In a straight party line vote, Senate Democrats voted against defunding Obamacare.
Only 41% of Americans support the unpopular health care law.
Democrats vote against defunding Obamacare.
The AP reported:
The Senate has rejected an effort to cut off funds for President Barack Obama’s health care law.
The vote Thursday was 53-47, strictly along party lines. Republicans had pressed for a vote on the resolution as part of the negotiated deal to cut spending struck by Obama and congressional leaders last week.
Moderate Democrats facing tough re-election campaigns next year voted with their party to keep the cash flowing to the law.

Does this mean that OC DICK can get his/her tax payer funded sex change operation now?
NeoKong commented:
Let them defend that in 2012.
Scott commented:
Claire must not like being a senator. She has now voted 3 times for Obamacare even though 71% of Missourians voted against the individual mandate. Most Missourians pay their taxes, but Missouri’s senior senator thinks she’s above the law and only pays her taxes after she’s been outted as a tax cheat.
2012 can’t come soon enough.

Suicide rate is up? Obama needs to be impeached before he causes the death of more downtrodden Americans. How long will we let him feed his ego and his mental imbalance as he takes the US economy on this downward spiral?
You know deep down he wants help. He WANTS to be relieved of the burden of the office.
Granny commented:
#6 – Well just think of it from his POV Muffin. The more of us that off ourselves, the less the government will have to tax people for Obamacare.

Now just bring it up once every 2 weeks and force them to own it over and over. Add language not allowing waivers then waivers for all and make them vote on it again and again

This is going to be a big deal for my senator up for reelection. Bill Nelson. He is strictly a which way is the wind blowing type of politician and has been bloviating about Obama Care and not was forced to take a very unpopular position in Florida. He will regret having to go on the record about this.

While the government was ready to shut down, the Whitehouse staffers got free botox injections, nothing is free i wonder if our tax money payed for those free injections.

And John Boehner & Co. actually believed that if they DIDN’T SEEK BUDGET CUTS, then enough Dem’s in the Senate would be so appreciate that they’d vote to defund Obamacare. What idiots Boehner and Eric Cantor are. Totally useless dupes who simply don’t realize the kind of people across the aisle whom they’re dealing with.
Old Fan commented:
One of the vivid reasons why we cannot afford anymore Delaware Fiasco folly.
We had such a great opportunity, not only to take Biden’s long head Senate Seat, we blew a sincere chance to send Reid packing, etc.
Sound, serious, credible Candidates is essential. We cannot continue to enable this pathetic Democratic Partisan sophistry.
The fashion on Our Own side best not enable the worst yet again this 2012. Time to end this horrid Democratic Party sophistry, period.
JB commented:
Excellent. Red State Democrats are toast.
Rose commented:
The answer to this is simple – all finance bills MUST originate in the House. If the Senate EVER wants Financing of ANYTHING, they have to go through the HOUSE.l
We know Boehner has no spine, but the Tea Party will grow as the GOP declines.
Every bill that goes to the Senate must include the defunding of Obamacare, eventually, the Senate will want something bad enough.
dandan commented:
Congressional pay should be the first thing to go when the budget isn’t balanced. If Congress lost their pay when the budget wasn’t balanced, we’d have a balanced budget every year. If congress received 50% of their pay for the year, during the years we run a deficit, we’d have a balanced budget, and we’d be successfully reducing/eliminating the national debt.
