Another day… Another bunch of leftist goons disrupting a Republican speaking at a rally…
Pro-union thugs shouted down Congressman Frank Wolfe (R-VA) at a press conference on Tuesday. The protesters were outraged that came out against collective bargaining.

  1. Union protesters out on a Thursday, don’t they have jobs or is that part of the union package that they get days off for protesting. mpw

  2. “Our Money, Our Jobs?” Uh uh.

    OUR FREEDOM–

NOT to be forced to join a union.
NOT to have our tax $ funneled to the Democrats.

  3. Given that Frank Wolf has been in that congressional seat since … 1980(?!) I doubt he’s too worried about the union vote.

  4. Can these people be identified? Are they from Virginia?

So, a metro stop is going to be built at Dulles, and the questions are whether or not to build it underground, and whether the proposed rules favoring use of union labor make sense.

Instead of having a discussion about the actual issues, or a news article outlining the issues, the news is about a bunch of loudmouths trying to drown out a report by an elected official to the voters.

    This is nonsense.

I’d like to hear what the Republican Congressman has to say. It does occur to me that the plans could well be revised to obtain a better result, all around.

I would in concept favor placing the station underground as many of the stations are, because this is likely to be a better plan over the long term. It could be, however, the the real object of the wrangling is some kicker in the proposal that inflates the cost of the underground installation over and above what it should be.

The same is true of the contract requirements. Union-favoring contracts are often stuffed with “extras” such as featherbedding provisions and lay-off restrictions that no entity interested in good work product should tolerate.

  5. do you notice that all these kinds of protests started after obama gave his fantastic speech on civility in arizona. anybody want to bet that this strategy was planned at the same time they were writing that speech.

  6. I bet they are ACORN shipped in!

  7. They are Democrats-They are Democrats-They are Democrats-They are Democrats.

  8. Those signs are manufactured, made to look like they are hand-printed.

  9. Are all of these porkers overweight fat slobs? Our work…our jobs!
Well, it is our money, a$$holes.

The Metro extension will largely be built by union labor. There will be federal money on the project so Davis Bacon will apply. From there the project will degenerate into a social program of contract and job spoils distribution by race and gender quotas. The free market at work. Snort.

  10. I guess the First Amendent can only be employed by the LEFTY goons. At least we can see the Left’s playbook… intimidation and noise.

  11. Here’s a rough economic guide. Volume of screaming and number of fat unionists = amount of money saved and efficiency gained.
I’m still working on getting the number of obscenities into the formula. Can’t quite crunch them numbers.

  12. Valerie, the last stop on the Metro toward Dulles is at Vienna. It is above ground. The underground portions are all the immediately bordering stops in the Arlington area on into D.C. The distance from Vienna to dulles is not short. The infrastructure exists for a rail route, the METRO question is whether a STATION should be above or below ground. Below ground would probably be better. Atlanta airport is a good model.

  13. Mark maybe we could pass a STIMULUS BILL for the Dulles Station.

  14. if they want to yell and shout they have the right to do that. it is the same thing people did at town hall meetings on healthcare. stop complaining about them, get out there and confront them. don’t let the pete trumka, andy stern bullies intimidate you.

  15. Tick.
    Tock.

  16. Time to lock and load.

And to quote one of Gateway’s “good guys”: Powder is dry.

  17. I have a family member that was at the rally to speak (not as a protestor
). This person said that the protesters were extremely rude and disruptive. So much so that hardly anybody could hear the speakers.

To answer someones question from above: I heard they were bused in from D.C. Not sure how valid that is but sounds about right.

Also, while putting the metro below ground would be ideal, the price of the job would sky rocket from the original price given, and that burden would fall on the taxpayers in higher tolls, etc. In an area where taxes are already too high, this isn’t flying for everyone.

  18. Guess what low-IQ, lazy union parasites? Your skills (or lack thereof) are no longer needed…please do the country a favor and find the quickest exit.

  19. Hey, at least the lefty, union, communist astro turf is learning. They are not using all the professionally made protest signs anymore.

BUT NOTICE, they are all the same size paper and all the same formatting. When will these fools learn that their propaganda no longer works. Jeez!
