Chickens Come Home to Roost… Obama To Honor Cop-Killer Promoting Poet From His Old Church (Video)

America’s chickens come home to roost.
Barack Obama will honor a far left cop-killer promoting poet at a White House on Wednesday night.
One of the poets is from Obama’s former hate-church. In fact, there’s even video of “Common” performing at Trinity United with the Reverend Jeremiah Wright.
The New Hampshire Journal reported:
According to the Associated Press, Obama “will celebrate American poetry and prose with a gathering of poets, musicians and artists at the White House next Wednesday night.” One of the poets who will attend is Lonnie Rashid Lynn, Jr. who goes by the name “Common.”
It is likely Obama met Common at the Rev. Jeremiah Wright’s Trinity United Church of Christ were both men were members. Several of Wright’s sermons caused a firestorm of controversy during the 2008 presidential campaign due to their caustic, racially charged, anti-American tones. One sermon in particular caused Obama a severe headache – the one in which he blamed America for Osama bin Laden’s terrorist attacks. “America’s chickens are coming home to roost,” he said.
Obama at first tried to defend Wright. But when that strategy became untenable, he disavowed him. Not so Common. In fact, Common defended his minister.
“What I picked up from the pews…was messages of love,” Common said at the time. “Anything that was going on against that love he would acknowledge and expose. He’s been a preacher that’s helped raise one of the greatest political figures in the world, and hopefully, the next President. He’s also raised one of the greatest rappers in the world [meaning Common himself].”
In fact, Common rapped at the 2008 New Year celebration at Wright’s church. “I’m gonna let you know / No people want drama / We gonna vote for my man / What’s his name? Obama … Revolution is here,” he sang, and the Rev. Wright danced in the background.
Some of Common’s poetry could also raise some eyebrows among those who might find cop-killing and racially-tinged or misogynist language beneath the Office of the Presidency.
“Tell the law my Uzi weighs a ton … I hold up a peace sign but I carry a gun,” raps Common in one appearance that was posted onto YouTube.
Of course, the fact that Obama is honoring a cop-killer promoting lunatic at the White House surprises no one.

Now my question. Since we are honoring fellow church members, how about honoring the murdered choir director, Donald Young? I’m sure he was likely a poet too, he certainly sounds like he was well loved.

Did you know that the Rev. Jim Jones of The Peoples Temple was an atheist? He only used his title for tax purposes. Just like Wright, Sharpton, and Jackson. He joined the CPUSA at 21. He had many ties to the Democratic Party including Jimmy Carter, and Jerry Brown.

Common is not a “cop-killer”, nor does he condone “cop-killing.” The line “My Uzi weighs a ton” is a reference to a Public Enemy song in which “uzi” is used as a metaphor for the mind. The rest of Common’s poem carries out this metaphor.
This article is VERY misleading, as Common is not a misogynist nor a cop-killer, and in fact most of his lyrics are very positive. Please do not pass judgment until you actually know what he’s about.

@yeahyoufeelme- good to see someone actually knows Common and is familiar with his work; however, you are most likely wasting your effort. The majority of those who visit this website don’t care about the truth. They are looking for a place to dignify their ignorance. If they actually cared, they would research this for themselves. Lets acknowledge the incredibly vital fact that in poetry the speaker is not always the author! Therefore, it makes sense that Common would speak at a live event to say that “What I picked up from the pews…was messages of love,” and then write a poem (this is where the differentiation happens so lets pay crucial attention). Yes a POEM. Not an op-ed, not an autobiography, and not a speech. Thus when he recites “Tell the law my Uzi weighs a ton … I hold up a peace sign but I carry a gun,” isn’t it possible that he is speaking from another point of view. Perhaps an at risk, gang involved youth? We need to understand the juxtaposition to realize that Common is not a violent, hate spewing, anti-American male but is an educated and informed individual of the problems of this country and actually has the courage to speak of them, well knowing that criticism from mindless thugs such as FOX News will surely follow him.
