the end, is what really matters.

The most we can expect from Obama regarding our military is that he’d defer to the wisdom of the military’s leaders, since he has zero experience with and even less interest in military operations.

  4. Sorry Libtards. Waterboarding is not torture. So come on down off your moral hobby high horse and send a note of thanks to George Bush, Dick Cheney and Don Rumsfield for putting in place the means to fight the greatest threat to world peace since WWII: Radical Islam.

Ya know, voting ‘present’ in the War on Global Terror just ain’t an option.

  5. Thanks, Optimist, for confirming what we already knew about the sickness that is leftism.

As for ol’ Leon, what will his punishment be for straying off the path and ruining the leftie waterboarding narrative?

  6. Hear that. . . . ??? Liberal’s worldview getting flushed down the toilet due to truth.

Come on liberals, by any means possible, this is what war looks like.

    powder is dry

  7. Wonder how long it will take for them to force Panetta to “walk back” his statement.

re: #20/21 via Scott #75 link:

    “we overruled him.”

    “persistent hesitation to act.”

“What Valerie Jarrett, and the president, did not know is that Leon Panetta had already initiated a program that reported to him –and only him, involving a covert on the ground attack against the compound.”

    “very confused and uncertain.”

There was not going to be another
delay as had happened 24 hour earlier.

Another interesting tidbit regarding this is that the Vice
President was already “up to speed” on the operation.

These figures worked around the uncertainty of President Obama and
the repeated resistance of Valerie Jarrett. If they had not been willing
to do so, I am certain Osama Bin Laden would still be alive today.

  9. The picture released from the situation room shows Obama as a marginal figure, in a corner chair, in golf duds, looking angry to have to be there. His demeanor is less leaderly than anyone else in the room, which is not surprising.
