WH Press Secretary Carney Scoffs at Question About Obama’s Missing Easter Statement (Video)

White House press secretary Jay Carney was asked today why President Obama did not give a statement on Easter.
He laughed it off.

Barack Obama released statements for the Muslims holidays of Ramadan, Eid-ul-Fitr, the Hajj, and Eid-ul-Adha last year. Just last month he released a statement for the Persian Nowruz holiday.

Carney also scoffed at media reports calling out the White House for not releasing a statement commemorating Easter on Sunday, explaining Obama and his family attended church services in Washington.
“The president went to church yesterday, it was well-covered. I’m not sure if we put out a statement or not. He obviously personally celebrated Easter with his family,” he said.
When a reporter asked how Carney could not know whether the White House issued a statement, Carney shot back, “I’m glad you are asking me these key important questions, guys.
“As a devoted Christian, he believes it is a very important holiday for him personally, his family and people all around the country,” he added.

He DID go to church for Easter service, though, didn’t he? That hardly sounds like not acknowledging Christ. It just seems indefensible, from a PR point of view if nothing else, that he would issue statements on all those other Muslim holidays, but skip Easter. He put out a Christmas message, didn’t he?

Look, folks. It was bad enough he had to attend a Christian church. Did he have to talk about it later? Or was this church the same type as Wright’s church. You know the one, where muslims are welcome. Come to think of it, going to Wright’s church was a good way to hide the fact that he was not a Christian but still going to church to worship Allah and still be able to claim he was a Christian. The point isn’t whether Obama is Muslim (he’s not ) or Christian (define your terms). He’s a secularist and is ashamed to admit it. And here is one point where I part company with many on this site. I think we’d have a much easier time winning people to the side of lower taxes, a strong defense, individual responsibility and small government if we would stop bringing God into it all the time. Frankly, I don’t care if gays get married and I can live with legal abortion if it makes it possible of otherwise sensible and intelligent gays and women who want small government, lower taxes, a strong defense, etc. vote for them.

We are not discussing gays or abortion. We are discussing a president that does not let a muslim holiday go by without acknowledging it and lets important Christian holidays go by without saying anything. He acknowledged the Jewish holiday by talking about the muslims rather than what the Jewish holiday was about. I guess there are alot of people that are trying to understand why he says he is a Christian but shows no signs of being a Christian. Just going to a church does not mean you are a Christian. Either he is confused and conflicted about his beliefs or he is/ has been lying to us all.
