It looks like Obama’s anti-Israel proposals were not such a great idea after all…

Last week Barack Obama pushed Israel to hand over half of Jerusalem, the Wailing Wall, The Temple Mount, Old Jerusalem, and the tomb of Jesus Christ to the Hamas-Fatah terrorist alliance.

Now the American left is urging politicians not to use Obama’s support for the Hamas-Fatah terrorist alliance as a political football. Of course, they say this not because they fundamentally disagree with the president, they say this because they don’t want Obama to be damaged politically for supporting the Palestinian parties over Israel.
The Politico reported:

A close friend and political supporter of President Barack Obama, Alan Solow, is urging American politicians to avoid partisan mudslinging over the issue of Israel.

“We cannot allow Israel to become a wedge issue that divides our community and dilutes its strength,” said Solow, a Chicago attorney who serves as the president of the Conference of Presidents of Major Jewish Organizations. “Of course, we as individuals can prefer some candidates over others, but we must not allow the U.S.-Israel relationship to become the distinguishing factor between the major parties. Our goal should be exactly the opposite: to promote all political actors to adopt strong pro-Israel positions across the board.”

Solow’s comments came days after some Republicans–along with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and other staunchly pro-Israel voices in Israel and the U.S.–jumped on Obama for publicly suggesting that Israel’s pre-1967 borders should be the “basis” for peace negotiations between Israel and the Palestinians. Republican presidential candidate Mitt Romney, for instance, unleashed some of the most strident criticism by declaring that Obama had “thrown Israel under the bus.”

Solow, speaking from the podium at the American Israel Public Affairs Committee policy conference Monday night, did not mention any GOP politicians by name. However, he urged Israel supporters “to avoid demonizing leaders merely for political gain.”

If Republicans allow Obama to endanger Israel then shame on them. They need to speak out not for political gain… But because it is the right thing to do.

  1. Begging?

On your knees and bend over, Alan.

It’s interesting. They are that scared of it. All more reason to use Israel in this battle.

  2. Keep your mouth shut to your own detriment. You moonbats don’t see the forest for the trees!

  3. “However, he urged Israel supporters “to avoid demonizing leaders merely for political gain.””

Oh no, GOP, that would be just horrible! Like those leftard democrats wouldn’t use it for political gain in a second – democrats make me sick.

  4. Resign and get out, BHO. There, fixed.

  5. Obama has stepped in a big pile and now they want us to ignore the smell.

  6. “Obama supports Pali parties, Obama supports Pali parteis, Obama supports Pali parties…and on and on…”
    Like that huh?

  7. Sorry, IWon WTF is the one who picked up the football and ran it straight into the endzone of the opposition.

You don’t want people to use your words and the positions you take on significant things, shut up.

  8. Looks like O’ Bama has picked a winner because his popularity is increasing.

  9. I can’t think of an ethnic group that did more to elect BHO than Jewish organizations who game 10′s of millions, if not hundreds of millions, to his 2008 election. Outside of African Americans there is no more loyal ethnic group inside the Democratic party.

So Republicans are supposed to stand up for Israel? Why not force Jewish groups to take on their own party leaders? Why not force Jewish groups to question their party loyalties? If Democrats will stand for BHO’s nonsense, why should the GOP stop them? GOP can condemn BHO’s statement all they want, but if his policies cause great harm to Israel, let the Dems explain it and let Jewish leaders defend it.

  10. bho has more baggage than all GOP candidates put together. They are absolutely stupid not to bring all these things to the attention of the people.

  11. They are worried…what if the Jews vote Repub. and throw all their money behind the GOP?
O My! Obama done messed up big time. He hates Jews but gosh he needs their bucks…Maybe the arabs will give him the money he needs, he sure has sucked up to them enough!

  12. Too late, Obooby. Your towel boy Harry Reid has already punted you. LOLOLOLOL!

  13. The Democrats have officially joined the Moslem Spring with the new “Jihad On” policy of their leader in chief, Barry H Obama.

Now that we have a sitting president who advocates the destruction of Israel, I believe it is fair game to report this fact, 24/7, no?

  14. I’m so sick of liberals wanting republicans to play nice, all the while they’re playing dirty and ugly . Hopefully republicans learn something from 2008 campaign. Sorry to infrom liberal jews but if the public has been paying attention for over the last 2 years they well know who side Obama is on.

  15. A “wedge”? I intend to use it more as a conversational club, one of many.

  16. What a tool that Solow is. That Conference of Presidents of Major Jewish Organizations that he heads is the same despicable outfit that back in 2009 cancelled their scheduled protest against Ahmadinejad’s visit at the U.N.

Remember why they cancelled it? Because Hillary Clinton cancelled out of speaking at the protest when she found out that the dreadSarah Palin was going to be there. It doesn’t matter that Sarah Palin is THE greatest friend Israel has. No, all that matters is that she’s an evangelical Christian who’s pro-life and allowed her Down syndrome child to be born instead of aborting him. That drives leftists CRAZY.

And I use the word “crazy” literally — because surely it is a sign of mental illness when you value the “right” to kill babies more than you value the right of Israel to survive.

  17. You’re just so right on Alan. We should not use Barack’s support of terrorist organizations as a political football. And we should ignore the economy. And we should ignore the budget and deficit problems. And we should ignore unemployment. And we should ignore Barack”s betrayal of our Eastern European allies. And we should ignore his hatred of all things American. And we should ignore his race baiting. And we should ignore his serial lying. And we should ignore his narcissism.
And we should ignore his incompetence, and his constant partying.
If we ignore all of that, we are faced with the inescapable conclusion that Barack Hussein Obama is the most AWESOME PRESIDENT EVER. (He makes a tingle run up my leg.)

  18. Hopefully Sarah Palin will make hay with this. :-D

  19. Political leaders should not align themselves with demons. If they do they are demonizing them selves. Obama says his latest position on Israel has been talked about privately for years. For once he is telling the truth. Antisemitism is nothing new.

  20. Obama-change you can step in.

  21. Winning the hearts and minds of the Muslims can very likely cause you to lose your head. To damned bad our politicians will never learn that.

  22. Comments have consequences.

  23. Unfortunately The Conference of Presidents of Major Jewish Organizations is much more committed to far left democrat machine politics than it is to the stability of Israel in its present borders. I have listened to one of its leaders for years on Batchelor’s radio show. He’s a nice guy and likes to talk, but his true love which he politely tries not to talk about too much, is the democrat machine. I believe the group is a wedge itself to keep the Jewish vote cornered and in line.
